About The Chatham Historical Society's 2026 Annual Meeting with keynote speaker and author, Ben Shattuck...The Chatham Historical Society will be hosting its Annual Meeting on Wednesday, August 26. After a brief business meeting discussing the museum's 2026 season, there will be a keynote address by author Ben Shattuck.

Author Ben Shattuck will talk about his past two books — The History of Sound (2024) and Six Walks: In the Footsteps of Henry David Thoreau (2022) — and the role that history plays across genres.

The meeting will also highlight plans for the upcoming year at the Atwood Museum, home of the Chatham Historical Society.
