Our family had been to Harwich Port three times over the last fifteen or so years, and could never find a house in a location that was both walkable to the beach and to town. But now we have! This house is awesome - very clean, beautifully decorated (no kitsch anywhere) with a finished basement, very cute patio and outdoor shower. It is SO CLOSE to the town beach. It was an easy walk for our littlest kids (who are 6). Also really nice that it's on a dead-end street. It's very quiet! Lots of other families staying in the neighborhood, too. Harwich Port is a great little town, with shops, cafes, restaurants and a cute bookstore. I would definitely recommend Marilyn's house!

Updated house within walking distance to beach and warm waters of Nantucket Sound. Easy walk to town with cafes restaurants, two bookstores and a candy store--plus Sundae School, one of the best ice cream shops on the Cape.

This house was everything they say it is! Very clean and easy walking to beach and town.

As a renter from out of state, this house had everything we would need for vacationing at the cape. It had a cozy welcoming feel yet roomy enough so you did not feel cramped as you would in many cape houses. The location was great as we could walk to the town center (lots of cute little shops, bars, and restaurants) as well as the beach and CVS (should you need last minute items). I would definitely rent this house again. Thank you Marilyn!

This is an absolutely beautiful home. All the rooms are spacious and pristinely clean, with very comfortable seating and well lit for reading, games, or just lounging with family and friends. This house has all you might need in terms of an outside seating area, outside shower, beach toys, chairs, books, games, kitchen supplies, etc. bedrooms and bathrooms are beautifully decorated. The location is also a major plus! The owner is gracious and made the rental process easy. I would highly recommend this home - definitely a 5 out of 5 star choice.

This home is quite exceptional. Everything was shiny clean and easy to find in the home. All the kitchen utensils you could want were there for cooking most anything. Maybe not an air fryer. The kitchen was stocked with salt, pepper, sugar, spices, etc. the house was very spacious for 2 grandparents, 2 adult children and 2 grandchildren. It is very nicely located to the beach and to restaurants and fish markets and kids activities.

Marilyn is very responsive and this house has everything and more! It's very clean, has plenty of room and most importantly it's close to the beach! I would highly recommend this house to anyone.

We had a wonderful stay in Harwich Port. Great location! It is an easy walk to the beach and to the little village. Plus getting to other points on the Cape was easy from this location. The neighborhood is welcoming, walkable, and oh so cute.

The house was very clean and had everything we needed! The kitchen was particularly well appointed with cooking and baking items. We ate in quite a bit and never came across anything we needed that we could not locate in the kitchen cabinets. We had plenty of room for 5 adults and one toddler. The highchair and crib were a big bonus, as were the beach buggy and sand toys.

The homeowner was very helpful and super quick to respond when we had questions. I would highly recommend this house!

This home is exceptional. We have rented several homes in Harwich Port over many years and this was top of the list. The owner is very responsive and helpful. The home is outfitted with everything you could want and is clearly a well loved home - very comfortable, cozy furniture with excellent traffic flow. Excellent beach chairs and lots of them. We especially appreciated that the kitchen was so well stocked (although, as it turned out we did not cook there much - so many great restaurants to try!) and the recycling pickup. Many homes provide only the bare essentials and we have not had the luxury of recycling pickup in any of the other houses we have rented.

We look forward to staying here again sometime.

Everything about our stay was perfect! The location is an easy walk to the local beach or into to town for refreshments. It is also well situated to explore other parts of the Cape like the Cape Cod rail trail or the National Seashore.

The house itself is lovely. Kitchen is modern and well equipped with everything might need. Plenty of room to gather together to play games or do a puzzle.

The whole experience from initial point of contact with the owner to locking the door at the end of the week was easy, professional, honest and just perfect!

One of the reasons we chose Marilyn's home for a weekend wedding stay was its perfect location near the beach and the downtown. Although the cold, rainy miserable weather dashed our hopes for walks to the beach and town, the house turned out to be a wonderful spot for our family to gather inside.

The layout was great for our family of six, stylishly decorated with comfortable furnishings and a well-appointed kitchen. The house was immaculate and included a full complement of cleaning and laundry supplies. Marilyn was also super-responsive to any questions I had.

I would highly recommend this home for a family vacation.

We had a wonderful stay over the Labor Day weekend. The home is very well maintained and and the location is perfect. In the morning it's a short walk to get coffee and then the beach is in the neighborhood. There are also a few restaurants about a half mile away. The owners were wonderful to work with and any questions we had were immediately answered. The owners provided a care package of hand sanitizers and Clorox wipes which was particularly thoughtful with COVID-19. We would highly recommend this property.

My family of six was so happy with our stay here! We have two boys, two adults and two grandparents and all six of us found a house we all agreed is our favorite! It's an easy walk to town and to the beach and an easy (5 minutes!) drive to tons of kids attractions (go carts, bumper boats, mini putt-putt, ice cream, etc). The house has a lovely side yard and BBQ with outdoor seating. And everything is included (sheets, towels, beach chairs, etc.). Makes packing a breeze. The owner, Marilyn, is FANTASTIC. Hands down the most responsive, responsible, friendly and organized owner I have ever worked with. I highly recommend it for a great vacation!

I can't say enough good things about this rental. Clean doesn't begin to describe the condition; it was immaculate. So appreciated at any time, but particularly now with covid. The owner Marilyn is very hands on. She told me in detail how the house would be cleaned and it was also written down in her welcome notebook. She is very responsive and answered texts right away. The house is very comfortable and roomy and equipped with everything including beach stuff. We were 2 adlults and 4 kids and we felt we had plenty of room and privacy. The location was perfect for us as we could walk to the nearby beach and also into the cute little downtown area with its shops and restaurants. Everything was easy and peaceful. We stayed two weeks.

5 adults and two children stayed at 7 Essex for one week this summer, our 10th year staying here. The house is always immaculate, the beds are comfortable, the space is pleasingly decorated and outfitted with everything a group might want or need to have a wonderful experience. Marilyn makes sure that everything we need for a pleasant stay is available: Including beach chairs, umbrellas, and toys, and a buggy to carry them easily as you walk to the beach, only 2 blocks away! The house, while in easy walking distance to town and shops there, is very family friendly and nicely quiet at night. We are fortunate to have found this gem of a vacation place, the only thing that would make this better for us is being able to stay longer!

This house was amazing! So clean and put together. Everything was there we could possibly need, A crib for the baby, outdoor grill, even TONS of beach stuff like chairs, toys, and beach umbrellas. This truly felt like our home away from home. Will be staying here every year we come back to the cape. Really our first truly 5 star rental we have had in all of our years of going to cape cod!

My family stayed here for the first time in June and we plan to return many times in the future. Located at the end of a dead end street, the private location is ideal for families with young children. We loved the newer house and all its amenities, including a stocked kitchen with food staples, beach equipment and good quality furniture. A five minute walk to the beach and town center is very convenient.

We rented this property again and it was fantastic! The house is extremely well stocked with anything you might need for a relaxing beach getaway. You can't beat the location, just a short walk to the beach. The owners have a fantastic welcome guide with info on the house and Harwich, which I so appreciate! The house in incredibly clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Our daughter loves the outdoor shower and it's nice to have an outdoor patio area and yard as well as a huge kitchen inside. We always walk up to Music in the Port and of course, Sundae School. Highly recommend.

Couldn’t be happier with the beautiful home down the block from the beach. Everything you need plus spotless throughout. This is a fabulous family rental and Marilyn is a very caring owner who makes sure all is perfect for your stay!

My family and I have been renting this home from Marilyn for 7 summers now. There is plenty of comfortable living and sleeping room for our multi generational family of 7. We often cook dinner in the home, and have never been wanting for a utensil, pan, dish, cutting board, and so on. The house is a short walk to Dunkin Donuts and CVS which is handy for coffee and the paper. It's also a short walk in to town where all of the cute shops and restaurants are. Most importantly, it's a short flat walk to the beach! Great for families with young kids, grandparents, or any situation where you need to the flexibility to go back and forth from the beach to use the bathroom, grab a drink, take a nap, etc. The house is always clean with everything in good working order when we arrive. You can tell that Marilyn takes very good care of her home.

This is our 3rd time staying at this location in Harwichport, and we absolutely LOVE it! The home is perfectly appointed for our family of 7. Besides the groceries and our clothing and toiletries, there was nothing we needed to bring. We walked to town for shopping and dining, we walked to the beach for relaxation, and we enjoyed our family time together.

Over the years we have vacationed at several nice homes in Harwichport. This was, without a doubt, the best in terms of having everything a Cape Cod vacationer would possibly need or want. Everyone in our family liked the home; in fact our daughter-in-law thought it would be nice for us to buy this rental. It was the perfect vacation home for us, our son and daughter -in-law and our 2 year old twin grandchildren!

This was our first time staying in Harwichport and we would absolutely stay again. The house was perfect for our family of 5 including a 1 year old. We couldn’t ask for a more convenient location with easy walks to the beach and center with great restaurants and shops. We are looking forward to staying here again

This was our second time staying at this property and it was once again wonderful! The home has everything you could need or want, it is fully stocked with towels, pots & pans, and beach supplies. The home is large enough where someone could sneak off and nap while not being distracted by a family game in another room. The location is phenomenal -- walk to the beautiful beach, or in to town, you can’t beat it! So many new family memories made. Truly a magnificent family vacation!

We were so glad we rented this house! Friends told us about their fantastic experience with it, and we couldn’t agree more. The location was perfect (very short walk through a gorgeous, quiet neighborhood to the beach or Main Street) and the host could not have been nicer. The property is beautiful, clean, spacious, and stocked with everything you need and then some (fully stocked kitchen, quality beach umbrellas, rolling beach cart, ample beach towels, hair dryers, books shelves full of games, etc.) This experience helped make for a TREMENDOUS vacation and we can’t wait to go back. We've been staying at this property for 20+ years and counting! My family has been in the hotel in restaurant business on Cape Cod for more than 50 years where I worked many a summer during my youth. As a hospitality insider let's just say my standards are very high. With a young family of my own I wanted to stay in a "cottage" and was thrilled to stumble upon this gem when looking for a rental years ago.

I've rented this lovely home in summer, fall and winter. It's hands-down our favorite spot. This house is absolutely impeccable, in fact when my brother stopped by for a visit his jaw dropped as he commented, "This is a rental? I'd love this as year-round home!!"

Marilyn has paid attention to every detail imaginable. From the well-stocked kitchen where she has regularly replaced and updated appliances over the years, to the beautifully decorated common areas, as well as the pretty bedrooms. Note: I've had several back surgeries and the mattresses are extremely comfortable. Fabulous!!

Marilyn has taken the time to compile a binder listing house details, phone numbers one might need, beach and restaurant info , area highlights, etc. In addition, she lives nearby and is always at the ready to help if needed. She's a truly pleasant hostess who goes above and beyond in every way!!

In addition, the location is perfect! My twin daughters were 2 years old when we first started renting here. As they grew, the quiet, safe neighborhood was perfect for riding tricycles to bikes, and we've always been grateful for the easy, very short stroll to the beach. My girls (now 22, wow!) and my husband and I love the walk to town with its variety of fabulous shops and great eateries. We've also frequented the the art shows on the Green and music in The Port!!

This rental has something for all ages and is an absolute gem!! We have always, and will for years to come, loved this spot and recommend it to everyone!!

This house was an awesome spot for our family week. We had plenty of space to sleep, it was a 2-5 min walk to the beach (we looked on our GPS when we were seeing which way to the beach and it’s literally 900 feet from the house to the beach.), and walking distance to the coolest little downtown in Harwitchport. A short drive to the ferry where we headed to Nantucket made this place really unbelievable.

Whenever we go to a rental we are worried it won’t be “as advertised,” but this place was EVEN BETTER!!! My wife was kind of upset that it was decorated nicer then our real house. The place was beautiful inside and out! The house is on a dead end street so it was perfect for the kids. They could play in the yard without cars flying through (this also meant it was nice and quiet).

The finished basement with bedroom was a big plus! The teenager was able to “sleep in” down there without us waking them up to early!!

Upstairs 3 bedrooms were all great as well. There was even a crib for us to use in the “kids room” with two other single beds. So we didn’t need to bring the pack and play!!! (Less to pack is always great.)

The kitchen was AMAZING for cooking so we didn’t have to eat out every meal. The kitchen wasn’t just fully equipped, but it was a step above that.

The outdoor shower (something we look forward to all year) was perfect to hop into after walking home from the beach.

Marilyn, the owner, was so pleasant, nice, and easy to deal with.

The place was spotless!! We have been coming to the Cape for years, and this house was by far the nicest rental we have ever stayed in...above and beyond in every way.

We have definitely found our “forever rental” each year we can come back to the Cape!

If you are looking for a relaxing vacation, this is not the home for you. We have been renting on the Cape for over twenty years, including a decade with one home and six years with another, and have never received a single complaint - until Marilyn. We rented this home for three years and each year we'd receive some nit picky complaint after we left, like there's sand in the tub. We went above and beyond to treat the house with care - such as no wet suits, sweeping daily, watering the flowers, and yes, wiping out the tub - but she was never satisfied. Also, the quality of the house declined over the time we were there - downstairs bedroom was musty last year, sparse shower head in bathroom that is mostly clogged and "antique" dresser in bedroom that smells so bad that clothes have to be put on floor in closet.

When we made her aware of these shortcomings, she took offense, rather than address them. Close neighbors for past two years were late night party-ers too. We also have always left extra kitchen/laundry/bathroom supplies which was never acknowledged. After her comments the first year, we walked on eggshells in this house. We vacation all over the world and again have never once had a complaint from a landlord. To be clear, we are not a messy family and border on neat freaks. If you do choose to try this rental, be prepared for the aftermath.

Our week in Harwichport did not disappoint! This adorable house is extremely well appointed with all the comforts of home, and it fit our family of 6 perfectly. The location is ideal -- a short walk to the beach and a short walk to town. We parked our cars and forgot about them for seven days (except for the short ride to the golf course). Our family's reunion/vacation was idyllic, and we can't wait to visit again.

This was our second year staying here and it was just as amazing as the first time. The house is super clean and well stocked with everything you'd want to have a relaxing stay with family near the beach. There is plenty of space for everyone yet it feels cozy too. The kitchen is probably one of the best I've experienced! The proximity to the beach cannot be beat. We loved being close to the main area of Harwich Port and took several walks to Sundae School, the Wednesday night music event, and the fun shops. Marilyn is easy to reach and has very clear instructions about the house, fun facts about the neighborhood, games and books for rainy days, local recommendations, etc... I would HIGHLY recommend staying here. So much so we plan on returning again next year!

This is by far one of the best rental homes we've ever stayed in. The home was roomy, spotless, and very comfortable. The owners were very welcoming, and it was obvious by the condition of the home that they were willing to go the extra mile to make us happy.

The kitchen was so well stocked. All we had to do was bring the food we needed. All the utensils, pots/pans, spices, etc. you'll need. I've never been in a rental with such a ready-to-go kitchen. Plenty of counter space and cabinets to store food. It was great that it opened up to the dining room and with the BBQ just outside the door. We spent so much time here with family discussions and laughter. The bedrooms were roomy, with comfortable mattresses. Plenty of sheets, blankets, pillows. Also, a fully finished basement with beds - it was great for our older kids as a "place of their own." And air conditioned as well - not very common for a rental in the Cape.

The bathrooms were clean and well kept. Plenty of clean bathroom towels and sheets. There was a large capacity washer and dryer - made doing laundry very convenient - a clothesline too for hanging towels when returning from the beach. The outdoor shower was excellent. There is nothing like an outdoor shower with the cool ocean breeze.

The home has plenty of beach towels and a shed full of beach equipment - umbrellas, toys, boogie boards, chairs, and even a wagon to get to the beach, which is less than 600 steps away (yes, I counted them). Close to restaurants, stores, ice cream shops. It was a great location!

In short - Spacious, excellent location, plenty of amenities, beach supplies, and very well kept. You will NOT be disappointed!

We have been renting this house for the last few years, and it has everything you need to feel comfortable and stress free on vacation at the Cape! I love the location, The house and our vacation wouldn't be the same without renting this house every summer. I hope to one day own a summer house like this because it truly is a treat and a dream come true!

As promised, this was a very comfortable, well-equipped home. The kitchen is really pleasant to use and is roomy and has many staples. We loved the location, an easy walk to both the beach and to shops and restaurants in town. We were there during a quiet week (pre-July 4), so the close proximity of neighbors was not an issue.

This is not a rental house - this is a HOME. Marilyn and Dan have created a rare opportunity for Cape Cod renters by providing a warm, inviting, immaculate, and tastefully decorated home that is fully furnished with every amenity and updated top to bottom. Not only that, the location/neighborhood is PERFECT: walk to town, walk to beach, on a quiet & safe street. What more can you ask for? Oh wait, that's right - as landlords, they are in close proximity and incredibly wonderful to work with. This one is a no-brainer. Plan your summer stay early - this one starts to book up in December and will be fully booked by the end of January.

The house is beautiful and has everything you could need! The location is wonderful. A quick, short walk to the beach as well as restaurants and shops. It was a great place to relax and enjoy our vacation. Highly recommended!!

Wonderful Home in a Great Area
My wife and I, as well as my sister and husband from England enjoyed this wonderful place for a week this September. Very, very clean and well equipped. Pride of ownership was obvious. The beauty of this place is its location. Short walk to the beach as well as to town. Harwichport is much more unspoiled than many of the areas of the cape. Great restaurants within walking distance. Highly recommend.

This house was fantastic for our family of five - two teens and a 10-year-old were each able to enjoy their own room, master was roomy and comfortable. House was incredibly clean and well-appointed, TV's and wi-fi worked beautifully. Close to town, easy walk to beach, beautiful neighborhood. We would come back again and again!

Our family truly savored our vacation in this fabulous home and location. The house was beautiful, extremely well appointed with everything we could have possibly needed or wanted. The beach on Nantucket Sound was an easy walk, just down the street, and very family friendly. We frequently strolled to Harwichport center and enjoyed the shops and restaurants as we passed away the summer evenings. Our stay was perfection!

Upon entering, the house was sparkling it was so clean which is always very comforting. All of the amenities of home were provided which made things much easier when realizing I might have forgotten something when packing. I did have one question for the owner and she was easily accessible and got right back to me which was also a plus. The walking distance to the beach as well as to shops and restaurants was what we were looking for and this location did not disappoint. We usually hit the same restaurants when we are in the area and would recommend the following: The Port, The Hot Stove, Ocean House, The Marshside & Mahoney's - of course Clancy's is always an easy stop as well. I would definitely recommend this property to a friend. Recommended for: Families with Teenagers, Sightseeing, Girls Getaway, Age 55+, Families with Young Children
