    Wonderful house

Our family of 5 ( 4 adults and 12 year old grandson) recently stayed at this great house. The location is perfect and the views are amazing. We often saw the osprey nearby, kayaked every day (kayaks and life preservers are provided), fished from the dock and even saw a fireworks display across the bay on the night we arrived. The house is fully equipped, very roomy, extremely clean upon arrival and the owners very helpful and responsive to any questions. I hope to return again

    Thank You Diana:
You left the house in great condition, nice and clean and you even did some of the laundry.
We could tell that your family was enjoying our home/kayaks/swimming/fishing
and you could not have been a better tenant.
We thank you for taking the time to write this review and certainly look forward to your return.

    perfect multi generation home

Our family includes Grandparents, parents, an aunt and 2 young girls. The house was great for us. It is much bigger than the pictures. The beach is natural which my granddaughters loved, shells, crabs and seaweed. The bay is tidal but very calm. Perfect for kayaking (which are included in the rental) We had campfire and marshmallows 2 nights. Even with a couple rainy days, we found things to do very close by. This is a house where you don't have to bring anything but you clothes and food.

Just a note to Mary for taking the time to write this thoughtful review.
We strive hard to make our home 'have it all' and it's good to hear we are getting better at that.
Looking forward to having this family return again next year with more improvements coming.

A true home away from home

This gem is everything you are looking for on Cape Cod and more… We had the pleasure of staying here with my parents, our two children (22 and 17) and my husband and myself this past week and we were so sad when the week was over. The house has plenty of bedrooms for everyone to spread out and there are even 2 "living room" areas. My son was able to bring his Xbox and had his own area.

The owners are right next door and are very sweet if you need anything but do not make you feel uncomfortable in any way.

The kitchen has everything- we even had lobster one night and there were crackers and small forks to use. The grill was great to cook on. We cooked most nights but did find some wonderful restaurants as well. (The Yarmouth House is highly recommended). We went for ice cream a few nights right up the street at the mini golf place.

We enjoyed watching the bunny rabbits in the yard, going to the beach everyday, laying on the chairs in the yard to get some sun, eating outside on the beautiful patio. My husband loved fishing and kayaking in the backyard oasis right on the water. All the supplies are there for you, including fishing poles, bikes, kayaks, beach equipment.

I highly recommend this beautiful retreat to any family looking for a place to spread out and feel like they are truly at home at the Cape.

    Beautiful views! Perfect family getaway

We have been going to the Dennis/Yarmouth area for more than 20 years but this was our first time on Lewis Bay and in this house and we couldn't be more impressed! The views and location of this house are amazing. It's peaceful and private but not far from Hyannis and all the fun activities of the Cape. The four kayaks were a big hit for our family and kids. We loved having direct access to the water and paddling to a secluded beach you can only access by water. We also loved towing the little ones in rafts behind the kayaks. :) The kids also loved crabbing right off the dock and shore.

Other favorites of this house for me were enjoying my coffee on the patio and looking out at the serene water and then at night having s'mores over the fire pit. The house was spacious and clean and had everything we needed. Also a few bikes we could use which was a plus.

The hosts are amazing! Very kind and accommodating and available if we needed anything, but also letting us enjoy the week and having our privacy.

We definitely hope to come back. One of my favorite experiences at the Cape in the last 20 years! Thank you Peter and Madeline for sharing your home with us!

    Exceeded Expectations

This home was perfect for us! Beautifully and comfortably furnished. Plenty of room for our adult family of 4 and my sibling's adult family of 3 to spread out and have personal space and yet also enjoy time together.

The kitchen was stocked with any tool we could possibly need. The firepit was perfect for our extended family of 13 to gather and enjoy a beautiful view and smores! Morning coffee and evening cocktails either on the patio or from the living spaces were made even better with the view of the water. It was an easy short walk to an uncrowded beach. Our family enjoyed all the amenities of bikes and kayaks! Landscaping was gorgeous. Location was ideal - quiet little side street so you feel like a 'cape codder', but right next to the main roads and hustle and bustle of Hyannis and beyond.

Thanks to the wonderful hosts who live right next door, we even were loaned some binoculars to make the bird watching even better!
Bottom Line - we would highly recommend and would most definitely return!

Thank You Kathleen for your nice comments:
Like I said on your last vacation day, no family in the past 14 yrs. has spent more time in the water than yours.
It's always good to hear that our guest appreciate the preparation work that it takes to make each family stay special.
Every year we endeavor to make improvements like the outdoor shower, fire pit and added landscaping.
Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay and yes please do return.

Beautiful on the water location, full of birds, fish, and fun!

We stayed for two weeks in August and we were not disappointed and never bored. The place really does have everything you need. The location is great to access anywhere on the Cape, if you even feel like you need to leave! 30 minutes to Mashpee Commons and Chatham, about an hour to Woods Hole and P-Town. Easy walk to The Lewis bay beach at the end of Baxter was never crowded. A few minute drive to Sea Gull beach (I have to say though quite busy, and little more nerve racking for the overly cautious). But the teens needed the waves and larger beach for some of the time.

We brought our 18 foot SeaRay Boat, which was perfect for exploring the Bay and the inlets. A nearby dock in Hyannis, very easy to access and only a quick 10 minute ride over to the dock. We were able to tie up on the floating dock, boat lift was not needed for our site boat. We saw many seals in Lewis Bay, a group of 7 seemed to hang out in the same spot every day. And there is are a few sandy beaches/spits you can ride into if you want your own private beach.

As far as fishing though we couldn't beat the dock! We had a lot of luck catching snapper blues and some stripped bass (but not regulation size). There are clams, and blue crabs, horseshoe crabs, and shrimp. A true nature lovers delight. Bring your water shoes! There are a lot of clam shells, being dropped by the birds to get a tasty treat.

The water was warm ~78. My husband was able to do his swimming routine right outside of the house (during higher tides.) He also was easily able to swim off of the Baxter St beach (for those who are avid swimmers. The area was great for kayaking or paddle board. A lot of people took advantage of that in the area.

The owners are super friendly, and totally out of sight (unless you need them of course). SO don't feel like you are being watched.

There are plenty of beach chairs in good condition, sand toys, 2.kayaks, Rafts, and life preservers. Even a few rods and fishing tackle. There are some adult and kids bikes too for those so inclined for riding. I am one to always over pack, but really didn't need the extras. BBQ grill is in great condition for those grill lovers. The downstairs room was great for the teenagers to have their own space, a queen and two twins are down there, plus a small kitchenette, it has its own walkout access To the beach as well.

I have nothing bad to say about this place, it met all my criteria and then some! We are definitely considering coming back again next year.

I was able to work a few days with the WiFi, no problem. And the TV is new and has all the access you need to any of your streaming services. We only used the AC twice, as the cross breezes were usually strong and cool.

    WOW !
Thank you for the most complete review of the rental home we have ever read.
Christine's review should answer just about any question one might have about the property and its wonderful location. My wife and I would love to have this couple back next year because they thoroughly enjoyed the home with swimming, boating, beaching (you name it).

As Owners, we do make an extra effort to assure that all needs are addressed for each tenant and the home and linens are professionally cleaned for them prior to arrival. it is so nice to hear how much they did appreciate that effort.

PLEASE STAY SAFE AND DO COME BACK.

    Great Home and Location

What an unbelievable spot. The homeowners were great. They were available for any questions that we had. The home was immaculate. The view is stunning. Our two boys had a great time fishing off the back dock - they caught Scup, Flounder and Stripers. The front yard was great for wiffleball - and the dead end street was perfect for learning to ride bikes.

The beach was a quick 7 minute walk away. Water was pretty warm there. All the beach chairs\toys\etc were provided in the garage. Drove to Seagull Beach one day too, which was just a 10 minute drive.

It's such a great home to just pull up on a Saturday, unload your car, and have everything you need right there. We usually head out for a few dinners, but the place and view is so great we just cooked out a lot and enjoyed the spectacular view. Took the kids out on the provided kayaks for a cruise around the bay.

We're looking forward to staying there again!

    Would love to stay again

Beautiful place! Perfect for small grandchildren under the age of 5 with warm water and a short walk to get to shallow water. Very accommodating owners. Beautiful views and the house was perfect, as we all had our own separate spaces. Would love to stay again!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. It is always a pleasure to hear that the preparation work for our rental home is appreciated. You nicely identified all the reasons why we bought the property some 10 years ago. We noted that your family left our home clean and in great condition. Please do return.

    Gorgeous Setting

Our group of seven just returned from the most gorgeous setting on Lewis Bay. Wonderful views of the bay, constant breezes off the water--and you are AT the water's edge--osprey nesting in front of you a short distance away, songbirds, kayaks available for our use--just amazing. This, matched with incredible owners, Peter and Madeline, who were so helpful to us, loaning a walker to the 90-year-old member of our party for our entire stay. That made all the difference for her comfort in getting around both in and out of the house. The home is so well appointed that you will probably find everything you need within reach. You will feel right at home the moment you arrive. We had a wonderful time! show more show less

Madeline and I were very happy to have this family renting our home. Especially to see the 90 year old so pleased with the walker we provided. We understand that she was going to get one for herself when she got back home. It was so wonderful to see them all enjoying their stay. It's always good to see how people react to all the little details we address before their arrival. Please do come back next year.

"What an amazing "home away from home"! We loved it so much We didn't want to leave and tried to stay a few extra days. Right on the water and all of the amenities you could imagine, plus many more. There was something for everyone from my 84 year old aunt to my 13 year old nephew. You can't go wrong by choosing this location. We will be back next year! "

We are presently retired after starting and operating an Architectural Design firm for 35 years in Western Mass, which still exists today and is now in the hands of our three children. Our family has not only provided design services for may clients over the years, but have also personally developed numerous properties including converting a historic paper mill with a waterfall to luxury condominiums, plus completed award wining preservation projects for abandoned buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. We now pride ourselves on maintaining and improving our own waterfront properties, over the past 20+ years, which include St. Croix USVI, Cape Cod, MA and Marco Island FL.
We have been told that one big benefit is that we live next door to our rental home. Tenants like the fact that they can come to us with any questions or concerns they may have. If requested, on most occasions we are able to correct or repair some items immediately with little tenant interruption. We have been told that our own design experience and attention to detail is very apparent in our home. We have been able to make numerous tasteful improvements to our properties, which bring our tenants all the modern conveniences while allowing our rental home to still reflect the special experience of being in a traditional Cape Cod home.

What is special about this property?
    LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
We have been told that in the 60's this entire street was an island and was connected to the mainland. Our home has beautiful water views and full sun morning till afternoon due to its southerly orientation. The neighborhood has many upscale homes and we are not located in a dense rental area. The street is a dead end so traffic is at a minimum and many children have even learned to ride scooters and bicycles we have provided.

We are located right on 150' of saltwater frontage with its own beach, dock, floats and beautiful views of Mill Creek and Lewis Bay. There is easy boat access to Lewis Bay and beyond to Nantucket Sound. Even though we are close to everything this is a very quiet and private area.

There is much wildlife here, we are entertained daily by the nearby osprey nest as they dive for fish, many ducks, swans, geese, cormorants and herons visit at all times of the day. We have spotted seals in Lewis Bay recently. Tenants have told us that the fishing from our dock is the best in the area. We are near the ferries to Martha's Vineyard & Nantucket as well as Cape Cod Hospital and shopping on Main Street in Hyannis. There are numerous grocery stores/local shopping within 10 minutes from the house including the Cape Cod Mall. We have waterfront dining like Tugboats & Baxters.

The home is professionally cleaned before each family arrives. We provide all linens and towels. The Kitchen is fully furnished for your use.

What is special about your town?
Yarmouth is located in the center of Cape Cod making day trips to towns such as Provincetown & Falmouth an easy adventure. Yarmouth/Hyannis area has many well known public beaches a few are Sea Gull Beach, Greys Beach, Colonial Acres Beach, Kalmus Beach & Veterans Park Beach. In addition to being close to Hyannis, and the Cape Cod Hospital, we have the Ferry boats to the Islands, and beautiful waterfront restaurants. Yarmouth/Hyannis area also has churches of all denominations. There are many town beaches in Yarmouth to visit as well as our nearby Lewis Bay sugar sand beach at the end of Baxter Rd. only a 4 minute walk away. There are several mini golfing areas, an inflatable park, pirate museum, etc. to visit. If you are a bike rider there are several bike trails in this area and bike trails all throughout Cape Cod.
