This is a lovely four bedroom Cape on a cul de sec, bordered by conservation woodlands. It’s a few steps through the woods to a well-preserved coastal plains pond which is itself bordered by town-owned woodlands. It’s a very private retreat with views of woods and water, the pond being visible in all but midsummer, when the undergrowth blocks it from the first, but not the second, level.

The open floor plan has a well-equipped kitchen with new appliances, cozy living areas, large windows, and many amenities. It has one bedroom downstairs with king-size bed with memory foam mattress. It accommodates a small wheelchair. (There is a 30” opening to en-suite bath.). This downstairs full bathroom may be shared by the house or closed off. The two bedrooms upstairs share a bathroom located between them. The larger bedroom has a king bed with memory foam mattress, and panoramic views of the lake from back and side windows. The smaller bedroom has a queen bed and views the woods from one window and the lake from the other.

Downstairs, the cathedral-ceilinged entry leads to the scenic back of the house where open-space living areas give onto a shady deck, the woods, and the path to the lake. In this space are the kitchen, dining area and living room. Off the living room, there’s a small TV room . The living room has a second TV.

Bath towels and sheets are provided. Please bring your own beach towels. This rental is for a maximum of 6 people. If you would like to request to have more than 6 people during your stay you can do so only with permission from the host. There may be an additional fee associated with any guests over 6.

You have the whole house with decks front and back. There are 4 rooms with beds.

The pond is swimmable with a shallow end, which makes for perfect recreation for supervised children. Access to the water is through a short downhill path from the back of the house. There are two kayaks but you'll need to bring children’s’ life jackets. Adult life jackets are available.

Recreational opportunities abound! There are miles of marked walking trails that weave through the woods across the lake, and are accessible on foot. For biking, the famous Cape Cod Rail Trail could not be closer—2 blocks away! All saltwater beaches are a short drive by back roads. No one need struggle through traffic. Closer yet is Yarmouth’s main sports/recreation area, Sandy Pond Recreation area, less than a mile from the house on Buck Island Road. read more show less
