The kitchen is filled with cooking essentials to please the avid chef and even boasts a wine refrigerator so you can enjoy your favorite vintage during your stay. There is an oversized yard and sizable patio, perfect for relaxing or grilling with friends and family.

The house is a short walk to restaurants, the ferry, shops, and grocery stores. Minutes away from a golf course and beaches, the house is unique and great for summer fun.

Also enjoy the kitchen garden which is the impetus for the Martha's Vineyard Garden Competition.

    The Wampanoag Native Americans called Martha's Vineyard Noepe which means ''Land amidst the Sea.'' Martha's Vineyard is the largest island on the southeastern coast of Massachusetts. It is twenty miles long and nine miles wide and contains six towns; Edgartown, Oak Bluffs, West Tisbury, Chilmark Aquinnah and Tisbury. Tisbury includes Vineyard Haven where the house is located.

    The Larrier family, originally from Barbados, came through Ellis Island and settled in New York City. The family, which has a generational relationship vacationing on Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard, included small business owners, importers, exporters, florists, chefs, doctors and lawyers. The family also has a long history of military service starting from the Civil War, continuing through WWII and the present.

    The Larrier House is one of many homes owned by the family. The house and its occupants share a proud past of survival and accomplishments.

    The Larrier House was built in 1870, five years after the Civil War and survived the Great Fire of 1883 which wiped out almost all of downtown Vineyard Haven.

    The Larrier House is now a vacation home and available for you to make your own memories and history.
