The adage "A picture is worth a thousand words" is as true as ever in the case of creating interest. We know because vacationers tell us so!

Your pictures are the vacationers' first impression of your home. Put yourself in the shoes of the vacationer: If you found two similar homes and one had only a few, low-quality pictures, and the other had many attractive pictures, including exterior, living room, dining room, kitchen, bedrooms, deck, yard, and the nearest beach, which one would you be more likely to inquire about?

First Picture

Your first picture is the most critical picture on your listing and not just because it is the first picture a visitor will see. The first picture will be seen throughout the website and thru other digitial marketing channels. The first picture will be displayed in:

  • Search Results list
  • Google Map pin preview window
  • Facebook and Google Retargeting
  • Email Marketing
  • Content Marketing
  • Social Media shares of your listing
Important: The first image must be over 600px on at least one side in order to be included in Facebook and Google re-targeting and WeNeedaVacation's personalized email marketing campaigns.

Picture Size

Photos that are deemed "small" on WeNeedaVacation are pictures that are under 600px on both sides. This generally indicates that the image is out-of-date in addition to being lower quality.

Listings with a large first photo received 12% more inquiries and 13% more property views than listings with small photos since September 1, 2018 thru March 1, 2019.
As of November 1, 2019, "small" photos will not be displayed on property listings. Your picture central will have an indicator of any small photos on your listing.
