    Home Away From Home

What an ideal spot for a family vacation! Steps to the private beach, bikes provided for a ride through the beautiful neighborhood, a meticulously kept property filled with flowers, a grill and patio for relaxing dinners, even an outdoor shower! This home is beautifully maintained and includes everything you would need for your family's stay. Beach towels and chairs, beach toys and wagons, washer/dryer and detergent, newly renovated and fully equipped kitchen, all bedding, even shampoos! As Cheryl says, "All you need to bring is your suitcase!" We returned this July after our stay last year. We have truly enjoyed this home, the many activities available in the area, and amazing restaurants. What a pleasure it has been to meet the thoughtful, gracious homeowner, Cheryl! show more show less

    Ideal Cape Vacation Home!

We came back again after an amazing first stay in July 2021. The house is spacious with a beautiful fenced in yard and patio with a large gas grill. It was so comfortable for a family vacation. The short walk to a private beach made everything easy, along with a fully stocked supply of beach towels, chairs, umbrellas and toys. Inside, the house had all the amenities of a five-star hotel: linens, bathroom and kitchen supplies. It allowed us to fully relax. Our family favorite is the outdoor shower! Cheryl, the owner has put a lot of TLC into this home and did everything possible to make our stay perfect. She is a pleasure to deal with. We will come back again! show more show less

    This house has it all!

What a wonderful vacation home! This house truly has it all. Where to start?

Outside... The driveway is plenty big for 4 cars. The garage is supplied with a washer / dryer, tons of laundry detergent, an extra fridge, sand toys, beach buggy, bikes galore, kites, and tons of beach towels. The backyard has an amazing outdoor shower (super awesome water pressure) stocked with shampoo & conditioner, clothes line to dry suits, patio table / chairs / umbrella, and a Weber grill.

Kitchen... It has tons of pots, pans, Chatham pottery plates, cute kid friendly plates, paper plates, napkins, plastic cups, sugar, coffee filters, coffee pot, toaster, toaster oven, and salt / pepper.

Bathrooms... The bathrooms are clean. They are stocked with tons of towels, toilet paper, hand soap, shampoo & conditioner, and cleaning supplies. I even found bath bombs in there. Note: Both indoor showers are made with short folks in mind. My husband (6'2") and myself (5'8") found it much easier to shower outside.

Bedrooms... Each room has AC and is very comfortable. Tons of storage for clothing and anything else you may have brought. Three out of the four bedrooms have queen beds and the last has 4 twins and a crib.

The owner... Cheryl is wonderful. She was such a welcoming person. Greeted us with a smile and a basket of goodies. She told us to just bring ourselves, clothes, and personal items (makeup, deodorant, toothbrush & paste, sunscreen). Really, honestly... that is all you need to pack.

The area... Star Market and CVS are 5 minutes from the house and has everything you may need. The beach is a 5 minute walk (about 4 houses away). Long Pond is a must see and it's only 15 minutes away. There are many attractions in the area as well (go-carts, mini-golf, trampolines, etc.). Tons of restaurants. It really is the perfect location on the Cape.

All in all, bring only your clothes and personal items. Head to the amazing beach and enjoy!

This is an ideal house for a family vacation. This is our third year renting this house. In the past we rented for only one week but this year we stayed for two weeks. The recent renovations to the kitchen and family room were beautifully done. The house is large enough where everyone has their own space and you don't feel cramped or on top of one another. The bedrooms are spacious and beautifully furnished and decorated. The house is spotless. The owner takes great pride in the house and personally greets you when you arrive. The backyard patio is great for entertaining, eating or reading. The short walk to the beach is convenient since you are not packing up a car and driving to the beach. The beach can be enjoyed at any time of the day and the surrounding streets are very quiet, making them ideal for walks or bike rides with the kids. We look forward to returning next year. show more show less

Great Location. Every town on the Cape has its own character and style. Harwich has the right mix of medium to upscale housing, a great historic center, quaint downtown shops and limited tourist traps (mini-golf, souvenir stands, fast food etc). The house is close to big grocery stores, discount liquor and great seafood - what more do you need on vacation. Have George's Fish Market cook and cut your lobster for you and bring it back to the house - it will still be hot after only a seven minute drive. The kitchen is well stocked and you are able to cook just like being at home either inside or out on the grill.

The house is in a very quiet, private residential area with narrow streets and speed bumps that cut traffic drastically and make it safe to walk or bike the neighborhood. Most of the homes are upscale and very well maintained on lush landscaped lots and this house is no exception. The plantings and flowers are lovely and its great to have cool green grass to walk on after being at the beach. The private patio is relaxing and perfect for outdoor dining and cooking. The neighborhood houses located right on the water are multi-million dollar mansions so you are in good company.

The house is a short five minute walk to a private beach on Nantucket sound (one of the largest on the Cape), which is a great place for swimming, sunning, napping, or walking. There are no crowds, you can go back to the house for lunch and you do not have to fight any crowds or get in a car.

The Cape has lots of choices when it comes to beach swimming and everyone has their own opinion. Nantucket sound is the best as the water is more gentle (unlike beaches on the National Seashore which are on the Atlantic and have great surf, but require you to fight traffic, walk a long distance, mingle with the crowds and sometimes take a bus, all while paying for the privilege.) Beaches on the bay side require a long walk twice a day as the tides go way out.

The house listing is extremely accurate, but current pictures of the kitchen and den are old. Substantial remodeling has taken place with good architectural style and attention to amenities like flat panel TVs, wireless internet, upscale appliances etc.

The owner takes personal pride and interest in the care of the property, participating personally in the weekly cleaning and meeting each guest as they arrive. You will not be dealing with a real estate agent who just hands out keys and barely knows where the property is, like so many rentals on the Cape. The house was very clean, neat and in good repair with evidence of remodeling before the 2011 season started. The house was well stocked with towels, beach chairs, outdoor dining furniture, beach carts, coolers etc.

The homeowner provided information/brochures about the area before we arrived and made great suggestions for shopping and eating out. The Ocean House which is close by is one of the few, upscale restaurants directly on the water with great water views, service and food. Its a great place for the special dinner while on the Cape. Arrive early before the sun goes down so you can enjoy the view! Overall it was a great, relaxing vacation in a charming home. Enjoy!

This attractive property is conveniently located. The house location is very private and yet you are only minutes away from shopping, dining and family activities. This is a very comfortable home with many amenities such as the outdoor patio, gas grill, outdoor shower, beach chairs and beach umbrellas. All of these contribute to a relaxing and stress free vacation. There is virtually no traffic on the street so it is safe for children to play and ride their bikes and scooters. With the beach being only a short walk from the house, it eliminates the need to pack up the car and drive. You can enjoy the beach at any time of day. This is the second time that I have rented this house and look forward to renting it again. show more show less

This was a wonderful spot for a summer vacation. The beach was close by and perfect for our children who are 6 and 9. The location is great with shops and supermarkets and activities within an easy drive. Their garden is lovely and well-cared for. The owners were helpful and friendly and I would recommend it for families looking for a nice, quiet place to vacation."

My second grade daughter recently had an assignment to write about a family tradition. She choose to write about our summer vacation on Cape Cod. She started with a list of her favorite things about our vacation. Walking up the street to the beach every morning to collect sea glass, shells, and rocks with Nana and Pa, riding her bike around the neighborhood, walking on the sand bar "way out" in the ocean, relaxing on the patio surrounded by all the beautiful flowers, spending all day at the beach, and having everything we need so we don't have to put that big box on the roof of the car. I thought her list was 100% accurate. We have stayed here for a number of years, and it is the perfect Cape Cod vacation home. Cheryl and her family have a beautiful home, and we're so lucky to enjoy it for one week every summer show more show less

"This is the perfect place to spend a week on The Cape. The house was much more than we expected--the pictures don't do the private patio and flowers justice. It really is unfair to describe this house as a summer or vacation "rental." Cheryl and her family take great care of their house on The Cape. Every morning started with a walk on the beach with Nana and Pa to search for shells and sea glass before breakfast. A full day at the beach with kids is easy with the house so close. The quiet neighborhood was a great place for our kids to learn to ride their bikes without training wheels! We are fortunate to have found such a great vacation destination. We look forward spending one week every summer at this beautiful home. See you in July! Melissa Murray, New Jersey" show more show less

We enjoyed our stay at this house so much that we went back for a second week later in the summer. We had breakfast every morning on the patio and relaxed outside after a day at the beach--the outdoor shower was a big hit. We played ball in the yard and grilled dinners all the time. The kid-friendly beach is extremely close and you can ride your bikes safely all around the neighborhood. Easy to get to Chatham, Falmouth and the island ferries. I love that the house came with beach chairs, toys and towels. What more do you need? Highly recommended! show more show less
