Our home is an upside-down layout - you enter on the upper floor that has an open layout. The house has several gathering spaces (or different areas to escape your traveling companions!) We set up the house to be family friendly, and we have provided many essentials to make your vacation as relaxing as possible.
The house is equipped 8 individually controlled mini-split units that provides both heat and AC so you'll be comfortable no matter the weather and your preferences. Each bedroom has its own unit, as well as the living and dining spaces.
Upstairs (the entry floor), the kitchen and living room are one large open space on one side of the house. The sitting room and dining room are on the other side. A half bath with laundry is in between, and the master bedroom is at the back of the house (facing the ocean).
The kitchen is fully equipped with plenty of pots, pans, bowls and utensils for cooking almost anything. There is a full-size refrigerator in the kitchen, and another one as you enter the house, so you'll have plenty of storage. There's a coffee maker, hot water kettle, Keurig, blender, crock pot, and more. We hate going to places that make you buy essentials like salt and pepper, so we leave things like condiments and spices to make life easier for the next guests. There is a large supermarket only a few minutes away as well.
There are multiple dining areas - a pub height table in the kitchen for more casual meals, a large dining table in the dining room, and an outdoor table to enjoy the weather and the views.
The giant master bedroom has great ocean views from the double 6 foot sliding doors. There is an en suite full bathroom with shower and a walk-in closet. Extra sheets, towels, and the pack and play can also be found in the master suite.
If you are here to work, the master also features a large desk, printer/scanner combo, and 32'' monitor. The monitor is mounted on an arm and doubles as a bedroom TV for all of your streaming services.
There are 2 large sliding glass doors from the master bedroom and 2 from the living room to access the rear deck overlooking the water. The gas grill is directly connected to the gas supply, so you'll never ruin your steaks with an empty propane tank. There is a large table and chairs on the deck for you to enjoy dinner with a view. There is also an umbrella for the table to provide shade.
The upstairs features 2 living rooms - a sitting room facing the yard, and another facing the ocean. There are binoculars to check out the passing ships in the ocean view living room. On a clear day, look across to see Provincetown.
There is a built-in baby gate at the top of the stairs (turn the knob to release).
The downstairs features 2 bedrooms at opposite ends of the house for privacy. In between, there is a full bath. The smaller bedroom has a king bed, dresser with mirror and a closet.
The larger bedroom is set up for families with a king bed, full bed, twin bed and toddler bed. This room also has a closet and features blackout curtains if you want to sleep in. The room is very large, so even with all of the beds, it is still very spacious.
There is another living room downstairs with a day bed and TV, as well as a bookcase full of various books. Feel free to take a book you like, or leave one for others to enjoy. The cabinets under the TV have a variety of board games for those rainy days.
There is a second washer and dryer on the lower floor in the utility area - this set is large capacity.
Finally, the lower floor features an electric sauna in the room behind the utility/laundry area. As the house is built on ledge, the ceiling and beam are low - please watch your head!
The side of the house features a stone patio, and my favorite feature - the outdoor shower. As with the other showers, it is connected to our on-demand hot water. We have placed a dispenser with soap, shampoo and conditioner outside - perfect for washing off the sand after a day at the beach. The tub spout is great for washing your feet as well.
The front yard features grass for playing lawn games (found in the garage), or you can relax on the chairs on the front porch.
The garage has all of the outdoor essentials you could need - beach chairs, coolers, hammocks (hang up between the gazebo and a tree), a Neso beach shade, lawn games, fire pit (with metal s'mores sticks), and more. You'll find firewood in the gazebo, and there are some wood scraps in the garage that are perfect for starting the fire. The fire pit should only be used in the driveway.
The kayaks in the garage are not recommended for ocean use, but there are many ponds in the area. These are used at your own risk, and life jackets (provided) are required for all ages at all times.
Last but not least, about a 3 minute walk gets you to the beach. We are up about 90 feet up on a bluff from the beach, so there are a fair number of stairs to get down. Therefore, we recommend backpack-type coolers and chairs (some of the chairs also have built-in coolers). The beach is only for residents and guests of the neighborhood, so it is usually very quiet with plenty of space to spread out.
There is also a parking lot for our neighborhood located next to the beach path. You must display a parking pass (found in the kitchen desk drawer) - please remember to return the pass when you check out. read more show less
