Beach House: Owner's Special with Barnstable Beach Pass

We really enjoyed our stay at your home. It was spacious, clean, and close to nearly everything we needed. We visited the nearby beaches of Dowses, Craigville, Keyes Memorial and Veterans Park. The beach pass is ideal because we never worried about paying for parking. We also took the Steamship Authority ferry from Hyannis marina to Martha's Vineyard for the day, which was easy to do, and we had no trouble with getting last minute tickets to walk onto the ferry.

On another excursion, we kayaked in South Yarmouth in the morning and spent the afternoon mini golfing. We shopped and ate dinner in various towns like Hyannis, South Dennis, South Yarmouth and of course Osterville. But we loved having the full kitchen to make our breakfast and sandwiches for lunch on the beach. We also used the grill a night or two and relaxed on the back deck with an adult beverage! We had a wonderful stay at this Cape home! It was clean, spacious, comfortable and had everything that we needed. We were very impressed with how clean and well maintained the home was. Close proximity to several beaches and conveniently located to several of the touristy attractions of the Cape. The owner was pleasant, cooperative and responsive from start to finish and made it a very enjoyable experience for us.

We stayed at this lovely home for a week last summer (in August). My family of four had so much fun exploring Osterville and all that mid-cape has to offer. We went to Dowses beach nearly every day and when we got tired of the beach we spent time at Joshua's Pond. Both were so convenient to get to and parking was never a problem. We explored Osterville Village and had dinner at Crisp one night and Wimpy's another night. Both restaurants were excellent. We also ate at various restaurants in nearby Hyannis and South Yarmouth. We grilled a few times on the deck and went out for ice cream after. Stop and Shop is conveniently located in Cotuit (town next door). And having a kitchen with everything we need made it easy to prepare all meals. We also took a ferry to Nantucket for a day's excursion right from Hyannis harbor which was only 10 min drive. If you go Sunday to Thursday, the Steamship price per person is only $55. Avoid the weekend rush and save money-we did! The house itself was immaculate. Lots of areas to hang out and relax. The 3 bedrooms are very spacious so we invited my sister and her husband and my dad to come and visit and stay an overnight. My wife and I took advantage of off season prices and stayed for an extended weekend in Osterville over The Labor Day weekend. All I can say is WOW! I had no idea how nice this part of the Cape was. First of all, we didn't struggle with traffic to get there, we didn't wait hours to get a table for dinner in any of the restaurants we visited and my wife loved all the shopping boutiques in the Village. I personally loved the beach (Dowses) especially after 2pm when it was less crowded but still a lot of fun. We packed our cooler each day and spent the morning at Joshua's Pond swimming, sunbathing and floating peacefully until we ran out of snacks. The house is conveniently located less than half a mile away so we went home for lunch or a walk and repacked the cooler for Dowses beach in the afternoon.
As for the house, it's decorated so nicely and with all new furniture- no musty Cape house smell. The king size bed is so comfortable and although we didn't need the other bedrooms, you can tell the mattresses are all new and in great shape. This year we plan to stay a full week, maybe two if I can get my wife to agree. It's definitely a great house and great location. show more show less
