A rare Oak Bluffs find:
Perched directly on the bluff at the edge of East Chop, this newly renovated, light-filled A-frame cabin is a boutique-like waterfront escape in a truly exceptional location—close enough to soak up everything that draws people to Oak Bluffs each summer - the events, reunions, and activities the town is known for, yet still set apart with unobstructed, ever-changing water views found almost nowhere else on Martha's Vineyard.
Although it is close to the town and the beaches, the cabin is a retreat from the lively bustle and the perfect home base for taking in all the beauty and energy the island has to offer. Due to erosion, the part of the road where the cabin sits is closed to traffice - making it a favorite for morning bike rides, leisurely walks, and evening strolls, with the water stretching endlessly beyond the bluff. In summer, watch the ferries glide across the horizon while a buoy softly rings in the distance. At sunset, walk around the Chop to the lighthouse and watch the sky change over the water.
Inside, the cabin is sophisticated, comfortable and intentionally designed. The main level has an open kitchen, dining and living area, along with a private bedroom with a king bed. Glass sliders open onto the furnished deck, where morning coffee comes with an extraordinary view and evenings invite you to linger over a glass of wine as the moon rises over the water. (Please note: We love animals but the cabin is kept pet-free.)
Upstairs, the airy loft offers another king bed and two twin beds, along with a cozy sitting area overlooking the water. While the cabin can technically sleep up to six across both levels, we cap bookings at four guests — a configuration well suited to two couples traveling together or a small family. The loft stays cool and dark at night, with sliders opening onto a private balcony — an especially lovely spot for reading, morning yoga, or simply watching the boats pass by.
The newly renovated kitchen is equipped for cooking at home, with brand-new appliances and an outdoor gas grill. But with Oak Bluffs less than a mile away, you can just as easily leave the car behind and wander into town for dinner, drinks, music or a walk along the harbor.
The location is exceptional: walk or bike to a beach near the Chop, take a tennis lesson at the East Chop Tennis Club, wander into Oak Bluffs for dinner and drinks. The cabin is walkable and bike-able to the jetty and Inkwell Beach, the gingerbread houses and Cottage City, and of course, the fabulous restaurants and shops around the marina and on Circuit Ave. Back on the Chop, you will feel wonderfully removed from it all.
This is not a typical beach rental. It is a beautifully designed, quiet and cool, waterfront cabin — a place to wake up to the water, spend the day exploring the Vineyard, and come home to your own private view as the sun goes down.
We promise a unique and wonderful experience at The Cabin on the Bluff.
read more show less
