Description

Description

We bought this home in 2009 and made Cape Cod our primary vacation spot. Fast forward to 2023 we are now full time residents and live in Orleans. We decided to share our Harwich getaway with you.

Tucked in a nice neighborhood with deeded rights to Aunt Edie’s pond, we are Centrally located near Cranberry Valley golf course & White House field (home of the Mariners baseball team) close to route 6 (exit 10)now exit 82, convenient to bike path and a short drive or bike ride to bank street beach. Plenty of activities nearby - go carts, mini golf, bumper boats and much more. Dog friendly rental with a walking trail across the road.

Our house has three bedrooms; two with queen size beds, one with 1 full and 1 twin, and a full sized futon. The living room has a queen sleeper sofa. The main living space is open with a full kitchen adjacent to the dining and living rooms. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook in or cookout.

The home is situated on a flat property with trees and grassy areas perfect for horseshoes, bocce, or corn hole. There’s a raised bed garden with lettuce, tomatoes and peppers. We encourage you to harvest the veggies as they ripen. There’s also a fire pit with comfy Adirondack chairs for you to sit and roast marshmallows or relax after a busy day at the beach.

While staying at the Finn Inn you will be just a short drive from many local attractions. Route 6 is ½ mile away giving you easy access to the entire Cape. Cranberry Valley Golf Course is less than 1 mile as is the Harwich community center (weight room and gym with indoor basketball & organized activities for kids). Brooks Park and Brooks free library are 1.5 miles away as is Harwich Center. Many restaurants are available in Harwich and Harwich Port all within a 5-10 minute drive but also bikeable. The Cape Cod Rail Trail is about a mile away with parking but is also an easy bike ride.

We would love the opportunity to host you this summer.

    Perfect Cape Getaway!

We loved staying at the Finn Inn! We were only there for a short 2 night stay over Labor day weekend but we would love to go back for a longer stay. The house was exactly as advertised - clean, comfortable and had EVERYTHING we needed. It was great that we could bring our dog too. You will not be disappointed if you stay here!

    Perfect!

This home in Harwich provided a peaceful retreat with an at-home feeling. The house has everything needed for a great vacation. While most of the time we didn't need the air conditioning, when we did use the units they made the house comfortable. Our dog was right at home! The porch and back yard are great spaces for outdoor cooking and dining, games, and even a seasonal vegetable and herb garden. Close to everything, yet set apart, this home in Harwich is one we would love to visit again.

Suzanne is a great host, quick to reply, and provides tons of ideas and useful information for your trip to the Cape. We visited beaches, a nearby Lavender farm, local vegetable stands, Chatham, (great fun), Orleans, Yarmouth, Hyannis and Truro Vineyards. The pirate museum is an amazing place full of local history.

The Finn Inn does not disappoint! Thank you for a lovely, memorable vacation!

Great Stay a the "Finn Inn"

We had a great stay here! The house was great and as described in the listing. We were very excited to be able to bring our dog on vacation with us. They had everything that we needed at the house. We had a couple of small issues and the owners were very quick to respond and help out. We would absolutely come back and we recommend it!

    Wonderful vacation home!

Our young family of 4 had a 'finntastic' time here! You can tell that this house as been loved and cared for. It's not your typical rental house filled with IKEA furniture and it made it much more comfortable of a stay. We enjoyed having our breakfast every morning and a night cap on their beautiful composite deck which they had partially covered. Sue and Bill were extremely easy to work with and left us a bunch of resources of events that were happening that week and suggestions for restaurants which were spot on. We brought our dogs with us and it was a great place to walk them with the Conservation Land across the street. The only thing to note about this house was that there was only 1 bathroom but there was an outdoor shower to rinse off after the beach. The location was great because it was a short drive to 28 or 6. Easy to get around. We recommend taking a trip to Marion's as well for a pie or cinnamon roll! show more show less

Idyllic two weeks on Cape Cod

My husband and I spent two weeks with some family and friends at the "Finn Inn" with our two small dogs. The house itself is very comfortable and in great condition; we spent most nights out on the back patio grilling or making smores in the fire pit, which really made our stay! The house is in a great spot: a quiet neighborhood just a few steps to a really nice pond, plus it is walking distance to the Cape Cod Rail Trail and a conservation area with some trails. If you drive ~5min you can access beaches and also the many restaurants/bars that Harwich and Harwich Port have to offer. The house is also only a few minutes away from Whitehouse Field - we'd recommend checking out some of the Cape Cod Baseball Games. We are already planning our return visit for next summer. show more show less

We are the Finn's Bill, Sue, and Aidan, we have owned a vacation home in Harwich since 2009 and spend much of our time each summer soaking up the sun on the Cape. We are originally from New Hampshire and also have ties to New York, we recently moved from Medfield, MA (our home for 12 years) to Orleans full time. Since we now are living the dream in Orleans (a house we previously rented out for 3 summers on WeNeedaVacation #30622) we decided to share our former vacation home in Harwich. We hope that you will soon make some wonderful memories of your own at our Harwich house.

What is special about this property?
We have always loved the location of this home. You easily get to anywhere on the cape. It is located in a quiet neighborhood with a freshwater pond three houses away and we have a kayak for you to to use to explore the pond. Cranberry Valley golf course is 1 mile away as is the harwich community center. We also love coming home after a day at the beach having an outdoor shower and relaxing in the yard or on the large deck. There's a basketball hoop in the paved driveway for a game of one on one or Horse. I guess the main reason we love it are the memories we made here over the years.

What is special about your town?
Harwich has a great community center, two golf courses, many walking trails, several saltwater beaches as well as fresh water beaches. Harwich Port is just a couple miles away with loads of great restaurants and shops. The CapeCod Rail Trail goes right through the center of town and you can easily bike to Dennis, Chatham and Orleans and if you are energetic all the way to Marconi Beach in Welfleet.
