The Ocean is Your Front Yard; Walk to Town

Jeffrey's house was spectacular! The pictures don't really do it justice. It's right on the beach, and a short walk to the public dock and downtown VH. We were able to rent a mooring for out boat right in front of the house, which made it all the better. The common areas are beautiful and HUGE. The bedrooms are small, but clean and comfortable. The beach is great, nice steep dropoff for swimming, and swim raft a little further out. The beach is good, but others (like South Beach) are well worth the short drive. Bringing a car on the ferry was the right call for us - the cost of the round trip ferry was only a little more than the price of parking in WH for the week. Taxis are very hit and miss, especially during busy times. Jeffrey wasn't in town when we visited, but his cousins Bess and Elisa are nearby and couldn 't have been nicer or more hospitable. They both made sure we had everything we needed and added some very nice personal touches. Jeffrey was a super host, and was extremely responsive and helpful during our multiple conversations prior to the booking. So having travelled much of the world - I just cannot explain how great a vacation we had at Jeffrey's house. This is without a doubt one of the most relaxing vacations we have ever had (maybe the most relaxing) - the house is right on the beach in vineyard haven. With a swimming platform. The water was warm and still for any level of swimmer. It is a very short walk into town of Vineyard Haven for groceries and restaurants. It is spectacular. This was our first trip to Marthas Vineyard - and wow! For those who have not been it is a very special place. No wonder it is so talked about. Now as for the house owner / host Jeffrey. He is amongst the best Hosts I have had. Kind, helpful, available, responsive, accommodating - just a great person. You almost feel like you know him personally. I would recommend his place and a stay here to anyone. You will not be disappointed and will have one of the most relaxing vacations you have ever had. We spent a wonderful week in Jeffrey's family home. What a beautiful location and convenient spot to go anywhere. Walking distance to town, and we brought a boat and moored it out front. His family nearby were friendly and helpful. The house is true to the pictures although the view and nature (including local wildlife) surpassed our expectations!
