The Freedom House is back to rent for the summer of 2023! Charming Cape Cod beach home on Main Street just across from Saquatucket Harbor and within walking distance to downtown Harwich Port and Bank Street Beach!

This charming, updated Cape Cod beach house is a short walk to everything you need for a vacation to remember. Bank Street Beach is nearby with the soft white sand and warm waters of Nantucket Sound, as well as quaint Harwich Port with restaurants, galleries, and shopping. Walk to town and enjoy the sights and many restaurants are offering delicious take out and outside dining options. Convenient to everything with Saquatucket Harbor directly across the street where you can catch the Freedom Ferry to Nantucket for the day.

This four bedroom/two full bath home has plenty of room inside and out for large families and groups of friends adventuring together. The main level has a well stocked kitchen/dining area with a sun room off to the side, spacious living/dining room and a family room overlooking the back yard with one full bathroom. Also on the first floor is also a large utility room with washer and dryer and space to store all your fun essentials like golf clubs, cooler and beach chairs. The second floor has all 4 bedrooms, accommodating 10 people plus a newly renovated bathroom. All bedrooms (1 queen and a twin, 2 twins, 3 twins and 1 full) have individual air conditioners for your summer comfort. Enjoy your lobster feasts and cooking outdoors on the grill around the fire-pit and picnic table in the fenced and private back yard with festive lights!

Bring your boat! We offer free boat parking and just across the street you can launch your boat at Saquatucket Harbor one of the largest ramp facilities on the Nantucket Sound side of the Cape. This ramp is useable at all tides with a channel average of 6ft at low tide making it an ideal location to access Nantucket Sound, Monomoy, and east of Chatham.

Our professional cleaners are making extraordinary efforts to sanitize and disinfect the Freedom House to assure the safety of all our guests.

    Nice week away

    Perfect location. We knew what we wanted to see/visit on the cape and this was a great spot for us to stay. The space in the house was terrific. Plenty of room for our extended family. The porch was a perfect play area for our toddlers as was the fenced in yard space.
    Weather cooperated and we were able to enjoy an evening fire in the fire pit too.

    The house was in a great location! Ann was great to work and made sure we had everything we needed and even checked in with us a few times during our 2 week stay. The house was all new inside which was nice and the backyard is great. We spent a lot of time around the fire pit with wine and roasting marshmallows!! The house was very clean and had everything we needed for our 2 week stay!

    What a find the Freedom House is!

    We loved our stay at the Freedom House.... spacious home with old school charm yet all the updates! Adorably decorated and very clean. The bedding was so soft & cozy.
    Close to everything.... beaches, shopping, restaurants and ice cream! We loved the private fenced in yard and firepit. Plenty of parking.

    Jack and Ann could not have been more accommodating and were the best hosts.
    We will most definitely be back!

    I'm Ann and I help manage the Freedom House and coordinate the logistics for all our guests. I live in Harwich Port year round and love helping others come and enjoy this beautiful place! Jack is the owner of the Freedom House and the Freedom Ferry to Nantucket which is docked across the street. Between Jack and I, we can help you plan a great vacation on Cape Cod!

    What is special about this property?
    Freedom House is a charming Cape Cod Beach house with a great location on Main Street! If you can't be on the waterfront, this location is the next best thing! You can walk across the street for a full service marina which provides ferry service to Nantucket or you can launch your boat! Short walk to restaurants, shopping, beach or walk across the street to enjoy the views of Saquatucket Harbor. Our location makes it very convenient to take a short drive to explore the other charming Cape Cod Towns as well. Boat Trailer parking is available for free as well.

    What is special about your town?
    Harwich Port is full of sand and sea and life. It has beautiful beaches along Nantucket Sound, fun little shops and galleries along Route 28, cozy pubs and restaurants, beautiful spired churches and a gem of a golf course. There are so many aquatic activities available: quiet canoeing through the great marshes, deep sea fishing out of the harbors, fly fishing in several of the smaller ponds and swimming, sunbathing and walking on the beautiful beaches. The Cape Cod Rail Trail is just 2 miles away which has 25.5 miles of paved rail trail to enjoy a bike ride all the way to the Cape Cod National Seashore. The Freedom House is less then a mile walk to Bank Street Beach and it is across the street from Saquatucket Harbor and just a few minute walk to scenic Wychmere Harbor.
