Description

This breathtaking, hidden gem with magnificent landscaping will add a touch of serenity to your Nantucket get-away. Nestled only 1.5 miles from the ferry docks and half-a-mile from Nantucket Town's Historic District, it is a perfect location for easy access to the Island's restaurants, shops, and beaches, yet also provides complete privacy.
This captivating compound is accessible through a privacy gate which opens to a stunning view of the entire expanse of the property. To the left lies the one-acre, ten feet deep pond with an on-shore dory for easy enjoyment. A stone path leads first to the cottage on the right and then to the main house situated towards the rear of the property. Many mature trees grace the lawn with alluring sitting areas placed throughout.

A shaded brick patio adorns the kitchen entrance of the main house. The functional kitchen features granite countertops and custom cabinets; it is ready for use if you are not dining at one of Nantucket's many fine restaurants. The kitchen opens onto the dining and sitting area, complete with an extraordinary view of the pond. Off the kitchen is a bathroom with a walk-in tile shower, a bedroom with a king-size bed, and a den with comfortable seating. French doors in the den lead to a stone patio enhanced with a pergola, gas grill, and seating. The upstairs features two large bedrooms, one with a king bed, the other with two twins which can be converted to a king, plus a full sleeper sofa, and armoires. The bathroom has a tile tub surround. The finished basement includes the washer and dryer, a queen sleeper sofa, 40' flat screen, and is well stocked with board games and puzzles. There is an outdoor shower attached to the main house.

The main room in the quintessential country cottage has an open kitchen design with a sitting room adorned with a stunning fieldstone wood-burning fireplace. The kitchen features a modern retro stove and refrigerator with custom cabinetry. Off the kitchen is a stone patio. The first floor also has a bedroom with a queen-size bed and a bathroom with a walk-in shower. The second floor contains the charming master suite with a king-size bed, walk-in closet, and an expansive en suite bathroom with a claw-foot tub and walk-in shower. The laundry facilities are in the basement.
The cottage is finely appointed with textured plaster walls, exposed hand-hewn beams, handmade curtains, high-end plumbing fixtures, and reclaimed chestnut flooring.

Both houses feature original paintings, many by local artists.

A small outbuilding with French door access houses an onsite office, complete with hardwired Internet connectivity.

    A dream!
This place was divine. There were five total families with our group (one single, two couples, and two families of four [with children ranging from 1 to 10 years old]), and each unit stayed in their own bedroom - we never ended up using the queen pullout couch in the basement. We loved every bit of the entire experience! We'd sit in the Adirondack chairs overlooking the pond in the afternoons; I'd read to my kids on the patio in the mornings amid the hydrangeas; we'd dine as a whole group under the pergola in the evenings; and we'd watch our kids run around the grounds, row in the dory attempting to catch turtles, and climb trees throughout the day. It was a haven to return to after biking to town or spending the day at the beach. A mama duck and her ducklings visited us frequently each day, and a doe and two fawns meandered across the lawn a couple of times, too. My husband really appreciated the little standalone office each morning to get his work done - very Thoreau-esque. Our week here was such a needed escape and we would love to return every year if we could! So magical, and the photos don't do it justice. Thank you, Pam and Eric, for being so accommodating, responsive, and wonderful!

We visited Eric's property with a large group of friends for a long weekend. Eric was an amazing host and the property was gorgeous! It seemed like everything we needed was a short drive away, but we also enjoyed just spending time enjoying the beautiful yard and pond views. It felt like our own private estate! We hope to stay here again in the future!

It's difficult finding accommodations that work for a big family (ages ranging from 1 1/2 to 84 years) but this property delivered! It's close to town but so beautifully landscaped that when you are there, you feel a million miles away. We enjoyed sight seeing during the day and spending evenings together in the home chatting in the Adirondack chairs by the pond, working on puzzles, and exploring the grounds. There are plenty of bedrooms so everyone can stretch out and have time to themselves but there is also ample family room space for evening entertainment and dining (the bathroom in the guest cottage is gigantic!) We had a fantastic time and would book this house again without hesitation. The pictures we took on the property are so beautiful that they alone are worth the price of booking. Thank you so much for opening your home to us. We will treasure the fond memories we have of our trip. show more show less

Our family of 13 returned to Nantucket to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We could not have picked a better spot. The word we kept hearing from all of our family was "magical", and we never heard so many thank yous for taking them there. The setting, the accommodations, the location - it was perfect! The grandkids loved running around the property, rowing in the dory, watching the bunnies and the ducks, sitting in the trees. They even played bocce balls. The two "cottages" were beautifully appointed - lovely linens, upscale kitchens, extremely well equipped, wonderful views from all the windows and extremely clean. Being a gardener myself, I took great pleasure at enjoying the well kept grounds and beautiful flowers. Sipping wine, outside, looking out at the pond was breathtaking.

There were 4 families and we each had our own bathroom - which was a must for us. Our family is obsessed with fitness, so we rented and rode bikes everywhere. My daughter even held fitness "class" outdoors every morning The beaches or town - none are more than a few miles away. It was fun to be without a car for a week, although we called Uber and taxis on a few occasions. Eric and Pam were so gracious and assisted us with whatever we needed, which wasn't much.

I am so happy we chose MeadowView Pond for our celebration. I would recommend it to anyone having a family reunion or wanting to get away from it all, yet still enjoy the easy accessability to town and the beautiful beaches.

Members of the wedding party and family enjoyed a perfect spring afternoon putting finishing touches on tables in the wedding tent, chatting on lounge chairs warmed by dappled sun, dressing for the event in two perfectly appointed cottages, greeting guests and awaiting the brides walk down a flowering tree lined path toward her groom waiting by the pond. We dined, celebrated and danced on three acres of beauty and a pond. What a thrill to attend such a wedding.

Once before my husband and I enjoyed a romantic get away on this estate in the small cottage with a giant fireplace and king size bedroom suite. Meadow View Pond estate is a perfect Nantucket get away or destination wedding. show more show less

This is truly a gorgeous property with two impeccably decorated homes in a picturesque setting. The property itself is beautifully landscaped and incredibly well maintained. A few of us actually walked the whole of the property and it struck us that everything was just as it should be... all of the flowers in bloom, not a cobweb in sight, not one dead plant. The homes were also beautiful, both beautifully decorated with some antique pieces and all of the modern conveniences. Even the bed in the cottage (where I slept) was more comfortable than my own! To be honest, I'm not sure the photos do this property justice.

The property is about 1.5 miles from town, and a very short distance from Cisco Brewery, a favorite. We biked most places during the day and took cabs in the evening since it is hard to see on many of the dirt roads on the island.

The owners were incredibly helpful throughout the process, from answering questions prior to our rental, to taking delivery of a couple of items that were sent ahead of our group's arrival, to responding to questions that we had via text even late at night. They even greeted us when we arrived with an incredible homemade chocolate cake!

Would I recommend this property to a friend or relative? YES! I am actually considering returning to the island with my family (the first trip was a group of friends)... if we do go, this is where we will stay.

As we entered the private gate from the cobbled driveway, we were not prepared for how beautiful and comfortable our cottage would be. My husband and I stayed in the small 2BR cottage. It was truly lovely, with every detail perfect. The setting is like a secluded secret garden with a little pond complete with rowboat. Inside the cottage, there were luxury bed linens and plush towels, comfortable beds, a walk in closet, an extra large bath with a soaking tub and large stone shower. It is all beautifully decorated in contemporary french country style with stucco walls, wide plank wood floors, gorgeous curtains and nice furniture. The kitchen is a gem, perfect for sitting and having wine and cheese or cozy breakfasts and able to accommodate cooking any meal.

And we headed out for sightseeing as well. We rode into town to shop at the great boutiques, went to the beach, saw the amazing Tiffany stained glass windows at St Paul's church, went to the local historic theater, found the whaling museum, and had time to enjoy several good meals of local seafood and also ate local made ice cream at the famous Juice Bar.

I give this property the highest recommendation! You will love it and it will make your stay on Nantucket memorable and comfortable. With the main house and the cottage together, this would be a great place to have a family reunion, gathering of old friends or two families vacationing together. Alone, the cottage is a perfect romantic getaway. It is honeymoon worthy. Very special.
