Description

Description

Welcome home to “The Parsonage” in Yarmouth Port on beautiful Cape Cod. This Federal style home was built in 1823 and is a noted landmark on the historic “Captains’ Mile.” With two buildings, 6 bedrooms, 5.5 baths, and over 5,000 square feet, there is ample living space for larger groups to enjoy. The property sits on a .77 acre lot and includes multiple grass areas for your favorite backyard games; a large inground pool; screened in porch; outdoor shower; basketball hoop; and a six-person jacuzzi tub nestled in a large wrap-around porch complete with plenty of seating and gas grill for barbecuing.

In the centrally air conditioned main house, there are two en suite bedrooms on the second floor with queen beds and full-size baths and two separate bedrooms with two twin beds each. Downstairs, there is a large master suite with a luxurious soaking tub and views of the beautiful backyard and pool area. While inside, feel free to read in the quiet parlor, host a formal meal in the original dining room, or relax in the den right off the large kitchen. You might find yourself spending most of your indoor time in the spacious four-season sunroom overlooking the backyard festivities.

In the detached carriage house, there is a powder room and separate shower room conveniently located just steps from the pool and a comfortable air-conditioned loft that includes a queen bed, small kitchenette, and sitting and dining areas.

Located in central Cape Cod, you will find yourself in the middle of it all. Just a short walk or drive from the house, there are both bay and oceanside beaches, traditional and mini golf courses, museums, fantastic restaurants, plenty of ice cream stands, walking and biking trails, etc. While there is much to explore on the Cape itself, feel free to stay closer to home and lounge by the pool, get lost in a book in the hammock, challenge a family member to a game of horseshoes in the yard, or enjoy some restful time in one of the historic rooms of The Parsonage.

Discounts available for multiple weeks.

    Amazing spot!!

Everything in this house was perfect! Jackie was so great and flexible to work with. The house was clean, and had lots of rooms. We had 8 adults and 3 kids. There were more than enough beds as well as "office" spaces for those who were doing some remote working and those who just needed a break from the chaos. The pool was fantastic- clean, warm; a highlight for sure! I tend to be an over-packer. I brought my own nice vacuum, blackout shades, steak knives, etc. but I didn't need any of it because it was already all in the house. The kitchen, pots/pans, plates, silverware was clean and there was a large table where we could all enjoy dinner together. We walked across the street to the playground multiple times, which the kids loved! Doesn't get any better than this! show more show less

    Magical Vacation

After spending many years vacationing on the Cape when our children were small, we wanted a vacation home that could comfortably accommodate our now much larger family. Our recent vacation at the Parsonage was absolutely perfect!

The home is pristine, and beautifully updated and decorated. Being fans of early American history, we loved the historical significance of staying in the Parsonage, circa 1823! The rooms are all large and Include a gorgeous sunroom, the perfect setting for family dinners, games, and movie night.

The pool is the largest and most beautiful one we have ever seen in a backyard! Grown-ups and children alike enjoyed many hours swimming and playing with the myriad of toys and floats available. The grounds and gardens are well cared for, picturesque, and have many of our favorite hydrangeas!

The Carriage House ( pool house) too is such a bonus with its extra bedroom, bathroom, and shower!

There are many beaches and places to explore nearby, far more possibilities than time in a week!

Finally, Jackie and Mike are wonderful and caring hosts! It is obvious how much they love their home and how they desire renters to enjoy it to the fullest. From the very beginning, they promptly answered all our questions and were always available with ideas and suggestions. Their kindness and attentiveness was important to us and did not go unnoticed.

We highly recommend the Parsonage for your next vacation! Our family had a magical week there and hope to return one day soon!

Beautiful home with an amazing pool!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Parsonage last week! We loved that the owners have kept the history and charm of a 200 year old house, but also added all the modern amenities in the kitchen and baths. The whole house was clean and welcoming. The kitchen is so well stocked and had everything we needed and then some! This was a perfect space for our family of three generations with ages ranging from 73 to 2. There was plenty of room for us to all spread out, though we found ourselves all in the sun room most nights playing cards. The loft above the pool house was a great space for our 18 and 20 year-olds to stay. The beautiful master bedroom and huge master bath on the first floor were perfect for our older family members who have trouble with stairs. The pool is fantastic - the kids had a blast! We loved that there were lots of pool floaties and beach gear for us to use - way above and beyond what you'd typically find in vacation rental homes. The landscaping, especially the gorgeous hydrangeas, is just beautiful.

The home is located on a road that is a bit busier than we expected, but the location also makes it so convenient to lots of shops and restaurants, and there are so many different beaches close by. Gray's beach, only a mile away, was so fun at low tide. The beach goes on for miles.

The owners were fantastic to work with. Jackie got back to us quickly regarding any questions we had, and she sent a very helpful pre-check-in welcome packet that was full of information about local restaurants and shops as well as info about many of the nearby beaches and other activities.

We highly recommend staying at the Parsonage. When we get back to the Cape sometime in the future we won't hesitate to stay here again!

    A place to make memories

We enjoyed our stay so much! The kitchen was well stocked for meals at home and all the best appliances. Lots of bedrooms for everyone to have their own and 2 twin bedrooms for the kids. We also had the bedroom over the garage which we didn't even have to use! Lots of games and puzzles for a rainy day and the backyard pool and hot tub for the beautiful weather. Nice to eat meals on the deck on cool evenings.

This home has the charm of a quaint old house and the amenities of a new home. A good time was had by all! Great location! show more show less

    Huge house with amazing pool!

We had such a great vacation at The Parsonage! Jackie is an exceptional host, she was so kind and welcoming, anytime we had a question she was so quick to answer. She also gave us great recommendations on where to go, things to do, restaurants, etc. she was super helpful and so nice.

The house is huge, plenty of space for 10 of us (5 adults and 5 kids). I don't even think we used all of the rooms but every room is decorated beautifully and everything is very clean! The kitchen is great with 2 refrigerators and plenty of space to prep all of your meals.
We spent most nights in the sunroom playing cards and having fun. the wrap around deck is so nice to just hang out on, relax, have cocktails while the kids played basketball and learned how to golf in the huge yard. There were pool toys, golf clubs, a bocce set, basketball court, just so much to do! The house is stocked!
There is so much land and space to sprawl out, it really was a beautiful place to take our vacation and beautifully maintained, inside and out.

The heated pool was the highlight of our stay, the kids were in it all day, and when the sun went down, we thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub on the beautiful wraparound deck. The location was great, there's a nice playground and park right across the street, and Greys Beach is a quick drive from the house.

I would highly recommend staying here, I can't wait to go back!!

    Parsonage

We had an absolutely amazing time at the Parsonage. The house was very large and we had so much room to spread out. In fact, there were parts of the house we never used. A family favorite was the pool as it is much larger than it looks. The kids spent hours in the pool and the hot tub. The kids also loved playing basketball which was located in its own area next to the driveway. We also enjoyed cooking at the house. The grill is a nice size and everything you need for cooking is included. />
We loved walking the one mile to Gray's beach to watch the sunset-it was spectacular!

We hope to stay at the Parsonage again next year!

    Highly Recommend for Large Family!

We stayed at Parsonage in July 2021. Overall experience was excellent. 100% as advertised. Huge pool, hot tub, 6 bedrooms, park/playground across street, and a mile walk to scenic Greys beach. We swam every day; something to do for all ages.

Communication with the owners - before and during rental - was top notch. Worth it for any large group. You will be very happy with this summer rental.

    What an amazing week!!

Our family was fortunate to come across the listing for the Parsonage...There were 11 of us, ranging in age from 6 to 79 and everyone equally enjoyed themselves.

What a beautiful, inviting, stunning and comfortable home! The house and property are in impeccable condition--just wait until you see the hydrangeas and overall landscaping. The owners' love and fine touches are evident everywhere. Take note of the generous welcome basket, the Cape history found in the parlor and welcome book, and the cute nods to the Yarmouth Port area throughout the house.

They provide sheets, bath towels, and pool and beach necessities -- AND extras (toys, water guns, floats, etc.).

The owners were accommodating, easy to reach and lovely to deal with. Everything was top-notch. We can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this experience. We will be back!!

Gorgeous historic home, close to the beach but no need to leave!

This beautiful, spacious, 200-year-old home is the perfect place for an amazing Cape Cod getaway with your friends and family. I have always wanted to stay in an historic home, but, with 6 kids, I hadn't found the right place. Well, I found it!

The owners have done an excellent job at preserving the incredible details of the original home, as well as providing every comfort and amenity you could want in a vacation home.

The adults spent hours exploring the grounds and enjoying the amazing variety of flowers and trees. The kids (ages 7 to 15) loved the pool, the basketball court, the horseshoes, and walking to the park across the street. The parents loved that we got to relax in a stunning home that was kid friendly!

Here is what we loved the most about our stay:
    • The bedrooms are beautiful, and the beds are incredibly comfortable
    • The kitchen is stocked with the basics and has every kitchen gadget you could need
    • The flowers, especially the various colors of hydrangea, are stunning
    • The pool house is a great place for the kids to use during the day and the adults to enjoy at night
    • The amazing view from the master bedroom
    • The old pictures of the original house and the antique furniture
    • It is conveniently located near many Cape attractions (though I didn't feel the need to leave the house!)

There's something special that happens when you take the people you love away with you and you are able to really relax together. We were able to relax and enjoy every moment because Jackie thought of absolutely everything.

The house was spotless when we arrived and we had everything we needed for the first night, including a welcome basket and coffee for the morning. We loved it so much that we already booked a week for next summer. We cannot wait to go back!

    Hi Vicki,

Thank you so much for your positive feedback! We are thrilled you and your family enjoyed your week! We worked hard to prepare the house for visitors, and it is heartwarming to read what you loved most about your stay. I plan to dig deeper into the history of the house and hope to have more fun tidbits about its past when you visit next summer. As parents to two young children ourselves, it's wonderful to hear how much kids "of all ages" loved the house. We are so excited for you to come back in 2022 to make more memories. Thank you again for such a complete and wonderful review!

Hello! We're Jackie and Mike, proud owners of The Parsonage. We began taking summer vacations to Cape Cod soon after we were married and have made many lasting memories exploring its beautiful towns, beaches, and hidden gems. We quickly fell in love with this unique and beautiful place and found ourselves wanting to go back throughout the year. When our daughters were born, we decided to make a week at the Cape an annual summer getaway and often invited our extended family to join us. Many of our favorite family memories have taken place on Cape Cod, and before long we decided we wanted to buy a home here one day. In 2020, we made the exciting decision to purchase The Parsonage and own our very own piece of Cape Cod. We are excited to make this house our home and share its beauty and history with family, friends, and guests. We recognize how special Cape Cod is, and we feel fortunate to be able to provide a place for many visitors to stay so they can explore Cape Cod time and time again.

What is special about this property?
The Parsonage is a historic home and is a noted landmark on the historic ''Captains' Mile.'' It was built in 1823 and is listed on The National Register of Historic Places. The house is located right on Main Street in Yarmouth Port and is close to Gray's Beach and its famous boardwalk (see picture), Dennis Pond, multiple walking trails, a playground, and wonderful shops and restaurants. The house itself is large enough to accommodate multiple families yet maintains both charm and coziness. While the interior provides multiple television and game rooms, many guests will spend a majority of time outdoors in the salt-water pool, on deck jacuzzi, or large yard area. We try our best to provide plenty of games, pool and beach necessities, and at-home activities to make your stay a fun, relaxing, and hassle free one.

What is special about your town?
Yarmouth Port, a district of Yarmouth, is home to an array of historic houses, antique stores, and coastal gems with access to the warm waters of Cape Cod Bay and local wildlife. Located in Central Cape Cod, Yarmouth Port is a great place to anchor oneself after exploring the gorgeous beaches and vastness of the outer Cape, hustle and bustle of the mid-Cape, or the charm and wonder of the towns in the Upper Cape.

The Parsonage is a mere 21 minutes from the Sagamore Bridge, yet it feels a thousand miles away from the rest of the world.
