We had a wonderful time with the kids, grandparents and our dog at Long Pond Cottage. From a windy but sunny day at Nauset beach to the boardwalk into the march at Greys beach to a pre-season Provincetown visit, we did it all. Our highlight was renting bikes and covering a 26 mile roundtrip on the Cape Cod Rail Trail from Dennis to Orleans and back. You can rent bikes from the Dennis Cycle Center and enter the rail trail right from their property.
If one us had to stay back and "work from home" it was no issue due to the fast wifi and the nice backyard set up was a plus for fresh air zoom calls.
Our dog might have had the best time of all of us. She loved chasing her ball on a low tide beach and walking to the pond to watch the ducks. We even took her to walk at sunrise at the Chatham lighthouse beach. The fenced in yard and large crates in the house make for a stressless dog vacation.
And don't forget a visit to Cuffy's!

We LOVED our stay at Long Pond. The location was great and the house had everything you could possibly need. All 3 kids and the dogs enjoyed the backyard and the great pond for fishing and playground all within walking distance. Scott is a pleasure to work with and is readily available to offer many ideas for things to see and do and places to eat. We checked out many different beaches on the Cape and enjoyed whale watching and a day trip to Provincetown. It truly is in the PERFECT spot to see all that Cape Cod has to offer. Don't feel like going out? No problem. The house is cozy and inviting and truly feels like home!

My family just got home from an amazing vacation at Long Pond Cottage. We have rented homes on the cape before, but none as lovely as this. It had every amenity that we needed.

Our grandkids loved the short walk to beach, playground, and basketball court. It was very spacious for 2 families. Maya loved the fenced yard and huge kennel. It is a few minutes drive to many great restaurants such as Captain Parker's and Scallys. It is also close to Greys Beach and Mayflower Beach for amazing sunsets. Our grandkids favorite beach was Smugglers Beach where kids can go crabbing from the pier. It is also near Pirates golf and a water park.

We are already talking about returning next year.

This is our 3 time staying at this amazing house on Cape Cod and glad to be able to spend time there with family after several years of laying low due of Covid.
This house has everything for a family vacation including a well-stocked kitchen (2 mixers, blender, toaster, and tons of cooking pots and pans), 2 separate living areas, great A/C, a huge dining room, easy access to all of the ocean beaches PLUS a short walk to a great pond that is free! He has decorated this house with fun and whimsical art work and supplied many extra things for his guests including a fire pit, great outdoor shower, gas grill plus a large patio table that seated all of us.
The other major reason this has become a regular vacation spot for us is the attentiveness of Scott (the owner) to any and all of our requests and inquiries. He is thorough, attentive, very easy to reach and responds back quickly to texts and phone calls…what more could anyone ask for???

"I love coming back to Scott's house because it is obvious that he loves and cares so much about dogs plus is so welcoming to other canine like me. He has provided 2 very large crates plus has a very secure fenced backyard so I could enjoy the sun and many smells of Cape Cod. I also loved the walks that we took in this very quiet neighborhood and can't wait to go back again soon!! Ahh…the wonderful smell of Cape Cod air!"

It was a lovely stay at Long Pond Cottage. From the minute I stepped inside I felt at Home. As I mentioned in the guest book each room welcomes you like a warm blanket. House is wonderfully equipped and ready for all your needs. I had several guests in and out thru the week and the layout beautifully accommodated everyone. Since I enjoy many areas on the cape the central location made it a breeze with its close proximity to both Rt 28 and Rt6. I also loved the walkability of the neighborhood.

Should you enjoy fine dining I highly recommend The Ocean House in Dennis Port.

Scott is a wonderful Host and I do hope to be back next year.

This cozy Cape Cod cottage in South Yarmouth was a perfect place to call home for our family reunion week. The quiet and safe neighborhood was walking distance to a fresh water lake where we enjoyed swimming and kayaking almost daily. The cottage's enclosed backyard was equipped with chaises. tables and chairs making our morning ritual of coffee and chatting just right. Low to no humidity helped too on these sunny mornings. We also took advantage of the outdoor shower after coming home from a beach, sailing, kayaking, hiking, or biking.

Having the cottage in mid-cape proved useful for exploring different towns and villages. We visited the Heritage Museum and Gardens in Sandwich for the Hydrangea Festival this week, the lavender farm in Harwich which wasn't completely harvested yet, Hyannis for a sunset cruise on a catamaran sailing around the Kennedy Compound and the Lewis Bay, took a day trip to Provincetown and the National Seashore, and rented a Boston Whaler to motor around the Hyannis harbor to the ocean and to a secret cove for a fine little swim off the back of the boat. The restaurant selections for great seafood was greater than our given time. Some favorites include: Yarmouth House in the garden, Royal II Restaurant and Grille, Captain Parker's Pub and the Skipper Chowder House around Yarmouth as well as the Lobster Pot in P-town.

This cottage provided everything that we needed and more!

This house truly shines above and beyond the rest! Situated in a charming and quiet neighborhood within a stroll to Long Pond, and a short drive to most destinations on Cape Cod, we were able to take part of everything the area has to offer. From convenient trips to the National Seashore beaches, visits to Provincetown, shopping and exploring Hyannis, and all the fun in lively Yarmouth, we couldn't have chosen a more perfect location to stay. We wandered the gorgeous gardens and exhibits at the American Heritage Museum and Gardens, biked the Cape Cod Rail Trail, beat the escape room at Upside Down games, sailed at sunset with Bay Spirit Tours (finding Max Kennedy disembarking his sailboat!), and continued time-honored traditions of mini-golf at Pirate's Cove and the necessary Cuffy's sweatshirt shopping trip. The excellent location allowed for adventures, while also being comfortably close to our furry family members.

Scott is the ultimate host, responsive and friendly, checking in on us and making us feel at home. He's quick to answer questions and his handbook gave us lots of ideas for attractions and restaurants to visit during our stay.

We were sincerely amazed when we pulled up to Long Pond Cottage. A wonderful backyard provided a great area for morning coffee and reading, the gorgeous and perfect kitchen was full of every tool needed to make special meals. The cottage is spacious and comfortable, with many cozy areas to relax. We were so impressed with the large bedrooms and spacious bathrooms. After spending countless summers in various homes along the Cape, we woke up the first morning astonished at how comfortable the beds were. We have gotten so used to "roughing it" on vacation, a good night's sleep was so delightful!

The pet friendly-ness of Long Pond Cottage relieved a lot of stress. Having dog crates was so helpful, and Indy and Leia loved walking the neighborhood and playing in the backyard. As soon as they walked in, they were immediately at home. I can't tell who had a better vacation – us or the puppies! We can't wait to return!

We have rented Scott's Long Pond Cottage at least 6 times and it gets better with each visit. Our last visit was without a pet, but all prior visits were with our dog. The house is perfectly located in a walkable neighborhood. The backyard is secluded, fenced in and was loved by our dog Bailey.

We took a short break when Bailey was getting too old to make the trip. When we returned this spring we were pleased to see all the upgrades made.

If you are looking for a rental that has all the charm of a Cape Cod cottage, with a newly renovated kitchen, renovated bathrooms, central air and so much more, then this is the place for you.

This was our first time experiencing the house without our dog, To be honest, we had reservation about whether it was logical staying in a pet friendly house when we no longer had a dog, but knowing how Scott maintains this house, we gave it a shot. We were not disappointed. The house was cleaned to perfection. If we didn't already know that this house was dog friendly, we would have never know. The house comes supplied with crates and everything you need for your dog, but it was cleaned so well that you would never know this is a pet friendly house.

The kitchen is stocked with everything you could need, there is lots of reading material, comfy furniture and well decorated throughout the home. This is not a typical rental where the listing displays pictures of a house from 10 years ago. It is immaculate and if anything, the pictures don't capture the true charm and visual appeal of the house. What you see in the listing is what you get. Scott is a perfect host and maintains this property to perfection.

Needless to say, we will be returning.

From the moment we stepped out of the private drive into the front door of Long Pond Cottage, we knew we were entering a "home away from home." The air was sweet, the atmosphere was completely quiet, and private!

The cottage is welcoming, beautiful, organized, clean and decorated, and designed in a magnificent way, so that a family can comfortably enjoy its charm, together, or for quiet, alone times, separately. The neighborhood is dreamy, and we were right around the corner from Long Pond, where we walked to in the evening with our beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Oliver and Brady. My favorite spot in the house was the cozy, formal living room, where I was surrounded by color, character and beautiful finishes. I love to read, and the variety of reading materials at my fingertips in the small library of living room, coupled with the multitude of picture books of the Cape was a pleasant oasis for me to return to each night after our day's adventures. Tom loved to retreat into the Den, where a hearth fireplace and cozy furniture gave him the perfect space to watch the NBA finals. The amazing blue kitchen, fully equipped, was a cook's dream, where we happily prepared breakfast, lunch and dinners, that we enjoyed in the large, sophisticated, bright dining room, under a beautiful, stunning large chandelier! The walls are adorned with Scott's professional photography shots of the Cape in its spendor! The artsy bathrooms were a treat to get ready in each morning. The bright, cheery Primary Bedroom was perfect for us to relax in at the end of the night, enjoying the sweet evening breeze, and even more wonderful to awaken to. Having a primary suite bathroom located in our room was most wonderful.

It was a blessing to be able to bring Oliver and Brady. They loved the house, and quickly became comfortable. The backyard is the perfect size, and was their oasis, and Brady ran the yard fetching balls everyday, while Oliver explored the nooks and crannies of the lush green haven. We barbecued out back two of the evenings, and then retreated into the comfy Adirondack chairs over a gorgeous fire toasting marshmallows for chocolatey s'mores. There were two oversized crates at the house that we used when we left to explore, and Ollie and Brady were happy to get their own mini-vacations from us!

This house is in a perfect quiet and peaceful location! Minutes away from shopping, and many spectacular places on the Cape whether you are a beach goer, or museum visitor, there is just so much to do.

Scott is the host with the most! He has every bit of information you'll need for your stay, from his "11 Favorite Things To Do,." I was able to plan each day of or trip easily, based on his knowledge of the Cape, and his awesome recommendations: A trip to Hyannisport to see the Kennedy Compound, the ferry services to both Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard, beaches close by that included the beaches we could bring the dogs to, and where to find the best ice cream (Cape Cod Creamery) and best Clam Chowder (Captain Parker's) were all taken from his list!

We visited Provincetown twice, and had lovely seafood meals there, and did the majority of our shopping. After dinner at the Lobster Pot, we drove a short way to Race Point Beach, where our breath was taken away by the majesty of the waters! We then went to Herring Cove Beach to watch a beautiful sunset. Marconi Beach in Wellfleet was amazing. The seals welcomed us at the tip of the ocean, and we walked a few miles to take in the beauty of the beach and the surrounding waters . We visited the Drive-In Movie in Wellfleet afterward, and experienced the nostalgia of a drive-in from years past! The National Seashore was a wonder to experience.

Words cannot describe the relaxation we experienced at Long Pond Cottage and Cape Cod. The two go together like bread and butter! We will most definitely return!!

We spent the last week of May at this delightful South Yarmouth cottage. It is well appointed and though somewhat close to a main route it is very quiet except for the beautiful cacophony of bird song at various times of the day. The kitchen is likely the best equipped of any rental we have ever stayed at on the Cape (many).

One doesn't see many Baltimore Orioles in my neighborhood of Northern Massachusetts but they were abundant here. There is great walking in this neighborhood with the lake being a few minutes away on foot.

Also this town is quite central to any areas you may want to visit on Cape Cod with easy access.
Our nervous nelly Border Collie mix was so relaxed here with the quite and privacy and thoroughly enjoyed the completely fenced in back yard, rabbit and squirrel hunting. In Yarmouth there are a couple of nice walks with your leashed dog at the Botanical Trails at the Yarmouth Historical Society. Also there is a great dog park about an 8-9 minute ride away.

If you want a relaxed space, a lovely place to stay with your friends and family and and of course and perhaps most importantly your best friend, then we highly recommend it. Robin and Peter

We have stayed at Long Pond Cottage four times. This year we spent three weeks. Next year we will stay four weeks. We love retirement! We have been here with friends, on our own and this year with family.

Two living rooms and three bedrooms make it roomy and comfortable for family and friends. The exterior is modest but once you step inside you will be thrilled you booked this cottage. It is beautifully decorated and is very comfortable.The large dining room is great for gathering around the table for meals or doing jigsaw puzzles. We did three this trip. The master bedroom and bath are large and comfortable. Each bedroom has a reading nook if you like a bit of quiet reading. I do!

This trip our son and his girlfriend joined us for a week bringing their dog Parker along. Parker loved walking the neighborhood and nearby beaches. We love walking West Dennis Beach. Parker also loved the fenced backyard but was disappointed there weren't more squirrels to chase.

Scott is the perfect host and is very quick to respond if any issues arise. I let him know the picture on the TV was failing and he had a new one sent to the cottage. So next year you will enjoy a beautiful new smart television. I am sure this is the best equipped kitchen on the Cape. We were joking around saying he has every appliance possible here. But guess what Scott, there is no waffle iron. We made do with pancakes because of course there is a griddle.

We also survived the bomb cyclone that hit the east coast in October. Safe and cozy at Long Pond Cottage. The best part of the stay - our son proposed to his girlfriend at sunset on West Dennis Beach. Starting new memories on Cape Cod.

First time staying at this lovely Cape. It's very charming and centrally located. The Kitchen is on trend and well equipped. There are two living rooms one with a TV and the other with a sitting area and beautiful photography books by Scott (don't miss viewing them)!. There is a private fenced in backyard with a dinning set and umbrella. It's great for an evening cocktail. The neighborhood is very walkable and a short walk from Long Pond. I am booking for next year!

This house is magical. As soon as we stepped through the front door we knew we had found the perfect home base for our Cape vacation. Loved how the master bedroom and bath are apart from the other bedrooms and living areas so my husband and I had privacy, as did our grown children.

The thoughtful touches are everywhere—lots of reading material, comfy furniture and lovely decor. The kitchen is amazingly stocked with implements, and we cooked more this vacation than on any previous house rental because of that, and also we had our best family time around the dining room table. We bought fresh ingredients and great baked goods at Ring Bro grocery in W Dennis and also shopped at the local chain supermarkets. All conveniently close to the house.

Scott's house was perfect for our needs, loved the set up of bedrooms and the outside yard was perfect for our labradoodle Ziggy. House was clean and charming, a real cape cottage with great upgrades such as central A/C and new cabinets.

It was the best walking neighborhood and is close to bike path, various grocery stores and the beach! Seagull was our favorite, the lot was never filled to capacity regardless of what time we went. Have already booked for 2 weeks next year! Scott also quickly responds to any questions or concerns, see ya next year??

We loved our time at Long Pond Cottage. The house was cute, homey, well stocked and so clean. The location was perfect for everything we love to do on the Cape. Our dog Milo loved the dog crate, the fenced in back yard, long walks around the quiet neighborhood and the pond.

We rented kayaks a mile away (they will deliver for multi day rentals) and our dog really loved going out on the boat with us. The pond was so beautiful and we were able to spend time there as well as the nearby beaches.

Long Pond Cottage is in a great location in Yarmouth. The home is in a very quiet neighborhood and has a very secluded back yard. We had rabbits, chipmunks, and many different varieties of birds visiting us daily.

The home is a classic Cape Cod. Very cozy. It has two fireplaces. It is very well decorated. It has many places to sit and read and relax. The kitchen is brand new a year ago and has everything a cook needs to prepare meals. The central air added this past May 2021 will keep you cool on those hot humid Cape Cod days. It works great in every room of the home.

You will be located within a 5 minute drive to Bass River beach. Minutes from the grocery store (and liquor store too). The neighborhood is great for taking walks in. You can walk to Bass River in about 15 minutes.

It is just a great home for a vacation. We spent two weeks there. You will not be disappointed.

We all enjoyed our stay at Long Pond Cottage. This is a beautifully decorated, clean, comfortable home. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need for cooking and baking. We enjoyed breakfast outside in the private backyard every morning.

The location is great, near the pond, perfect area to go for walks and close to the grocery store.

Our golden retriever Daisy enjoyed her stay and seemed at home in the large crate.

We visited Long Pond Cottage in May to avoid the crowds and it worked out perfectly! We brought our mini poodle who had a blast exploring the corners of the private, enclosed back yard. The cottage is located in a beautiful pond side neighborhood perfect for early morning walks.

West Dennis beach is 9 minutes away and Mayflower Beach just a quick 15 minute drive. As we were there before Memorial Day there was ample free parking at the beaches, no crowds and we could bring our pup with us to watch the sunsets!

The cottage was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. We liked the layout with a private master bedroom and bath on one end and second and third bedrooms with a separate bathroom on the other. Our favorite spots for food included Ann and Fran's Kitchen for the best breakfast ever and the Sailing Cow for yummy burgers and a dose of local charm!

We brought our bikes and took advantage of the Cape Cod Rail Trail just minutes from the cottage. Scott is a wonderful, attentive but not over bearing host. Thanks for a much needed restful and fun vacation!

We were very happy with this home rental. The central location made it easy to get to all corners of the Cape. The home is nicely decorated with a goodly amount of private, outdoor space. The kitchen was well appointed with extra conveniences like a stand up mixer and more than enough serving dishes, place settings, glassware and utensils. The owner provided great restaurant recommendations - don't miss the Pheasant in Dennis or Marion's Pies in Chatham! We hope to return again soon.

Charming neighborhood location, with scenic walks around Long Pond. Excellent dining options nearby. The house us very well equipped with premium appliances and utensils. The layout of the house with separate bedroom "wings" would make it ideal for extended families.

Thank you, Scott, for a wonderful and restful week! The house was very comfortable to stay in with lots of nice touches to create both a relaxing and fun atmosphere. The kitchen had any utensil or spice you might need, beds were comfortable, and we enjoyed just being in the house together or separately in one of the 3 "reading nooks" when we weren't out and about. Our pup loved the house too, including her crate (so convenient!) as well as the fenced-in backyard where she enjoyed running around and exploring. We also enjoyed the privacy of the enclosed and green backyard, and ate many of our meals on the patio.

It was a treat to be so close to Long Pond. We took our dog there daily, and then explored the lovely neighborhood. The location of the house is fabulous - we easily visited both bay and ocean beaches. Our favorite time was watching the sunset at the beach! Also some nice trails to walk nearby - we especially enjoyed the Botanical Trails at the Historical Society of Yarmouth. We want to recommend visiting the Cape after Labor Day in addition to the traditional summer visit. It's beautiful and still warm, and Scott's house is a lovely place to settle in and enjoy the fall.

My family and I had a wonderful and comfortable stay at Scott's house. The fenced backyard was perfect for our dog and kids, self check in was very easy, the kitchen well stocked, the grill ready to go, and the beds comfortable. The neighborhood pond beach and playground were perfect for little kids. We'd love to come back!

My family and I stayed at Long Pond during the 1st week of August- Scott's house is just lovely. We enjoyed cooking in the fully stocked, brand new, beautiful kitchen and then eating in the large, private backyard. Perfect for our dog and 2 year old.

The bathrooms, bedrooms, living room, family room, AND living room (there was so much space to move freely!) were all decorated tastefully, maintaining the aesthetic and original details of the home. And of course, they were spotlessly clean.

Scott was the perfect host; I had emailed him with a lot of questions beforehand and he answered quickly and clearly. I even left my key fob at the house mistakenly and Scott was kind enough to reach out and go through the trouble of mailing it back to me free of charge.

We truly hope to be able to come back next summer.

We enjoyed our stay so much and loved the house. The location was perfect, we usually stay on the other side of route 28 but we LOVED the neighborhood! It was close enough that we could ride our scooters to the Parker River beach but we had the added benefit of the pond for my younger nephews and my older parents when they didn't want to swim in the ocean. The house lay out was ideal for my parents, my sister's family and I to have our own space. And we were so appreciative of the crate for our pup as it was one less thing to pack. Not many rentals allow dogs in the Cape so to have found this place was a miracle. The yard was great for eating our take out and hanging since we didn't want to eat inside restaurants due to covid. The house also has a much appreciated outdoor shower! The neighborhood was quiet and without much traffic, we loved taking morning and night strolls. The house was very very clean and stocked with everything we could have needed. The only negative was our stay wasn't long enough! We hope to be back next year, Thank you Scott!

We had a wonderful week at this lovely cottage. So close to so many things! The warm interior makes you feel comfortable right away, just like home!! The separation of the master bedroom from the other bedrooms was appreciated, as my dog has a cough due to a heart condition and I was so happy we didn't disturb the others. Having two bathrooms is also a big plus! The yard was perfect for us and our dogs and loved the outdoor shower. Having the lake so close to walk to made my boy dog so happy, as he loves to swim and cool off in this hot weather. Thank you, Scott, for being so attentive and responding so quickly. You made it so easy and I appreciate your attentiveness. I would definitely rent your lovely home again.

We had a wonderful vacation week in this beautiful vacation home. From the cheerful and comfortable decor to the impeccable cleanliness, this house was a hit for our family, including our black lab! We've stayed in many rental homes through the years and I have to say that this was the best in terms of anticipating the needs of the guests and providing for them. There wasn't one kitchen utensil missing! All was perfect. Thank you, Scott. We'll be back.

My family and I had the pleasure of staying at Long Pond Cottage in late June. From the very beginning Scott was very responsive over email, staying in very good communication as our trip was approaching. The interior of the cottage is delightful - two living rooms, a dining room, three well-appointed bedrooms, two very newly updated bathrooms, and a lovely renovated kitchen. The kitchen is especially well-stocked -- truly every kitchen gadget you can imagine! We loved that there were dog crates available to use with our pooch - made traveling very easy. The cottage is close to the CC Rail Trail which we biked to multiple times. We did swim in Long Pond once but preferred to go to one of the many beaches within a short drive. All in all we had a lovely stay!

We rented this beautiful and cozy cottage for two weeks and were able to work during COVID from this lovely location. It was our first trip to Cape Cod and we appreciated the quiet neighborhood within walking distance to Long Pond, which had a small public beach and great fresh water swimming. The cottage was thoughtfully decorated and the kitchen was well-stocked including a wide array of spices. We brought our bikes and spent many miles biking on the Rail Trail. We were able to take trips all over Cape Code to explore the beaches and beautiful hiking trails.

Before we left we reserved the cottage for the same two weeks next year. We love the cool weather and want to share this treasure with our biking buddies.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks on Cape Cod at Long Pond Cottage. The house was the perfect size for my husband and myself, our two daughters (5 and 9) and our dog Levi! Finding a dog friendly home in a central location was very important to us and Long Pond Cottage fit the bill! We were able to enjoy countless activities from visiting Woods Hole and Heritage Gardens on the Upper Cape to spending a day in Provincetown, enjoying the Wellfleet Audubon center, as well as a quick drive to Chatham for dinner. You are able to take in all of these great locations with ease from this location. The beaches in Yarmouth and Dennis are beautiful and easy to access and there are countless restaurants and shopping nearby!!! The house was clean and comfortable, it has the charm of an older house with beautifully updated bathrooms and kitchen. While it is close to busy streets, you are in a quiet neighborhood—my daughters safely rode their bikes back and forth from the pond where they enjoyed swimming and playing on the playground—probably their favorite part of this location!! Well, maybe they also enjoyed the fact that Cape Cod Creamery is also around the corner! We even took in a few baseball games from the field around the corner at the high school. I could have stayed for the whole summer! Our dog Levi was comfortable in the crate that is provided (even able to place in a room with A/C while we were gone for the day) and having a fenced in backyard was ideal for letting her out—she loved watching the bunnies in the yard! You can tell the owner truly cares for the home and is very accessible and responsive to any questions.

This is our second year at Scott's wonderful Yarmouth house and it is even better than before! He continues to update things PLUS we love the way he decorates with amazing colors, photos, artwork, etc. This house is extremely convenient to Long Pond that allowed our dog Bunny to swim daily and exercise. It is also a very easy walk to the pond beach and playground for our granddaughter and the great enclosed backyard for both of them to play, with no worries. We did make 2 trips to Sandwich while were there and had a fun time at the Marina and also the Heritage Museum....a great place for every and especially kids of any age. We also went hiking at Fort Hill in Eastham, which was very flat and an easy walk for a 3 year old. We also ventured out to Wellfleet to see the numerous seals and dine at the Beachcomber, a true Cape Cod experience.

Long Pond Cottage gets great reviews. Here is another one. While a little plain on the outside, the inside glows with warmth and character. Two seating areas are filled with comfortable chairs and sofas. The real stuff, no second hand oh it is just cottage furniture here. Beds and pillows are very comfortable. Comfortable chairs for reading in bedrooms are a thoughtful addition. Bathrooms are newly remodeled and have plenty of space for all your stuff. Gorgeous new kitchen was cause for kitchen envy. We appreciated the quiet neighborhood. We explored the Cape from Woods Hole and Sandwich to Provincetown. So easy from this central location. We have been visiting Cape Cod for many years. Will absolutely come back to Long Pond Cottage. We loved it. Oh, Scott is a great host and is so easy to work with.

My spouse and I have been renting this cottage for a week in September for the last couple of years, since we adopted our first dog. Actually, we signed our agreement when we had one dog, but by the time September rolled around, we had two. This spring, we were missing the Cape and knew we couldn't wait until September to head back. We checked the availability and "our" house was available for the week we wanted. We had gotten an email from the owner telling us about the new kitchen and the new grill, but the reality of the kitchen was far more beautiful than the pictures could express. We were thrilled that our girls remembered the house and our regular walks around the pond and couldn't wait to stretch their legs playing chase in the backyard as soon as we unpacked. The humans in the family are counting the days until September when we can go back to what feels like our Cape home. The house is perfectly situated. It's close to Long Pong, providing nice walks for two and four legged family members. If you want to go to the beach, you can walk or drive to the South Yarmouth Beaches, and you can get in the car and easily get to any of the other fine beaches the Cape has to offer. If you want to cook (and the new gas grill is fabulous), the house is very close to several big grocery stores. If you want to go out to eat, the house is within driving distance of many of the Cape's restaurants - from picnic table casual to white tablecloth fancy. And one more important thing to note about this house is that it's within an easy walk of the Cape Cod Creamery, to me, the best ice cream on the Cape (although I know everyone who has ever visited the Cape had THEIR favorite ice cream place). Bottom line, if you're looking for a great escape to the Cape, be sure to check out this house. From the moment you walk in, it really does feel like home.

Everything was indeed perfect. We loved the house and all of its delightful contents and thoughtful touches. We slept comfortably (I had the room with the double bed) and used the kitchen very lightly as it was the general consensus to eat our meals out.

Paula served as our concierge, tour guide, and driver. Over three days we covered the Cape from Woods Hole to Wellfleet and had the extremely good fortune to have sunshine every day. As I am an early riser and nature lover, a special treat for me was spending the early morning hour watching from the bedroom chair the rabbit that visits your back yard at that time of day. I also saw my very first pair ever of Baltimore Orioles in the bush by your living room window. For us, early May was the perfect time to visit the Cape. I don’t know if I will get back there again, but the memories will last forever. Thanks so much for letting us share your lovely home.

We had the best weather ever for our week's stay in this quiet, well furnished home. This was our second year here, and again everything was awesome. Go see the play at Cape Playhouse..whatever it is, you will like it!

We enjoyed our stay at your cozy cottage Fenced in yard was great for the dog. The street is quiet, and your home is so close to the beach and lots of fun things to do on Route 28

I was impressed as soon as I walked in. It was spacious and comfortable. With two little boys, there was plenty of room to spread out. The bedrooms were comfortable. The bathrooms also looked new. The new fridge was appreciated (It needs to be leveled better so the door closes better)
Location is great too. Lovely lake nearby. Walk to ice cream store and nearby restaurant.
Scott is very available and attentive to issues. A great host.

This is a fine house to rent..convenient to major roads, but in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to a nice lake. House is well stocked and supplied in every respect. I personally loved the outdoor shower! Our dog Newman felt at home here, and the house was very dog friendly. Scott, the owner , actually cares about your experience at his house, and it shows!

Long Pond Cottage is a beautiful home. Scott took such care to prepare it to receive us upon arrival. We enjoyed breakfast each morning and dinner most evenings in the dining room. Our daughter loved making s'mores on the grill after dinner. We also relished eating at our favorite local restaurants: Seafood Sams and Yarmouth House. My husband and I had an amazing date at Harvest Wine Gallery on Thursday night with amazing cocktails and danced into the night to live jazz and blues. We will cherish the memories made this summer staying at Long Pond Cottage. Thank you again for trusting us to stay in and care for your home.

This is the first time that I, "Bonnie" aka Bunny/BaaBaa the family dog, have been able to go on vacation with my people and I can't wait to go back next year! My human 20 month old "sister" and I had a wonderful time playing together in the large enclosed backyard and sprinting through the sprinkler on many sunny afternoons. We also enjoyed being extremely close to Long Pond which provided a very safe area for my "sister" to play on the beach and a basketball court for my "dad" to practice his layups. The house was decorated with over-the-top cute, interesting and colorful artwork and many pieces had a wonderful canine vibe which made it so enjoyable for my family, my baby "sister" and myself. The owner provided for my every need, including 2 extremely large "dog rooms" (crates) that made my stay so comfortable when my family was away during the day. My "sister" hated to go to bed for her naps or in the evening, especially when there was so much going on, so it was really nice that the master suite area was close and tucked away, just off of the dining room. This allowed her to sleep in peace nearby while the rest of the adult family could spend time together yet still be very close in case she needed anything. I slept like a log every night, due to the swimming I was able to do during the day, the fresh air, long walks, quiet neighborhood, and the large backyard that allowed me burn off any leftover steam. My family also really enjoyed the well-stocked kitchen, variety of books, and media center in the family room. I also overheard them say how much they appreciated the fact that the the owner quickly responded to questions and wanted us to truly enjoy his special house. He thought of everything and we all had a wonderful vacation!!!

This is a marvelous place for families and kids of all ages or your family dogs. It is very close to Long Pond which has a nice playground for younger kids, basketball court, and a wonderful beach. There is also a great spot right around the corner from this house for dropping in your kayaks- so convenient and private that we felt comfortable leaving our kayaks on the water's edge for the week. The house had everything from books to toys and a well equipped kitchen with every possible appliance. The neighborhood was quiet and and no traffic so great walking for the family and dog. The large patio was perfect for grilling and evening meals and playing frisbee with the dog. Scott has thought of everything and is really focused on his guests having a perfect vacation. I highly recommend this fun and cute house PLUS a gracious and responsive owner!

My family and I had a wonderful week here! The house was exactly as described and perfect for our needs. The house is very clean and well-maintained, and it is obvious that Scott, the owner, has put a lot of time and care into taking care of the house. We brought our dog, and it was very easy to have her there with the fenced in back yard and crates available for her when we were out of the house. Our dog enjoyed lots of walks in the neighborhood, in a recreation area in West Dennis and on a trail near a beach.

Our kids ages 14 and 10 slept comfortably in the bedroom with 2 twin beds and the adults had plenty of space in the other bedrooms. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything we needed and more! We enjoyed having a barbecue one night and loved having breakfast out on the patio every morning.

Scott's specific instructions about the house made it easy to take care of everything we needed that week. He was available by text when I had a question and was very helpful! The house is close to a lake, beaches, restaurants, mini golf, an inflatable park for the kids, supermarkets etc. If we plan another vacation in Cape Cod, I would be happy to stay here again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at Long Pond Cottage. This beautifully decorated home is full of charm and provides a great home away from home on the Cape. Beach weather had not yet arrived during our visit, so we spent our days exploring the area. Some highlights included Whydah Pirate Museum, Heritage Museum and Gardens, Edward Gorey House, and the Cape Cod Natural History Museum and Trail. The kitchen is small, but well equipped. There is a great fish market close by and we grilled shrimp and fish a couple of nights. Owner Scott is a pleasure to deal with and very accommodating. When we reported a broken toaster, he had a new one sent to the house. Long Pond Cottage is also one of the nicest dog friendly homes we have rented, with dog crates, sofa cover provided, and a very nice fenced back yard. The neighborhood with its pond is very charming and perfect for walks. Our Porties give it 5 stars, too.

I've rented close to 20 houses on VRBO/HomeAway and Scott's cottage in South Yarmouth may be my all-time favorite. Loved the layout, decor, comfort level, fenced yard, great location, and especially how welcoming Scott is towards his canine guests (including dog beds, crates and blankets for the furniture!) Clancy and I enjoyed trips to the National Seashore, meals from Arthur's Clam Shack in Eastham, pies from Marion's Pie Shop in Chatham (cannot overstate how incredible these were), and just chilling in the family room or backyard. We hope to be back with more friends next year!

This was our second time staying at Long Pond Cottage and it once again did not disappoint us. It definitely gave us the feeling of home away from home. It's location was perfect for us as we attended a wedding in Chatham and made many quick visits to the beach, taking advantage of beautiful late-September weather. The layout of Scott's home worked perfectly for us and was equally convenient to manage the dogs over the long weekend. Scott was very helpful with restaurant and travel logistics. We'll definitely keep this on our regular go to rental list. Thanks Scott.

I have been renting houses on the cape for 20 years. I can honestly say this is the best house I've ever rented, and I can't wait to rent it again next year. The house is in a lovely neighborhood and a 5 min walk to Long Pond. My kids and my dog loved swimming in the pond and playing on the playground. It is a nice quiet neighborhood with pretty homes and friendly neighbors. It's a 1 min drive to route 28, so easy access wherever you are headed. If you have kids there is plenty to do within 10 mins of the house - beaches, arcades, golf, ice cream, shopping, etc. It's a great location. The house is roomy, clean and I personally really liked how it was decorated. It felt like a beach house, but it wasn't cluttered with too much beachy stuff. Everything is well organized and easy to fine. Scott is on top of everything. I am pretty picky, but I honestly can't say anything negative about the place. The best part was that my 11 year old son who hates renting houses (why would we stay in a house smaller than ours that doesn't have any of our stuff?) actually enjoyed himself and wants to go back!!

Scott, what a relaxing and enjoyable home for a vacation, it was more then we could have imagined, everything for a kitchen was available for all of our cooking needs. The decor just lovely, as well as your photos on the walls.we never made it to the estate sale,but thank you for that info. There was so much to do, the lake, the beachs. As soon as we walked in the door we fell in love. This house is decorated with beautiful photography, pottery items and the furniture is perfect. We loved how we could close off half of the house after the children went to bed and there were plenty of kitchen supplies. We had a great time and look forward to next year in this perfect house! When we walked into Long Pond Cottage, we were overwhelmed at how beautiful and tranquil the house makes you feel. There is plenty of room in the house for 6 people. The house was cleaned to the hilt. It feels very private with the beautiful shrubbery in the front of the house. It has everything to offer for comfort and we wanted for nothing when we cooked our dinners in the well stocked kitchen. The comfort of the TV room was beyond words, we could have sat in that room all day, very cozy. Scott has decorated the house impeccably. The neighborhood is beautiful, a walk to the lake is well in order. We chatted with Tony across the street and he was very gracious and helpful. Our big adventure was to get out to Martha's Vineyard in Oaks Bluff, well worth the time as the boat ride and Oaks Bluff is fantastic. Also, we stopped at the Metal Detector store and talked to Eleanor who had plenty of stories. Scott, thank.you for a beautiful vacation at Long Pond Cottage, see ya next year, John & Leah

...It had been a few years since our last stay at the lovely cottage and if possible, it was even better than remembered. The cozy home is so comfortable with two "living rooms" for stretching out and relaxing -- and the entire house is decorated perfectly so you don't feel like you're in a rental! Since our last visit, Scott has redone the master bathroom and it's a great update. And while we enjoyed every minute at the house, we had forgotten how incredibly convenient the location is! My husband got to golf some great courses and I found that I was never far away from some great attractions (such as the Heritage Museum in Sandwich) or shopping in Chatham, or great photography drives. Also, grocery and drug stores are less than five minutes from the house even though the cottage is tucked on a quiet street, just a short walk from Long Pond. Logan, our big goofy dog, couldn't get enough of romping in the back yard and we never had to worry because it is all securely fenced in -- a great convenience! Scott is a pleasure to deal with and really wants his guests to feel at home and make the most of their time on the Cape. ...We couldn't have asked for more....and can't wait to return for another visit!!!

We found Long Pond Cottage clean and inviting upon our arrival. The decor was playful and very Cape Cod. In other words, delightful! Was impressed with the care and thought the owner put into making our stay comfortable and relaxing and creating a charming home away from home. The location is ideal, centrally located to all the must-see attractions and Routes 6, 6A and 28. Churchill found the backyard exciting, to say the least. So many new things to investigate! The area was secure and dog friendly as well. We look forward to visiting again to celebrate the anniversary of our Big Event

Scott was incredibly responsive, professional and easy to work with. Should I ever rent a vacation property, I will model myself after him. His welcome book should be published...it covers everything.

The home is the perfectly decorated cape house and better equipped than most homes - kitchen, electronics, everything you need! The fenced in backyard was perfect for our mini Schnauzer to wander safely, play fetch or just sit beside us while we enjoyed our morning coffee or afternoon read.

I am so glad my "human" family chose this house for our vacation. I know it can be difficult to find dog friendly properties, but they hit the jackpot with this place!! My tail is still wagging every time I think of that big fenced in backyard with so many new places to sniff and explore! We all loved going for walks to Long Pond which was so close and easy to get to. Mom and Dad loved that the master bedroom suite was so private while the 16 yr old twins loved that their bedrooms were on the other side of the house, too! We all loved eating outdoors but found the lovely dining room a great place for playing board games and cards. The chess and checker table was really neat! I lay right under it as the nightly challenges took place. After long days at the beach,the outdoor shower was a favorite for everyone, but me! This house is so conveniently located to beaches, shopping and restaurants. My personal favorite eating establishment is The Dog House on Lower County Rd. in Dennis where dogs are welcomed! The owner even took my picture and placed it on their Facebook page! He gave me doggie treats too, while my family rave about the hot dogs, hand cut fries and onion rings. Scott, the owner of the this great home, also loves dogs and he is very responsive to any need that may arise. We all had a fantastic time here and next year maybe we'll get to stay for two weeks! My wife and I (+ son and friend for 2 days) recently spent a week at this property. Our first visit to Cape Cod and our first trip with Chloe, our 9 year old lab/pit-bull mix.

We chose the perfect place - comfortable, homey, dog friendly (fenced in back yard - perfect for Chloe) tastefully equipped with furniture to match the home's character.

This home is centrally located and it was easy to get around the Cape. We took the opportunity to visit most of the major towns/areas. Our favorite was Wellfleet, mainly because it had managed to keep its village feel, its old-world charm, and the harbor had not been converted into a modern marina. We also took Chloe on long walks to Coast Guard Beach (30 minutes drive to Eastham but well worth it - dogs need to be on a lead at all times). We managed to avoid the high summer (starts June 19th) car parking fees of $15!
Another highlight of the stay was Marion's Pie Shop (mentioned in the welcome folder). Best pies outside of the UK :-) .

Overall, a comfortable, relaxing week spent in a well equipped, tastefully decorated, charming home.

We needed to find lodging around the Hyannis area as my daughter and her friend were running the 1/2 marathon....in Feb no less. Scott's Long Pond house ended up being the ideal situation. The layout of the home worked real well, the fires made us feel right at home, and the dogs enjoyed the fenced in yard. The proximity to the Nantucket beaches was perfect too, as we walked there each day (fortunately the weather cooperated with sunny skies and decent temps each day). The location of the property made it very easy to get to the different Cape locations we wanted to visit. Thanks Scott.

We loved our stay at Long Pond Cottage! The house is exactly like the photos, so there were no surprises. It is beautiful inside & out! We felt at home, so it was easy to relax. It's wonderfully decorated and very clean.

There are so many cool places to curl up with a book, (if you get that chance). Our little dogs were not scared at all, in fact they got up early every day just to watch the squirrels playing outside! They really enjoyed playing in the backyard....They loved it as much as we did. The house is in a nice neighborhood with very little traffic, but it's just a 3 minute drive to the beach or to Bass River.

There are restaurants & stores within minutes as well. I had the best lobster chowder at Skippers Restaurant and the pizza at Carluccios was delish!

Overall, this house was amazing and I would stay again in a heartbeat:) thanks Scott!

We had a great stay at this cottage. It was perfect for our two families, with the house having practically two wings, one for each of us. The tv room was really cozy. We also enjoyed the backyard, making the most of the great Sept weather and the BBQ. The location was perfect for us to enjoy both the top of the Cape and the beaches and national park, as well as a day trip to Martha's Vineyard. Scott was very helpful and responsive to make the booking and ensure we had a really nice stay. Thanks Scott!

This cottage is in the perfect location for enjoying both Dennis and Yarmouth beaches. Aside from being charming, this home is spacious, very clean and offers all amenities. The lovely garden and fenced-in backyard provided the setting for many hours of relaxation. Our Wheaten terrier enjoyed swimming daily in the fresh water pond right down the road. A fantastic location to stay and enjoy the Cape-and a bonus to be able to bring your pup as well. We look forward to coming back for another visit!

Our family had one of our best vacations at the cottage on Long Pond!! The house was just perfect with a fully stocked kitchen, spacious lay out, and relaxing environment. This was our first time renting a home for vacation, and the family was more than happy! . Everyone had their own space (including our dog). Long Pond is a short walk from the home, and offers a perfect spot for fishing, or just relaxing. Beautiful beaches and golf courses are just a short drive from the home. Also, there are plenty of shops, restaurants, and other attractions very close by. Our family strongly recommends this cottage to anyone looking for a place to call their true home away from home!

We can't tell you enough how much we enjoyed this property. It was a last minute decision to head up to the Cape for some relaxation, and traveling with a dog could be a problem. We were so lucky to find this rental!

The back yard was great for our dog Riley to run around in, the location was perfect home base to get to the beaches and some great shopping in Hyannis and Chatham. On one of the colder nights we even had a fire in the fireplace. Things to note: On Season the rules are strict regarding dogs on beaches, but if you go up toward the National Seashore, they are allowed passed the lifeguarded areas, and also allowed on most all beaches in Provincetown. We heard that Marconi was the best "dog beach" but the stairs were being replaced so it was closed while we were there.

We can't wait to go back! A true home away from home, complete with our dog! Thanks Scott!

We love Long Pond Cottage. My wife, dogs and I have stayed several times now at Long Pond and we feel like it is a home away from home for us. The home itself is very comfortable, spotlessly clean, well maintained, beautifully decorated and very spacious. With three bedrooms and two full baths (one recently remodeled), a dining room, living room, den and nice fully fenced in outdoor space you cannot go wrong. Just read the guest book when you get there and you can tell that most people feel the same about Long Pond Cottage. It is easy to tell that the families that stay there care about the place and feel at home when they stay.

The location is ideal. It is situated in a nice quiet neighborhood on the central Cape and easy to get to everything. Take a nice walk with your dogs in the neighborhood, strike up a conversation with a friendly neighbor or walk down to the Long Pond beach. You can do it all right there. Otherwise Nantucket Bay beaches are a quick drive and there is a ton of sightseeing, mini-golf, restaurants, museums and other things to do very close by.

Not much more of a drive and you can be at the national seashore or Provincetown; or you can go in the other direction and visit the Woods Hole area. Long Pond Cottage is the perfect base to get to everything on the Cape. Whatever you want to do there are ample maps and guide books in the living room to explore and figure out what will be your next adventure.

We had a wonderful stay at your cottage! The house literally had everything you could possibly need. House is very well maintained with clear pride of ownership. It was fun to explore! Played fetch with our dog in fenced-in yard and I used the outdoor shower everyday! Great neighborhood for walks with our son & dog. Nice pond & beach with playground for our son. Great if we didn't feel like lugging everything to the ocean beach. Smugglers beach was really close & perfect for families-nice snack bar & facilities, great boat launch, pier for fishing & warm water beach with terns diving for fish! We enjoyed Seafood Sams & Cape Cod Creamery-both a short walk/bike ride from house. So much so close-great location! Hope to come back someday! Thanks Scott!!

We had a great stay at Long Pond Cottage. It was our first visit to Cape Cod and we couldn't have asked for a more centrally located place to call home for the week. The neighborhood was a quiet refuge after long days of sightseeing, shopping, and whale watching. The fact that we were never more than a hour or less from any of our activities allowed us to take advantage of all the area had to offer, and gave us time to relax as well. The house was well appointed and helped to immerse us in the Cape lifestyle. We are looking forward to returning again, maybe during warmer weather to get in some sun bathing!

We have not one complaint-the cottage was perfect. You thought of everything. Lovely décor, comfortable attractive furniture - loved all your rugs too! Neighborhood is quiet and perfect for walking solo or with a canine or two, yet close to 28 and 6 for excursions.

We really got into miniature golf this trip and loved the Pirate’s Cove; two courses, great water features. Laughed ourselves silly. Went to the Edward Gorey Museum; well worth the visit. Tea at both The Dunbar Tea Room and the Optimist Café. Sandwich is fun to walk around and has a cute dog shop; Sandy Paws.

Dining room table was perfect size for Scrabble and card games (our nightly activity). Kitchen was well stocked-but we only use the coffee maker and fridge.

Thanks for the dog crate – we did use yours and set it up in the dining room; two little Italian Greyhounds had plenty of room.

My girls loved the antiques around the house.I loved the roomy dining room. Our puppy Cora was happy she had lots of room to walk around. The location in Yarmouth was perfect for us because we could get to route 28 quickly where all the restaurants and stores are conveniently located. A great place for breakfast is the Keltic Kitchen.

Going in April is still off season but we enjoyed our week.Its a good opportunity to explore places such as the nature museum on 6a in Brewster. We took our car on the ferry to Martha's Vineyard for the whole day and spent another day out in Provincetown. The weather was cool on most days but we still managed to go to a different beach each day and park anywhere with ease. Scott even sent us information on an estate sale near by.

We will definitely like to return next season.

Our family was pleasantly surprised by the size & charm of this home (feels bigger than pic shows) -- beautifully decorated and very clean. Our almost year-old lab loved the enclosed back yard and tuckered our little boy out at nights running around :)

We all went swimming in the nice pond around the corner, ate out at DiParma's, Sun Dancer's, Skippy's, played tennis, went fishing off the nearby jetty (the whole pier clapped when our 6-yr. old landed a bluefish!), mini-golfed, rode go-karts, and relaxed.

If you're looking for the Cape Cod experience, this home will fulfill your wishes. It's located in a quiet residential neighborhood, close to restaurants, shopping, beaches and entertainment destinations. The decor is quaint, comfortable, and full of New England charm. It feels like home the minute you arrive. Dogs can spend their free time investigating all the nooks and crannies in the backyard. The owner provided a basket full of brochures of things to do and see. He also took the time to notify us of some newly listed events he thought we might be interested in while we were on vacation.

When we return to the Cape, this is where we'll stay......

Packed up with our Italian Greyhounds and left for a wonderful vacation. Our dogs couldn't wait to get out in the yard and run around and it was so nice to hang out outside and grill and read knowing they were safe inside the fence! The beach was so close and we walked the dogs through the neighborhood to the pond to check it out. We shopped and visited nearby towns and flea markets, but our favorite spot was at the house just relaxing and playing with our granddaughter. We put up her blow up pool and she had a blast! Thanks for a great vacation.

We really enjoyed our week at the cottage. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. It was a luxury to be able to walk to the pond beach with our 2 year old. The playground at the pond was a nice touch as well. The location was absolutely perfect and was only a quick ride to stores, restaurants, site seeing, South Yarmouth beaches, and of course the Cape Cod Creamery! The house itself was a great fit for our family. The fenced backyard provided a play area for our son and dog and a Weber grill for Dad. The master bed and bath were beautifully renovated. Loved the hardwood floors too! We'll certainly be back again next year.

We found this house to be in the perfect location for our girl's escape week. The interior of the house was charming and there was nothing we looked for in the kitchen we did not find. Scott is a great host and paid attention to all the details. I would definitely come back! We did not have the best of weather but that didn't matter to us, we still had a great time. "The house was great! The fireplace made it cozy at night and the Cape Cod beaches made it perfect during the day. There were six of us there, and everyone had their own space. We cooked a great dinner on the BBQ then sat around the dining room table for a good family dinner. Would recommend this house to anyone looking to get away to a quaint, quite home on the Cape."

We had an absolutely wonderful time, spent quietly reading and playing board games, with outings to the Black Cat and Captain Parker's on Route 28. Also a trip to Woods Hole. It was so peaceful this time of year, I wonder whether I would ever trouble to brave the traffic and crowds in the summer. One thing I must say, the watercolors are exquisite -- and 2010 seems to have been a very productive year for you. You must be an admirer of Winslow Homer, as I am. Again, thank you for everything. You have a beautiful home.

The house was great. Our time spent on the Cape this year was mainly on the beach and at the cottage. We visited the local beach in Yarmouth, Nauset Beach, Marconi Beach and the beach in Chatham as well during the week. We saw seals swimming at every one we visited, except Yarmouth! That was fantastic. We went on a whale watch out of Barnstable. We saw 20 whales. It was amazing! The boat ride was worth the trip, as it was a gorgeous day to be out on the water. I went to a card class at Colorful Creations in Hyannis...you might want to mention that store in your book, as there are lots of people who scrapbook and can find Cape Cod paper, etc. to scrapbook their Cape Cod memories! We did a lot of cooking and baking at the cottage as well. We also went to Captain Parkers...a tradition and Spanky's Clam Shack. It was fantastic...even better than Captain Parkers in my opinion. One of the things we all love about the cottage are all the books you have to read...the coffee table books especially. We even took a look at your own book of photos, which we don't remember seeing last year. They are gorgeous! You honestly have a little slice of heaven in Long Pond cottage. We know that we will be staying there for many years to come, as long as it remains available. Thank you for everything Scott! Already looking forward to next year :)

We had a wonderful time at the cottage! It is so beautiful and spacious. We took a boat trip to Monomoy Island to see the seals, that was amazing. We loved the location of the cottage, it was close to everything. Hayley really enjoyed cooling off in the pond. One of our best Cape vacations ever! Hope to visit again soon.

"This house has all the charm of being home...friendly neighborhood and quiet...rarely do you see anyone except for dog walking. Being in S. Yarmouth was easy access to anywhere and you can take your bike to the beach if you like. There's lots to do within minutes from the house like kayaking, golf, CC Rail Trail is 10 minutes away in Dennis, miniature golf or a max 45min car ride gets you anywhere else. We liked this a lot because exploring is in our blood. We saw the entire Cape without the hours of driving at a time and still had afternoons on the beach...Woods Hole to P-Town, bay to the ocean. Oh, and the fenced large backyard was great for the dog! For those with small children Long Pond has it's own beach so you are even closer to the house then the ocean. Hardest part of the trip was leaving to go home..."

We all enjoyed our stay this week, including our Golden Retriever Sofi! Your home is lovely and so relaxing. We found all of the comforts of home and had a nice family BBQ on the patio. My mom was admiring the decor and how well equipped every room is and is mulling around the idea of possibly spending some off season time on the Cape. We visited a few new beaches (in between the cloudy days), found a few new places to enjoy the favorites of summer, stopped at some of the usual standards and saw seals at Nauset today but luckily for us no sharks. The other night we took a sunset cruise out of the Sesuit Marina - Lobster Roll cruises - the sunset cruise was amazing and priced reasonably at $42 pp for a 2 hr cruise complete with lobster dinner or other selections. The views were amazing and dinner was great too!! It's something I think that vacationers would enjoy that's one of those off the beaten path things. While we were down Nauset way, we traveled over to Arnold's for some of the best clams on the Cape.

We had a great vacation. As always, it ended too quickly! This was our sixth summer in a row at the Cape and we plan on continuing that tradition. We would be very interested in staying at Long Pond Cottage again in the future. We were so impressed with it and we were very comfortable there, and our family and friends who visited liked it a lot as well. We especially enjoyed the private fenced-in backyard--it was so nice to let the kids play out there and know they were safe. It's a comfortable, well-decorated, well-stocked home. The location is also very good. Last summer we rented a house close by on Wood Street. We really like Yarmouth because it's centrally located and there's so much to do around there. We went to the lake beach a few times, West Dennis Beach once, we went to a Y-D Red Sox game at the high-school, went to the Lavender Farm and Marion's Pie Shop at your suggestion and both were very nice (I think we'll be getting pies at Marion's every summer from now on), Cape Cod Mall, shopping, dining out, things like that. Nothing too exciting, but very relaxing and fun. Thanks again for your hospitality and for answering all of my questions quickly. We will be in touch in the future!

We had a terrific time on the Cape and at the cottage! The house was wonderful and we hope to be able to spend another week there in the (hopefully not too distant) future. The furnishings were beautiful and the kitchen well stocked! We enjoyed having my family over for dinner and there was plenty of place settings for all (not the norm for a rental). Your wall photos are beautiful and I enjoyed looking through the Cape Cod books w/ my morning coffee. Our youngest, Nathan, had a good time learning to play chess too! We enjoyed our side trips...tour of Fenway Park, walk down Main St Falmouth, boat to Martha's Vineyard, Provincetown, Cape Cod Creamery (the best!), Pirates Cove for mini golf and of course morning walks around the neighborhood w/ our dog and the beach and park on Long Pond. Our week went by too quickly but we brought home some very fond memories! Thanks for providing such a great home for us to come back to each day of our stay!

The location of your home was perfect, close to everything. We are both antique furniture buffs and appreciate beautiful decorating so the interior of the house was so warm and welcoming to us. Loved the seating areas in the bedrooms, it made it so cozy. Also, you had absolutely everything we needed there for it to be our home for a week. The closeness to Long Pond was also terrific. "We booked Long Pond Cottage, and found ourselves tucked conveniently in Yarmouth between Long Pond and easy access to Route 28 attractions and restaurants. We were enchanted by the ample floor plan and the gracious furnishings with a touch of classical and whimsy. We came together with cards and puzzles at the vintage game table, and dined with choice table settings and easily prepared meals from the well-equipped kitchen. Our two octogenarian moms easily navigated the one-level living and relished the outdoor spaces. Looking forward to our future return to this divine retreat."

"We arrived safe and sound, if a little bit wet, on Saturday afternoon. Once we stepped inside your home, we felt like we were "officially" on vacation and the rain didn't matter one bit. The photos of the cottage do not do it justice. It's absolutely beautiful! It is certainly a wonderful place to call a "home away from home." We love it and will definitely be back next year. I've read many of your coffee table books on the Cape and cottage life already. I also plan on making a recipe from your Cape Cod cookbook.
