The house is owned by Margaret and Michael Wheeler. We have been vacationing on Nantucket since 1978 and have been hooked on its charm, beauty and history ever since. Once we could see ''light at the end of the tunnel'' so to speak with college tuitions for your children, we decided to buy a home on the island to enable our family to continually enjoy the Nantucket experience over the years and as well as share that experience with our tenants. Throughout our years of ownership, we have continually upgraded the house with various amenities to provide a most comfortable and enjoyable stay at our home.

What is special about this property?
What makes our house so special is its location in the heart of town and its unique style and architecture. Being located right in town can provide such easy access to numerous dining and shopping activities, things for the kids to do or just a nice relaxing stroll into town in the morning to get your coffee and paper (if one still reads them). And there is a wonderful grocery store just a few minutes walk where you can get all those things you forgot to bring with you. On a rainy or cool day when the beach is not preferred, being in town presents a multitude of things for the family to do.

The house is a gambrel style home with four bedrooms and accommodations for eight. Built in the early 1900's, it has many unique features such as a second floor mini-deck, entrances on both sides of the house for easy access and much more. It has been renovated several times over the years and is very bright and airy throughout. The house is also fully air conditioned with several ceiling fans to ensure your comfort on even the warmest of days. It is also great for families with children as the layout has a good flow and feel and offers a Nantucket charm without a lot of fragile antiques.

Nantucket offers a rare blend of history and charm. You can step back into history walking the cobble stone streets surrounded by former Nantucket whaling captain homes and mansions. The town offers a wide variety of activities including superb dining and shopping, the historic whaling museum telling the story of Nantucket's proud history, a movie and stage theater with top run movies and island stage productions, boating, biking on the many bike paths around the island, and of course, golf, tennis, fishing and the unparalleled beaches.

With our home being right in town, you'll be just minutes away from this exciting array of things to do and in the midst of Nantucket's proud history. At the end of your vacation, you'll wonder where all the time went!!
