The Gem is a gem!
We had a wonderful stay at this cottage in Truro! The location can't be beat, the beach is a beauty, and the cottage is well-equipped with awesome decor. The owner was very easy to work with and super helpful. We would definitely stay here again - incredibly relaxing vacation!

We were looking for a classic, Cape Cod beachfront cottage with modern amenities and this hit the mark! Tucked away off the road, The Gem was welcoming and private. Perfect for two adults. Plenty of space, with two bathrooms, outdoor shower and sitting rooms. We also enjoyed the outdoor areas, one shadier in the afternoon with a grill and the other sunnier back deck. Always a nice breeze coming through. We thoroughly enjoyed this relaxing beach vacation!

The Gem truly lives up to its name.
Its most striking feature is that it is right on its own private beach on Cape Cod Bay. The views of the sparkling bay visible from inside the house and the beautiful beach winding for miles along the shoreline are gorgeous.
The cottage is beautifully decorated with antique and nautical furnishings and has many amenities. There is an outdoor kitchen with a shower and two patios for relaxing and sunbathing. Everything about the place is cozy.
And one of the greatest virtues of The Gem is the peace and quiet afforded by its serene setting.

I had the pleasure of renting "The Gem " cottage this year… What a fabulous place!
The cottages is eclectically appointed and along with the private beach makes it a very relaxing and pleasing vacation spot.
I'm a stickler for cleanliness… And the cottage was spotless… I highly recommend this rental property…

Hidden Treasure!
We absolutely loved this cottage. It's full of vintage and quirky decor, but also has every modern amenity you could want in a beach cottage. The location is perfect, the cottage is situated such that even on that densely populated stretch of beach, you feel it's your own little secluded spot. We've been vacationing at various places North Truro for 30 years, and The Gem is by far our favorite spot. We loved the cottage and the location, but just as important, Mariellen is a perfect host...warm and welcoming and responsive. We had a small issue with one of the TVs, which is not worth mentioning except to say that Mariellen came right over and took care of it. We really couldn't have been more pleased with our stay at The Gem!

Beautiful "Gem" with Wonderful Curation and Beach access
We loved our time at 'The Gem'. This was a very tranquil destination and the respite we needed. Marielllen is a very thoughtful and responsive host and her artistic curation of the cottage was very appreciated. The grounds are lovely and with direct private beach access. We highly recommend this property!

The Gem is Aptly Named
This place is so nice; the cottage, the decks, outdoor kitchen, private beach with Adirondacks nestled in a sand dune, all to die for! Mariellen is a pleasure to work with and it is clear will go out of her way to be sure you are comfortable.

WATERFRONT COTTAGE WITH PRIVATE BEACH!

This is a special place. Most of the reviews before mine say the same thing, but to put my statement in perspective - My husband and I live in Abruzzo, Italy in the midst of a National Park and we live in the mountains and yet are only 45 minutes from the Adriatic; this year we came to Cape Cod and Mariellen's Gem for our vacation, and it was as perfect as anything back home. The house is lovely, artfully appointed with everything one might need. Its located in an area of historic cottages and has PRIVATE DIRECT BAYSIDE BEACH ACCESS! While there are many things to do and see (Provincetown is just down the road and the shuttle is right there) the cottage itself was a DESTINATION - sit on the beach in your Adirondack beach chairs and watch the sailboats. Walk, run, swim and use the fabulous outdoor shower to de-sand. We ate out, but more often brought fabulous take-out to eat at the cottage because nowhere did we find a better view nor sweeter atmosphere than the back porch with its bayside breeze. Also, the Gem is dog-friendly and our 5 pound Chihuahua was the belle of the beach. We very much hope to return - but we'll have to act fast - the Gem is mostly full for next year!
