This is our year round house so it is fully equipped for living twelve months of the year including almost anything a cook could want. As life long seasonal residents of Edgartown, we chose to live here year round eleven years ago. The sound of the town clock striking the hour still thrills me. Being able to walk all over town and bike to the beach or collect groceries makes summer traffic manageable. We love being able to walk to fine dining, art galleries, shopping or beach picnics.
This is our base for life and travel. We both work remotely and enjoy travel, so we have high speed internet.
We enjoy clamming and scalloping in season and do as much of our fresh produce shopping as possible from local farms. We are fortunate to have such abundance here.

What is special about this property?
Probably the most special thing about this property is the quiet location on a one block street that is only three blocks from Main St and 2.5 blocks from the harbor.
After owning this house for thirty years and renovating the house twice, we now have solar panels, heat pumps for HVAC, battery backup for critical appliances, EV charging, and an induction stove for clean air internally. That said, unless it is really hot or humid, I love having the sea breeze one through the open windows.
I am an active gardener and we have planted a dozen fruit trees on the property. With any luck you will have something to harvest. I also love to grow flowers, herbs and some veggies. We keep 9-10 chickens for eggs, so you can collect eggs. But don't worry: we have chicken keepers who care for them.

What is special about your town?
Edgartown is a long time fishing/whaling port with captains houses lining Water Street two blocks away. Its natural harbor brings in sailors, artists and fisherfolk from all over. The natural beaches are also a strong attraction, whether it is bathing beaches or a little bit of surf. There are several art galleries that feature local artists. In August the Island as a whole offers book festivals, an agricultural fair wth carnival, Illumination night in the gingerbread houses of Oak Bluffs featuring old Chinese lanterns and fireworks.
