We are Charlie (a journalist) and Julie (works for a non-profit) and we have owned this house for almost 30 years. The Vineyard is very special to us. We lived overseas while our 4 (now adult) children were young, and they spent every summer of their childhoods here. They loved biking to the Pond to fish and boat, to South Beach, and to Edgartown for ice cream. Their summer jobs on the island have influenced their lives - they have worked on fishing boats, farms, oyster farms, learned how to build boats and stone walls, ran catering businesses, and wrote for the Gazette. They made life-long friends and had a lot of fun!

What is special about this property?
The house is open and light filled, with triple hung windows in the living room, and two decks - one upstairs, one downstairs. There are wood floors throughout the house, the basement is carpeted. The loft is a cozy place to read or nap. The basement is also a cozy place to watch movies on the big screen on a huge overstuffed couch. The kitchen was recently renovated and all windows replaced.



What is special about your town?
The location is unique - quiet and private, yet close to so much! We are half a mile from shops and restaurants in Edgartown. We are on an ancient path that leads to the town landing of the Edgartown Great Pond - we ran there when we were young, walked our babies there, and now walk our dogs there :) South Beach is a peaceful bike road away, down quiet country roads. The bike path that takes you all over the island is close by. Also nearby Katama General Store and Morninglory Farms.
