Takeaways about the Pandemic's Impact on STRs

Elizabeth Weedon | 3/7/2022
Although we haven’t been able to put the pandemic in the rear-view mirror quite yet, it isn’t too early to take a look at some of the lasting impacts the pandemic has made on the Cape and Islands short-term rental industry. WeNeedaVacation owner Joan Talmadge and I sat down together recently and did just that. We have observed some trends and conditions that may have actually started before the outbreak of COVID but have become even more noticeable since. Some include trends in booking and vacationer expectations and some are simple changes in the way homeowners manage their rentals. Watch as we share our observations, based on both our personal experiences in managing our own rental homes and on what we hear from fellow rental homeowners.
About Elizabeth Weedon

About Elizabeth Weedon: I worked for WeNeedaVacation from 2008 until I retired in 2023. I was also one of the first vacation rental owners on the site in early 1998, when I managed my family’s Vineyard rental home. An enthusiastic member of the support staff, I provided fellow Cape and Islands vacation rental owners with advice about online marketing and rental management techniques. I created and edited much of the content on the website, as well as blogs posts and monthly newsletters. I now live on Martha’s Vineyard full time with my family.
