This was our first time renting from Hill and Lisa. I am not exaggerating when I say it met all of our needs. My husband and I were looking for a Wellfleet home to accommodate us, as well as our adult son. The upstairs had a charming suite- two bedrooms and a bathroom- perfect for our son. The living room furniture was quite comfortable, the large tv was a nice addition. The kitchen was incredibly well equipped- and the knives sharp! The outside patio felt quite private. We loved that we were able to walk in to town for pleasure as well as for groceries. In other words, our car was not needed. We could also walk to Mayo Beach, although when we had beach chairs and umbrellas we took our car. There was no charge for parking at this location. The Snelling's are thoughtful and responsible- they were always available by text. We hope to return.

We enjoyed our second stay at TOL very much. Our hosts are super-responsive any time we contact them. The kitchen is very well-stocked with dishes, pots & pans and appliances. The patio area is perfect for morning coffee and evening barbecues, especially with the nice Weber grill. We never had to use the A/C downstairs because of all the window fans provided. We enjoyed many walks to downtown Wellfleet for dinner and shopping. The outdoor shower is easy to access and has plenty of hot water.

We had the pleasure of staying at Turn of the Lane this summer and last, and we absolutely loved it. The home is an authentic Wellfleet cottage in the center of town — clean, well taken care of, with a well-appointed kitchen. It's tucked away on a very quiet, private lane and walkable to everything Wellfleet has to offer: restaurants, the pier, town bay beach. It's a great place for kids, safe to walk around and explore day or night. I look forward to our next visit next year!

We returned to Turn Of The Lane for our second stay in June of this year (you can look up our review from last year). We know the area very well and have become picky about where we stay. We enjoyed our stay at TOL every bit as much as before, probably more so this time as the place has become very familiar. There is plenty of room for the three of us plus two guests. Comfortable beds, ample privacy, etc.

We all like to cook so the big kitchen with quality cookware was really a plus. Elegant dining room set up. We also often grilled fresh fish on the gas grill and enjoyed eating outside on the brick patio.

The location is central, with easy walking to shops and galleries, as well as the charming Mayo Beach, yet is very quiet with very little traffic on the lane.

Our hosts were very attentive to our needs and quick to respond.

I really appreciated the historic character of the house. Cape Cod has a fascinating history and it feels great to be embedded in it by staying in a place that is part of that history. Maybe that's not for everyone but Turn Of The Lane checks all our boxes.

My wife and I loved our 3 week stay at TOL. We lacked for nothing as the historic 1750 house was well equipped. After 3 weeks it felt like home! The spacious outdoor shower is accessed without having to walk outside and once used there was no going back to the indoor showers. Although located in town the home was very secluded down a short private drive (you know you are on the Cape when the driveway is crushed shells). Centrally located, it is walking distance to Main St shops and restaurants in one direction and the town pier, Mayo Beach and the quintessential seafood restaurant, The Bookstore, in the other direction. Lisa's communication was excellent with quick responses to all our questions. We wouldn't hesitate to repeat or stay at TOL.

My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit at Turn of the Lane. We especially liked the location that is so close to the harbor and town. Thank you so much for a lovely stay in your charming house. Everything was perfect!

We love old homes and we really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful old house. The kitchen is very well equipped. The knives and cutting tools sharp. The king bed and everything else was comfortable. The house is centrally located in town, an easy walk to the harbor, restaurants, shops, Wellfleet Market, etc. We were also impressed with how quiet and relaxing it was. We enjoyed spending time sitting out on the back patio reading and listening to the wind in the trees and the birds. Lisa, the owner was very welcoming and professional! Highly recommended!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at TOL. The house is very quaint yet functional and comfortable. We really enjoyed the location in Wellfleet. It's still feels private yet you're within walking distance to the downtown shopping area and restaurants. Our hosts were so welcoming and friendly, wanting to ensure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We hope to return in the future!

We had an incredible stay at Turn of the Lane in Wellfleet. Located walking distance from downtown, we were able to enjoy a variety of restaurants and exploring local shops. The beach and ponds were a short drive away, and the home was equipped with everything you could need for a perfect beach day: chairs, umbrellas, and a cooler.

If you're looking for a wonderful Wellfleet getaway, Turn of the Lane is the place to be!

Turn of the Lane is a delightful, cozy Cape Cod home. It is closely situated to both the town center of Wellfleet and the Wellfleet Harbor and Mayo Beach. We really enjoyed our stay!

We have been coming to Cape Cod for many years and our favorite beach is Newcomb Hollow! Also the best coffee and pastries are from Blue Willow. This house was perfect - a 10/10. It was equal parts charming, cozy, functional and we made amazing memories. Thank you!

TOL's location is so convenient...an easy walk to downtown, the pier and our favorite restaurant, Mac's Shack. The owners were friendly and quick to respond from start to finish. The cottage was incredibly well-stocked with kitchen utensils, appliances, spices, dishes, wine glasses and linens. We enjoyed many meals and happy hours on the back patio which was shielded from the sun with several shade trees. For most of the week, we left windows & doors open and window fans running. But when it got humid, the three window A/C units cooled us down. The outdoor shower was convenient to access, had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. All of the beds were comfortable and we had ample space to hang/store our belongings. TOL is a home run!!

We had an amazing time staying at Turn of the Lane (TOL)! Great location and a perfect base for our week-long family vacation (myself, my husband, 5-year old son and my 65-year old mom). TOL was lovely and tastefully decorated, and the house itself was a treat to explore. TOL was also fully stocked with everything one could possibly need (e.g., cookware, pantry staple, etc.) - just as we expected from the photos and description. Lisa and Hill were excellent hosts and gave us a tour upon arrival and was easy to communicate with throughout. We look forward returning to TOL and highly recommend TOL to anyone visiting the Wellfleet area!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at TOL. Home is very well cared for and has everything you need for a comfortable stay, highlights were the very comfortable beds, really well stocked kitchen and spending time with family on the back patio. We would highly recommend TOL and are already looking forward to returning next year!

Turn of The Lane is a rare find - classic Cape Cod historic house that is lovingly maintained, with up to date amenities, and in a great location. We've been vacationing in Wellfleet for decades and have gotten rather picky about where we would stay. Turn of The Lane checked all our boxes. It is walking distance to shops, restaurants and our favorite bay side beach, yet on a beautiful quiet lane that sees little traffic. Our hosts were very responsive yet respected our privacy. I found the historic character of the house to be quite attractive. We like to cook and having a large kitchen island was a great feature. Good quality cookware and sharp knives are a definite plus. The rooms are clean and bright, beds were comfortable, and the yard and patio are nicely landscaped and very attractive. Plenty of room for five of us to spread out. Access to the shed was convenient for storing bikes and beach stuff. We made use of the provided beach chairs and umbrellas.

It's a great place and I'm already looking forward to returning.

Charming and well kept home that's located walking distance to everything! It's private and very clean with all the amenities to enjoy the special community of Wellfleet. We walked to the bay side to enjoy the sunsets and sunrise and enjoyed excellent local cuisine! The grocery store and wine shop are excellent surrounded by galleries from local artists.
We look forward to coming back to this special place!

We loved this pleasant cottage so much, we came back. It's nestled on a quiet lane with other historic houses, and an easy walk to shops and restaurants and Mayo beach. Also a 10-minute drive to ponds and ocean beaches. Equipped with everything you'd need on vacation. Responsive owners. Will be back again!

We have rented in Wellfleet for many years and know that often the older homes are charming, but sometimes "musty' feeling. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Turn of Lane. The house had all of the charm we expected, but was immaculately maintained and felt fresh and clean. As the week went on, we also realized how thoughtfully stocked it was - everything we needed was there and well organized. Also, the location is amazing; private but so close to town and the harbor. And Lisa is a great host - responsive and thoughtful. Would HIGHLY recommend renting this house - one of the best houses we have ever had!

Beautiful, updated historic cottage on a quiet lane. Sunny and immaculate with lots of charm. We loved the spacious kitchen that made it easy for more than one adult in our group to prepare food at the same time. Comfortable, inviting living room. Extra-large first-floor bedroom was particularly nice, and all the beds in the house were extremely comfortable. Lovely private patio for drinking morning coffee or enjoying a glass of wine at night. Easy, 10-minute drive to Newcomb Hollow Beach. We will return!
