Enter to a stunning ocean view out of the dining room picture windows. The entry and dining room boast a seashell framed mirror and chandelier. The main floor consists of the foyer, large kitchen and dining area, living room, the primary and secondary bedrooms, and one full and one half bath. Primary has large office/dressing area with tons of light. Lower (ground floor) level lives like a private suite with a separate entrance, full bath and twin beds that can convert to a king. Perfect for the kids, in-laws or nanny. A third level loft has more great views of the water below and is the perfect spot - other than the balcony - to sit and read.

A short 4 mile drive puts you in quaint Menemsha Harbor, where you can grab lunch right off the dock and an ice cream cone, or get fresh seafood from the fish markets to cook on our outdoor grill.

You'll find this three-level home on the ocean shores two miles south of downtown Chilmark, to the east of the scenic Nashaquitsa Cliffs. A staircase leads down to the tranquil ocean beach; you'll also be within biking or driving distance of beautiful Squibnocket Beach (half a mile west), Menemsha Beach (three miles north), and Aquinnah Beach and Overlook (five miles west).

    Charming Oceanfront Cottage

    We loved this beautifully appointed home! The tasteful updates honor the original architecture, while providing all of the contemporary comforts one might need. We enjoyed relaxing on the beach just steps from the house, as well as on the porch with views of the ocean as far as the eye could see! You will find absolutely everything you need (beach chairs/umbrella, linens, kitchen items, games, etc.) for a relaxing trip easily accessible and in perfect condition. The floor plan of the house was unique and my children particularly enjoyed the finished attic space overlooking the water for quiet reading. Jody was wonderful to work with, communicating quickly and being incredibly flexible. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend this house! show more show less

    Our labor of love... what a joy it was to take this house and make it a home. Spent many months updating, freshening and furnishing this place to become the quintessential beach cottage. After many years away from the Vineyard, being back these past two years has been a gift. My husband owned the Beach Plum Inn in the 80's-90's and we have been living fulltime in South Florida since 2014. We spend June and a few other weeks in the Fall on the Vineyard. We love this house and rarely leave when we are here.

    What is special about this property?
    Watching the sun come up over the ocean is amazing. Those special moments at dawn with a cup of coffee and birds singing...
    Could sit all day and watch the waves and the water change color. Watch carefully for our seal that goes by several times a day. You may just spot a few deer in the neighborhood, or the snapping turtles that live in the wetlands.


    What is special about your town?
    Lunch at The Galley in Menemsha, a stroll into little Chilmark for a slice of pizza from the Chilmark Store, fresh as can be seafood from Larsen's or Menemsha Fish Market...there is no shortage of great food within minutes.
