I am an architect, designer, builder. My wife Penelope and I maintain our Chappaquiddick home where we spend a number of months each year, usually spring and fall. I designed and built the house in 2008 making every effort to blend it with the environment of the island using, where possible, natural materials and finishes. We personally maintain the structure, property, landscape. When we are not in residence we travel and run our two businesses of Architecture and Fine Art Photography collection consulting.

What is special about this property?
The most wonderful thing about our property is the serenity and privacy. The house is surrounded by an oak woods on one of the highest points on Chappaquiddick Island ensuring a fairly constant summer breeze, no neighbors are in view or earshot in any direction yet we are just a two minute drive plus a five minute ferry ride from downtown Edgartown where there are many shops, restaurants, and much summer urban energy; quite a contrast, really the best of both worlds!

What is special about your town?
Our nearby town, Edgartown, is an old whaling community with architecture and streetscapes dating to the sixteen hundreds. It is an elegant, truly quintessential New England town. Restaurants, boutiques, farmers' markets, excellent in town and country walks abound. We are within a mile of some of the best beaches on the East Coast always uncrowded even in the busiest summer months and then there is the rest of Martha's Vineyard easily accessible to the towns of Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs each unique with too many attractions to begin to list here.
