Description

Description

Bay View Pines is an air-conditioned, four-season, five bedroom vacation home which sleeps 12 comfortably. It's a lovely, spacious, family-friendly and pet-friendly house on a wooded acre-plus overlooking Cape Cod Bay. We're a 6/10 mile walk to Fisher Beach and a little farther to the mouth of the Pamet River. Three levels of deck; from the top - the Crow's Nest - most of the Bay side of Truro and Provincetown is laid out before you. Unparalleled sunsets.

It's an ''upside down'' house with the kitchen, dining room, living room and two bedrooms upstairs (one bedroom is the Office Bedroom, with a full/double fold-out couch), and three bedrooms and a common area down. The dining room opens on to the wide deck, while downstairs bedrooms have sliders out to the lower deck (which also has a view). The Crow's Nest - the third deck - is accessible from the second deck and has awesome views.

We love hosting families with children. There's plenty of room for the families to gather, but also plenty of room for smaller groups (kids, for instance) to have their own spaces. There's an extensive kids' area with crafts and a family-friendly video library. Lots of books and games; two smart TVs; separate TV/VCR/DVD player; piano. Fully stocked kitchen; second microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker in the common area downstairs. Wi-fi throughout.

Feel free to contact us with any questions. NOTE: Only full-week bookings will be considered for June through September; two-week minimum off-season..

Our favorite spot on the Cape!

My family has been staying at Bay View Pines since 2016 and it keeps getting better every year! The house and location are great, particularly for family vacations (excellent kid space, big yard, multiple bathrooms - and outdoor shower), and Gary and Abbey are continually making improvements, enhancing our guest experience each time we're back. Can't beat the sunsets on the decks or the easy walk down to Fisher Beach. Highly recommend!

Wonderful week - especially this Covid year

We had a wonderful week at Bay View Pines. We are long-time Truro vacationers but the house was new to us, and it was perfect. We put our extended family (four households) together, and the time to laugh and hug and play games and go to the beach will sustain all of us over the coming (probably difficult) months. My grandchildren loved the play room and all its goodies, we viewed the sunsets nightly, and we cooked and ate a lot!

Fantastic location, wonderful views, close to the beach

We loved this house, and the location was fantastic. The view from the crow's nest was incredible. We loved that the kitchen was so well-stocked - made it easy to cook up fresh seafood dinners! The house had lots of room so everyone had plenty of space. We also used the kayak to paddle up the Pamet which was lovely. It was an easy walk and bike-ride to the beach, and we enjoyed walking Poors Hill loop and biking to Ballston Beach. We were close to Wellfleet - Mac's Shack seafood was our first stop, and of course no vacation would be complete without a trip to the Wellfleet Drive-In Movies. show more show less

    Fabulous Views from the Decks!

We loved staying at this property in Truro. The 3 decks are amazing with gorgeous views of the Bay sunsets. It is a short walk to the Bay beach and a quick drive to Ballston Beach..

The house has all the necessary amenities and is very comfortable. The owners could not have been nicer.

We will definitely want to go back!

    What a glorious spot!

I was so entranced by the property that I've now stayed twice. The hosts clearly care for their property and the comfort of their guests.

The lovely new kitchen has artistic flair and the indoor eating area's focus is towards the view. The master bedroom has been renovated, but all the bedrooms are spacious, and geared towards including the view. The beds are wonderful and the furniture is very comfortable. Outdoor eating on the deck is a great option and sitting on the crow's nest is such a wonderful way to end the day.

If the weather isn't cooperative, the house contains many books to read, and of course there are puzzles to work on. There's so much room in the house that staying inside for a few days is not an issue.

The hosts are very responsive and made some great suggestions for spots to visit and where to find the best ice cream.

The location is secluded and quiet with an easy walk to the beach. I watched seals close to the shoreline and varieties of birds. The place is paradise!

    Fabulous views and lovely cottage

Stayed in early June before the main season. Enjoyed great views, spring flowers in the yard, clean ocean breezes. Found all amenities needed. Hosts were responsive to our questions before and during our stay. Great place to relax.

    Great Family Friendly Place!

We found everything we needed (and more!) for a great time with our family here...lots of space, deck with amazing view, privacy, barbecue grill, even a room with kids' crafts we could use. Also the house was clean, and the owners were great to work with.

Abbey's family has been vacationing in Truro for five generations, and three other family members own houses here. Abbey and I (Gary) were married nearby, on a hillside in the National Seashore, just above where the railroad used to run, in 1979, and have visited regularly since. We're retired educators, and we live in Oneonta, NY, in the northern Catskill Mountains, but we're in Truro as often as we can arrange it.

Abbey is an artist - a painter and a potter - and you'll find some of her work in the house, as well as for sale at Will O' the Wisp in Truro. Our long experience as educators - and especially, Abbey's fifteen years working with preschoolers - naturally led us to create the kids' craft and imaginative play area in one of the bedrooms.

What is special about this property?
We were looking for a house with a great view, close to the beach, with a lot of room for families to spread out and relax. We were very lucky to find this house at the right time, and we knew almost immediately that this was the one.

We want you to feel at home here, and to return year after year. This house was built in the 1960s by a couple who lived here in the summers until last year. It had never been rented before 2016, so we're looking for your thoughts and opinions about how to make it an even better place for you to stay. We'll ask you to let us know what projects you think are most important for making Bay View Pines your home in Truro. We've added parking, built a brand new kitchen, added A/C and a kid's activity area, installed solar panels, replaced windows and siding, among many other projects. The master bedroom now has a full bath attached. We're committed to you and your family and your vacation. See bayviewpines dot org for a lot more detail.

What is special about your town?
First of all, Truro has the best beaches on Cape Cod - seven on the Bay, and five on the Atlantic Ocean, all accessible with one Town beach permit, and all within 10-15 minutes of the house. Wind, sun and waves on one side; more sedate, relaxing, sunny experiences on the other side. See seals and (depending on season) whales on the ocean, and explore the unique, fascinating environment of the Pamet River estuary only half a mile from Fisher Beach, on the Bay side. And there's also the extensive marshlands of the Pamet estuary, almost all of which are accessible by walking trails - and all within walking distance of the house.

Truro is a very rural town, with no real town center. Just about all the commerce is on Rt. 6; the rest is winding country roads through hilly, wooded country. Seventy percent of the town is in the National Seashore, including the land across the street from Bay View Pines. Especially in South Truro, houses are spread out and life is quiet and private - but Bay View Pines is an easy fifteen minute drive from downtown Provincetown.
