Our home is on a quiet dirt road, a short drive to the Town of Vineyard Haven and the north side of the Island. First time rented in 2022, a cherished family home.

Peaceful 2 acre wooded property surrounded by trails, ponds and Vineyard Open Land Foundation property. The house comfortably accommodates up to 10 guests in 5+ bedrooms with 4 full (updated) and one half-bath. Unique, very roomy floorplan with hand-carved and painted woodwork/tile details. Central air purification and de-humidification. 4,200 sq. feet of living space and a 1,200 sq. foot upper deck (+ large lower covered deck) can accommodate large family or small reunion gatherings. Outdoor shower off the Master on the upper deck. Lower deck leads to a second outdoor shower on the other side of the house by driveway.

Master bedroom on main floor. Another large bedroom on main floor has a Restoration Hardware bunk with full-size Purple beds, a twin with trundle and a full bath. Lower level has two bedrooms - one with a king and the other with two twins. Lower level also has a “game room” with shuffleboard and one of three built-in HD Smart TVs. The two bedrooms on the lower level share a large, updated bathroom with a shower and tub. There are two family /gathering rooms on the main level, one big enough for both a larger gathering - and table tennis. The kitchen opens up into the other family room. There is a Peloton bike.

Off the lower, fieldstone deck is a two-bedroom ''guest suite''. One bedroom in the suite has a queen bed, the other has a day/twin bed with an ''elevated'' trundle. They can be used as side-by-side twins (a ''6th bedroom'' if used as such) or sitting area. This detached guest area has its own full bath, smaller fridge and an HD Smart TV.

There is a second outdoor shower and sunny smaller deck off the apartment suite in the back of the home.

Central air with mini-split wall units in ''distant'' rooms and guest apartment. Full sized washer & dryer in utility room, new gas grill on large upper deck.

Sonos sound system throughout most of the home - and outdoors on upper deck - which can be controlled with your phone and your Sonos (and/or Spotify) accounts. An open kitchen has a new double convection oven and all the equipment required to assist the artful chef.

Outside, a path leads to a fieldstone-lined grass field with a bocce court and plenty of room for volleyball, badminton or frisbee.

Full wireless internet access throughout home.

Linens and towels (beach and bath) are provided.

Newer bikes available.

The car (2016 Mazda SUV) can be rented for $100/day. It can be helpful to MV visitors that have difficulty getting a ferry reservation, or that need a second vehicle during their stay. It is used only by us and our guests.

Considerable parking space.

Pets are generally not allowed, unfortunately. Will consider some non-shedding, hypo-allergenic breeds - that stay off furniture ;-) read more show less

    A Special Place

    We loved spending the week at this home and plan to be back next year. It is a sprawling home with plenty of whimsy, character as well as room to spread out. It has large gathering spaces in different areas of the home, both inside and on the huge upper and lower decks. The beds were all super-comfortable - as was the deck furniture (also shaded by umbrellas). A lot of thought went into supplies we'd need, and the home was clean and organized. It's in a great location and also near many of the Island's best trails inside the Lambert's Cove "loop" (check out Duarte Pond!). Highly recommend! show more show less

    The accommodations were superb! No issues at all. We had a fantastic time in MV and that was partly due to that fabulous house of yours — it was all the rave! One of my favorite memories was watching the sunset at Lambert's Cove Beach. It was our first time (can you believe after almost 20 years we're still experiencing firsts?). We're hoping we can rent again for 2024. The supplies you provided made our stay extra enjoyable, Andy. And it was a lifesaver when it came to saving space in our car.     Lovely Vacation Property

    This is a fantastic vacation home. Located in Lambert's Cove and set back from the road you will enjoy the tranquil setting. The house is well appointed and comfortable with everything you need to cook, relax and entertain. The layout provides privacy and opportunities to gather. We absolutely loved that the home is set up for whole families and friends- having indoor rec room and outdoor games as well as separate in-law suite.

    The outdoor space is beautiful with two full decks featuring multiple seating areas and is made even better with the spa. We did happy hours there several nights and breakfast a couple of mornings. It was hard to leave this lovely retreat. The owners were gracious and accommodating and answered the few questions we had quickly. Highly recommend for large families or groups of friends.

    An amazing time!

    We had an amazing time at this beautifully appointed home. Spacious, warm, and inviting is the best way to describe this home in a perfectly idyllic, peaceful setting. With shuffleboard and a ping pong table, our teens were never bored! The house is conveniently located near shops and restaurants in Vineyard Haven with close in trips to OB and Edgartown. Thank you Andy for being such a responsive, caring gracious host.

    Fabulous Vacation

    This house has all you need for a wonderful week of vacation! Our family loved the TWO outdoor showers and the shuffleboard table. House was clean, very private and in a great location. Our older kids loved the privacy of the guest house. Owner, Andy, was easy to rent from and very helpful. Definitely recommend this house to others!

    Perfect Vacation Spot

    This is a large , beautiful space , suitable for a large family of all ages. Tranquil setting with all kinds of amusements in house & out. Really nicely appointed. Modern TV, great family room, super decks, outdoor bocce court, plenty on room to spread out, we hated to leave. Andy is an extremely reasonable guy, a real gentleman.

    We live in Virginia and Martha's Vineyard, spending time at our home as often as possible during the ''off-season''. Our extended family is in the Adirondacks during the summer months, so our home in Vineyard Haven is available. Maureen (wife) has not yet retired. We bought the home at 79 David shortly after Covid arrived and she was able to work from our ''remote'' home (79 David). We have four adult children, are hoping for grandchildren, and wanted to be in a home that could accommodate a large extended family. We love the private ''guest'' space, as well as indoor activities when weather kept us off the beach and trails of the Island.

    What is special about this property?
    79 David has character! The property offers an abundance of space to entertain and relax with friends and loved ones. Unique details abound. Margot Datz (renowned on Island) has painted delightful details throughout the house. A rambling and unusual floor plan, each unique room leads to yet another interesting and warm space. If you spend time in the kitchen, you will love this inspired room with its new double convection oven and every other amenity. In addition to the bedrooms in the main part of the home, there is a private guest wing on the lower level. A fieldstone lined path leads to a lower meadow area with a recently installed bocce court and sitting area.

    What is special about your town?
    Vineyard Haven is more relaxed and less crowded than Edgartown. It has great shops, restaurants, and a relaxed vibe.
