Description

Description

Large, comfortable, secluded year-round 4 BR home (sleeps 8) built late 80s. VERY well equipped, and super ''green'', on 1/2 acre treed, landscaped lot, 200 YARDS to warm, sandy & SHARK FREE ''Atlantic Street BEACH''. 4 min. walk to CVS & Dunkin' Donuts for the Sunday paper & coffee, or 8 min. walk to the great shops and restaurants of 'downtown' Harwich Port or to the Dairy Queen or - ranked Top 25 Small Town Main Streets in the USA!

It says something that before Labor Day '22, Seawind was fully booked for Summer '23 - 8 of 10 weeks booked by returning guests!

Not a typical Cape ''Cottage'': 4 TVs, High speed internet, all new appliances. The bedrooms are spacious, air conditioned - and you can hear the ocean from every one!

Comfortable enough for Hollywood stars & NFL players: Denis Leary & a Texan / Jet have rented twice!

Well equipped kitchen: Every appliance & utensil you will need, incl. new fridge,stove,2 Weber BBQs, DW and lobster pot. A brand new high-end laundry pair in the basement. AC in every bedroom.

The living room: TV, DVR, DVD & a sound system that can broadcast your Bluetooth device's 'star watching' or background music to the big rear deck & BBQ area. Alternatively, lie back and listen... to the waves.

We want you to feel comfortable - and your kids to have fun! Lots of games, books, toys, beach stuff (including fins & masks) all available for you to use, 4 Flatscreen TVs (incl HD / cable), DVD players, a full finished basement with walk out to a large side yard, a craft table - in other words, lots to do, even when it's raining.

Can't manage to leave work behind? Hi-speed wi-fi connection for your laptop & free long distance.

The house is in the area known as The 'Campgrounds' & Seawind is built on the original camp meeting site, which is why our lot is so large in comparison to the others surrounding it. The first meeting in New England supporting Abolition and leading to support for the Civil War actually took place on this very site - 2000+ people and a riot! WOW!

The neighborhood today is full – overflowing !! - with other families, and while the size of our lot assures your privacy, a bike ride round the block or a visit to the beach often means your children will acquire several new friends.

A nine hole golf course is walking distance away (driving would be easier, but getting dropped off & walking home afterwards is very workable). Cranberry Valley in Harwich Center is a little further, but offers an opportunity to play on what was recently ranked as one of the top 50 public courses in America.

Harwich Port offers a great grocery store, plus lots of the activities the kids look for: mini-golf, batting cages, go karts & trampolines. All less than 5 minutes drive away. And we have been blessed with 5 great restaurants within walking distance, along with a place that makes the best sandwiches and another the best pizza in the world. The BIKE PATH is a 5 minute drive or 10 minute ride away.

Enjoy the sunset from the front deck, fresh blackberries from the yard for breakfast, commune with nature in the enclosed outdoor shower, use the home to entertain your friends. Or just enjoy the peace and quiet, with all the amenities & comforts any couple or family could want. Seawind offers you all that freedom.

HOUSE DETAILS:
The house is about 2000 sf of living space: 2 full stories with four bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and a full height finished basement with a walkout to a side yard. There is also a fair sized back yard, and decks both front and back. The lot is about a half acre, and is an odd shape, but offers kids lots of room for catch, frisbee, even volleyball or badminton. There is a bike rack at the side, 10 beach chairs and a wagon.

The GROUND FLOOR consists of a large combination kitchen/dining room on the back(south) side that has a breakfast bar for 2 and comfortable dining room seating for 8. There is lots of counter room, a brand new side-by-side refrigerator. There are mixers, a coffee grinder, blender, steamer and a food processor in addition to a full picnic kit. Lots of wine glasses, plenty of cutlery and dishes. A good selection of knives, a garlic press, lots of pans and a new stove make the kitchen very cook friendly. Lots of spices & basic cooking supplies there for your use.

The front half of the ground floor consists of a large living room with two 3-seater couches and a comfy chair gathered around the entertainment center, a small office / desk area, and a 2 piece powder room.

The 2ND FLOOR is comprised of the 3 bedrooms, and a full 4 piece bathroom. Each bedroom has a window AC unit that ensures a good night's rest, even when the Cape gets sticky. Both Bedroom 1 and Bedroom 2 feature queen-size beds with their own flat screen TVs on cable. The Bunk room is a pair of twins, with walls covered in actual navigation charts of the Cape and the east coast. Beds are all new / recent and guaranteed comfortable.

The BASEMENT: fully finished, very bright, and in addition to the bedroom (bunks: twin over full) has a shower and washroom, a large laundry area with brand new front loading pair - steam washer / dryer, comfortable seating in front of a TV / DVD , a glass slider walk out to the side yard, and painted well-insulated walls, and in all, is high, nice and bright. With a craft / puzzle table, this is where you send the kids with friends - on rainy days - or when they can't agree on what program to watch! The bathroom with shower also offers great privacy for a nanny, or visiting grand parents,

Please don't hesitate to call for more photos or information.
NOTE: Linens and cleaning available at additional cost.

The beach: is absolutely great - long & wide, a nice sandy bottom & suitable for adult or child swimmers and offers the warmest salt water on Cape Cod. Mid 70s by early July.

All in all, a super comfortable, well equipped home by the beach, guaranteed to make your family's vacation special.

    Another LOVELY Week at Seawind!

This is the second year that our family has rented Seawind. The home is perfect for our family of four with two weeks and my elderly parents. Every year we have a little family reunion in the Campground area of Harwichport in August. My Dad is one of nine and his siblings and their families all rent places and stay for the week. The proximity to the beach is ideal. The air conditioning and laundry on-site are such a bonus. We love cooking on the grill and hanging out on the deck. The home is beautiful and really makes for a comfortable stay! We are looking forward to staying again next August! show more show less

The challenge I face, when 7 of the 10 core 2023 summer weeks are repeat guests, is I feel like I am imposing if I ask them for yet another review when there's already one posted below. And imposing on my guests is not what I feel I should do.
Each of the Phil W, Nicole S, Suzanne S, Liz L and Jen L families (see their vacationer reviews below) are back in 2023 for their 4th / 4th / 2nd (for them but 4th including their family members Tom P below) / 7th and 7th summers respectively, for between 1 and 2 weeks. And Phil W - having just finished his family's 2023 week, has already confirmed for their 5th stay next year.
In my opinion, a repeat booking is the ultimate compliment, and is the most valuable rating one can get - and also the one I strive for with every new guest as well.

    Top Location in Harwich Port

Seawind is a great place to vacation! Just park your car and walk to both the beach and village. Of course, if you want to experience more of Cape Cod, you are poised to easily travel in any direction. There is so much to do. Read the listing; it really says it all! You will have everything you want and need, and Gavin is always available and attentive to make sure your stay is comfortable. Eight of us gathered from FL, MA, and NY to be together, and to be nearby other family and friends in the area. This was our first year at Seawind and it accommodated grandchildren and adults beautifully. We soon agreed that we would book two weeks in 2023 and we look forward to returning to continue our Harwich Port tradition. show more show less

    Feels like home

We look forward to our stay at "Seawind" each year. When we turn into the driveway it is like getting home. The property is well maintained and ready for move in and start enjoying upon arrival. Our three little grandsons can't wait to get downstairs (just like at home) and play with the toys.

As adults we enjoy the spacious lot, peace and quiet of the the area, and walking distance to town or beach. Having chairs, and other amenities for the beach including the pull cart for transporting the necessary items to and from is great. The boys also enjoy riding in the wagon on walks or even around the back yard.

The back deck with ample seating and dining area is the place to be to enjoy an adult beverage and snacks, while keeping a watchful eye on the young ones playing, observing a worm or bug in the grass or chasing fireflies at dusk.

The property is located within a five minute walk to town and/or beach. If you desire to venture further than a comfortable walk, jump in the car and go, it is easy scenic.

We find the residents and merchants in the area are happy to be there and treat you like a friend rather than just another temporary vacationer.

If you need to contact Gavin he is easy to reach, listens and makes certain any reasonable concerns are taken care of.

There are reasonable guidelines for using the property which if followed assure a great experience, protect the property, owner, current guest and those who will be enjoying "Seawind" after you leave. Don't forget Gavin and his family may be the next occupants and they are there to relax and enjoy just as he hopes you and your family do.

All and all, the entire experience is there to be enjoyed by those lucky enough to have found and appreciate it.

We are already talking and looking forward to returning again in 2023.

    Great place for a family

We have stayed at Seawind for several years in a row and have found it to be the perfect location for our family. The property is unique for the area, as it is a short walk to the beach and into town, but is on a large lot with lots of privacy- big yard and deck and feels very secluded. Harwichport is a wonderful little town, and from Seawind, you can easily walk to plenty of restaurants and shops.

Gavin, the homeowner, is very communicative and thorough, to ensure that you have everything you need- beach chairs, grills, etc. In short, it is a perfect place to stay if you want to be close to the beach and town, but to also have some yard space and privacy. show more show less

Perfect Cape retreat with all the comforts of home

This house was a wonderful find and a true home away from home! It is exactly as advertised: Well laid out with lots of space for a group, every amenity you could possibly need for a Cape vacation (my husband, the family chef, was delighted at the super well-equipped kitchen), and the rare combination of a nicely secluded location with a short walk to the beach.

Important for this year: we were very impressed with all of the precautions taken against possible spread of Covid-19 and felt completely safe in the week we were there. Many thanks to Gavin for being such a pleasure to deal with, so attentive to details and responsive to the few minor issues we noticed during our stay! We also really appreciate the commitment to sustainability and recycling, which was a nice plus. We would absolutely stay here again, and feel lucky that we had the opportunity to enjoy this great place. show more show less

Some guests are just incredibly easy to work with - and equally, incredibly nice people (there may be a correlation). Kelsey and Terry are both of those, and then some. I feel very fortunate to have had them pick Seawind for their vacation. Please come back soon!

Great place to stay on the Cape

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is full of amenities and the layout makes it very comfortable. Our teenagers appreciated staying in the bedroom downstairs. This property has a large yard and parking which can be hard to find in this area. It's in an ideal location - easy walk to the beach and town. We enjoyed eating lunches together on the deck. Looking forward to future vacations here!

    Memories and Grandchildren

Memories are built on great experiences. For several years now Seawind has been the place where my family has felt comfortable developing our family summer memories. My wife, two daughter and four granddaughters.. before last summer men were not invited... so I paid and was allowed to come!

We have watched these girls grow up at the Cape. They are all still young 14, 9, 9 and 6. Cousins from Colorado and Massachusetts. What could be better than a safe, clean environment like Seawind to build lasting memories.

The house is very well appointed with all the amenities you are used to at you own home. The rooms are more than comfortable for a large family. The bedrooms have great windows ventilation and AC if needed. The backyard with its large deck is your own small sanctuary with lots of birds and trees. Great place for early morning coffee or 5:00 PM cocktails. Also, what could be better than a three minute walk to the beach!

The town is special, being able to enjoy the restaurants and many small gift shops makes the Cape experience very fun. One can not avoid the ice cream shops especially with four grandkids!

I know the owner takes great pride in maintaining the highest standards of care to make sure each guest is well taken care of,. from having a new grill to making sure you have great laundry facilities. If you have questions, help is just a quick telephone call or text away. I feel very confidant that even in these crazy times of a pandemic, the owner will do everything possible to ensure a safe environment.

We as a family looks forward to continuing our memory building in Harwich Port and at Seawind.

    A Harwich Port Gem

We have been been guests at the Seawind for the last 2 summers, 4 weeks in total. It’s a clean, modern, comfortable house that has many thoughtful details, all of which make it feel less like a rental, and more like a home.

Short walk (for 3 generations) to a nice swimming and walking beach. Quick walk to the center of town for restaurants, shops, and entertainment.

Gavin, the owner, is responsive, detail oriented and helpful. Brand new grills, efficient washer and dryer, fully-outfitted kitchen, and relaxing deck will make your stay easy and comfortable. show more show less

Based in Toronto, my family grew up summering in Harwich Port, and fell in love with it. I taught sailing at the local yacht club, and vowed to to one day have a Cape Cod home. When I had children of my own, I was lucky enough to be able to find Seawind, and our best times were either sharing the home and the good times with another couple and their children, or with my parents.

Now in a second blended family, all our children are now ''grown up'' (or at least, until they need something), and as we prefer the quieter spring and fall, the home is available for other families to enjoy the magic of the Cape as we once did.

Both of us run our own businesses - and with 5 kids, we well appreciate both how important it is to have a worry-free break - and secure those special lifetime memories. We promise to make sure your stay at Seawind is a great experience your family will appreciate forever.

Professionally, the founder of Canada's Clean50 Awards & sustainability search firm Delta Management Group. Trying to slow down climate change and save the world! And - as you'll see on arrival amidst all the nautical decor - an avid sailor!

My favorite times at Seawind are just back from the beach, on the back deck with a beer - or enjoying a late BBQ dinner and a glass of wine on the back deck, stars overhead, and either music on the speakers or listening to the waves break on the beach.

What is special about this property?
The magic of Seawind for us is how it is both secluded - and yet also close to everything! This past spring we had numerous visits from rabbits and hawks, and even a fox and a deer!

As the largest lot in the neighborhood, with over 60 trees, we have both privacy and a little more peace and quiet when we want it - but the proximity to everything is amazing. 5 minutes to the beach, or to CVS and Dunkin as well as immediate access to plenty of other families / kids nearby. And a ten minute walk to ''downtown'' HarwichPort.

Our guests appreciate having two yards and lots of space to run around - without worrying about traffic nearby. And of course, the great beach so nearby. We've been told the other things that make us unique is how well equipped the house is, the ample space in the finished basement - room for kids to craft, play games or watch TV - and lots of room to separate kids from each other if they need some ''time out''.

One of the reasons we have so many repeat guests is our focus on details: We do everything we can to make sure that every family who visits has the same great experience. It's a combination of having great cleaners, a responsive property manager next door, and most importantly, a really well equipped, well maintained home, with modern appliances, every amenity - and lots of toys, books & puzzles to occupy kids on an inevitable rain day.

Seawind is also a historical site: the location of the first anti-slavery meeting in New England!

What is special about your town?
Harwich Port offers lots of choices - and at Seawind, we are walking distance to all of it!

Seawind is less than a 5 minute WALK to:
    - The warm Ocean Street beach on Nantucket Sound - great swimming, shells and sand.
    - CVS, Dunkin Donuts, True Value
    - ''Art in the Park'' display every Monday

    A 7-10 minute walk to:
    - 14 really great choices for food!
    - the world's best pizza from George's (or call for delivery) repeatedly voted best on the Lower Cape
    - 9 great restaurants offering a wide range of dining experiences from breakfast diner, to ''family'' to local hot spots, and, at the top end of the culinary scale, the Zagat rated Sea Grille - with a repeat James Beard House chef.
    - 3 sandwich cafes / coffee shops.
    - Best liquor store on the Lower Cape
    - 9 hole golf course (perfect for a low pressure first game for a new golfer)
    - Wednesday night ''live music nights'' on Main Street!

And only a 5-7 minute drive to:
    - Groceries
    - one of the top public 18 hole golf courses in the country
    - Mini Golf
    - Bike Paths
    - Go Karts
    - Trampolines
    - Bumper boats
    - 3 different fresh water ponds
    - public tennis courts, basketball courts and skatepark
    - Harwich Mariners' Cape Baseball home field
    - Brewster Whitecaps' Cape Baseball home field
    - multiple waterfront dining choices
