Description

Your private beach is just steps away, and perfect for launching your kayak, paddle board or just a refreshing dip - a good beach for small children.

This large rustic cape sits on a breezy bluff overlooking picturesque Little Pleasant Bay. It has 5 1/2 bedrooms, three bathrooms, a deck and an open floor plan of dining room and living room complete with fireplace. The kitchen has all you need to put together a summer feast, while out back you'll also find a washing machine, dryer and extra refrigerator.

Start the day with breakfast on the deck then rent bikes and tour the Mid-Cape bike trail, or take a quiet walk on your beach and enjoy reading while overlooking the water. Looking for surf? Nearby Nauset Farms can make a picnic lunch, and a short drive will get you to Nauset Beach. The town has plenty of small shops, restaurants, a coffee/candy store, wine shop, a gym and of course fresh seafood for sale. Home made ice cream is only a mile away at Sunday School, and don't worry, the line moves quickly....

Enjoy the outdoor shower at the end of your day, put something on the grill and relax with a glass of wine on the deck, or... venture out to nearby Barley Neck Inn (BNI) and enjoy a burger and live music on the weekends.

A wonderful week

This is a beautiful location and very private sitting out on a bluff overlooking Little Pleasant Bay. My parents enjoyed the Ospreys, Hummingbirds and the Great Blue Herons feeding at the edge of the bay. The house is quite comfortable, the living room and porch off of it were great for reading and enjoying the breezes, the beds were comfortable and everyone in our party slept well. We cooked in the kitchen and grilled.

The shorefront is great for exploring and my one regret is not having a kayak to explore with. This is a great property and very relaxing. We were 3 separate parties and the way the house is laid out we had plenty of privacy but also felt comfortable in the common areas. Location is also ideal being close to Nauset Beach. show more show less

A Perfect Cape Week!

Our family just returned from a week on this property that was perfection. The weather cooperated as we enjoyed the amazing views, cool breezes, and the comfort of this lovingly cared for home. Having rented in this area for over twenty years, I have never been in a more well-stocked house, whether it be the kitchen, bedrooms, or my 3-year old grandson's favorite spot - the hall closet loaded with every kind of activity to pass the hours. Frisbee, golf, badminton, soccer, all played on the expansive property both in front and behind the house! The old Cape feel of this home was a perfect match for our family vacation. show more show less

This is our first experience renting but we have been renters many times. Needless to say, there is a certain amount of anxiety opening up your house to strangers, and trusting that they will respect and appreciate the home that you treasure. That being said, we have always treated the homes of others with great care and hope that this courtesy will be reciprocated in kind.

What is special about this property?
Location and privacy would be two of the greatest assets of this Cape setting. This summer house has been passed down through three generations and has been the site of weddings, memorial gatherings, clam bakes and many family reunions. It is not winterized, and would be best described as rustic and authentically ''Old Cape Cod.''
There are water views from practically every room in the house, as well as access to a beach for water sports, but the paramount asset is the serenity this setting allows.

What is special about your town?
East Orleans has most everything a summer vacationing family might need to stay well fed, entertained and active.

A bike trail runs through the middle of town with several bike rental shops steps away. Paddle board and kayak rentals are also available for those who want to explore nearby salt water ways.

Restaurants are varied and family friendly. The local coffee shop, the Chocolate Sparrow, has a tempting selection of homemade fudge and penny candy, while further up the Mid Cape highway is the Wellfleet Cinema, complete with weekend flea markets.
