After not being able to rent at another house on the S. Pamet for the past 7 years, we were lucky enough to find this wonderful house. Perfect location with easy walk to Ballston. House was perfect, yard great for games and the tennis court was a bonus. Most certainly renting again. Thank you, Aiken Family. Lisa M (and family).

Our family has Truro in its blood. The house was perfect. Comfortable, scenic, convenient, well maintained and managed. We will be coming back for sure. Thank you to the family for this wonderful vacation.

My family and my cousin's family came together for a relaxing vacation at this cottage. The beds were comfy, the kitchen and outside grill was well-equipped, and the owner made things so easy! The beach sticker form was readily available and they were on site at check-in time to give us an overview of the house.

The 15 minute walk to the beach was great - I walked down at least 3 times. The house is also close to nice hiking trails. The street is very quiet.

All in all, we recommend this historic Cape house for a fun and relaxing time. show more show less

This property is exceptional. It's very close to the (never crowded) beaches as well as dune walks, trails to ponds, and it's own tennis court. The house itself isn't quite captured in the photos. In fact, it's beautifully designed and outfitted, and easily fits two families with cozy gathering spaces indoors and outdoors, a very usable kitchen, and what feels like generations of charm....the opposite of fussy or fancy, just simple and cozy and gracious. Our group included bikers, all-day hammock-readers, tennis players, pond-swimmers and beach-goers; we played all day outdoors in different configurations and settled into a routine of late-night outdoor suppers. We love Truro and have spent many a vacation in Truro at houses of friends and in rental houses. This two week vacation with our children, spouses. grand child and friends was idyllic . This house is a treasure. It is over 300 years old and sensitively modernized .It sits on a dead end road that ends near Ballston Beach on a large grassy and wooded lot with a tennis court in the woods. The location inside the National Seashore within walking distance of one of the worlds most beautiful beaches makes this house one of a kind. The house itself is full of charm. It is a lived in home full of antique furniture, photos and Edward Hopper reproductions. The floors are ancient varnished wide boards that do slope a bit. The kitchen is ample and fully equipped. It is part of the very spacious living area that occupies the front of the house.There are 3 working fireplaces downstairs . The upstairs bedrooms and bathroom have character but the steps up are not for the very young or the very old as they are steep. But what is most important is that living in this house makes everyone feel good. The whole experience is enhanced by the owners attention to details and responsiveness to his guests needs including tennis rackets, a stocked pantry, candles and a generally sparkling appearance. We would be more likely to return to this house than many others in Truro.

We just wrapped up a fantastic week at this beautiful Truro home and could not have had a more enjoyable experience. Not only does it embody the charm and character of an antique Cape, it also includes all of the 21st century amenities that made for a comfortable and enjoyable vacation; a rare and perfect combination.
The location of the property is just wonderful. We enjoyed being able to walk to Ballston Beach in minutes or to another more isolated beach with a walk through a nature trail. Truro (the town center) and other beaches are also easily accessible within minutes.
A couple of other standout features - The house was incredibly clean and tidy! And the communication with the owner (in preparation for the trip and upon arrival) was timely and clear.

The Aiken home is a special place, filled with charm and soul. It's an historic home that has been modernized so that it's wonderfully pleasant and comfortable, as well as spacious and airy.

The home itself is perfect for a mutli-generational vacation. There's a first floor with en-suite bathroom that was appropriate for an elderly person; upstairs there are three comfortable and large bedrooms and another bathroom.

The house itself is sited on a little hill with lovely views looking to the beach, which is less than a mile away.

The hosts are easy to communicate with and terribly responsive, as well as nice as can be. We look forward to returning. show more show less

I recently stayed in the Aiken house with my extended family and it was one of my most memorable Cape Cod experiences in fife years of summering there. The house itself is a significant piece of Cape Cod history, arguably the oldest house in Truro. This might not be to everyone taste but the house has been functionally modernized and as of last summer it is even air-conditioned. It is within walking distance of a spectacular beach and new renters should know that a Town of Truro beach pass which is available to renters at a reasonable price is the most valuable document on the Cape. show more show less
