We were completely happy with this house. The layout is notable for the master BR on the ground floor, with the other BRs (and a nice sitting room w TV) upstairs.
Kitchen and bathrooms are nicely updated. House is bright and comfortable. Personally I like a screened-in porch, but the house has a nice patio in the back, as well as a fairly new outdoor shower.
My only complaint, which is more about the neighborhood than the house, has to do with pond access. It's great that this house is just minutes from two different access points to Elbow Pond. However, neither point is very "swim-friendly." One access requires walking about a 100 yards down a rather narrow, uneven, path. The other access is shorter, wider and easier to navigate. However, at neither location has the pond been cleared of grasses or lilly pads. It's fine for kayaking, but not if you'd like to take a quick dip....which we would.

This was our second summer staying at Even Keel, third family vacation overall. As in the past, we enjoyed having multiple areas to hang out together, as well as plenty of space for separation when needed. We are a family of 5 with kids ages 3-12, and we made so many memories with grandparents, an aunt and cousin. There is more than enough beach gear to borrow, which makes for much lighter packing. And this home is perfectly located if you're like us and like to visit the busier places of Yarmouth and Dennis, but then leave and enjoy the quiet, less traffic filled roads. The location is perfect for day trips to the outer Cape as well. All our favorite beaches are 10 minutes away (Mayflower, Corporation, Cold Storage, Chapins), and since we also had to make some fun on overcast and stormy days, we enjoyed the house supply of board games and puzzles. Some of our adventures included a seal tour out of Chatham, kids fishing out of Harwichport, mini golf at Pirates Cove and Cape Escape Adventure Golf, delicious food at ACK Gioia and Eat Cake for Breakfast, kayaking on Swan River, Pancake Man breakfast, Whydah Pirate Museum, taste testing ice cream shops, Brewster General Store & Bookstore, shopping in Chatham & Harwich centers, exploring Breakwater Beach at sunset, Paines Creek, and of course, Captain Frosty's for quick, delicious dinners when we were too tired to cook. We had two very relaxing, fun weeks and still somehow didn't get to everything we'd hoped!

The home is equipped with everything you could need for cooking and coffee needs. Even nightlights in every room are provided, which is key when your kids can't sleep without them and you forgot yours. Tammy is a wonderful host, very responsive and understanding. We're already looking forward to next year's stay!

What a wonderful and relaxing week ! We just returned from Even Keel and the house is exactly as described--even better. Clean, roomy, comfortable and well supplied. Elbow Pond is truly around the corner and our "fishermen" in the family loved going there everyday with a kayak to fish and relax. The house is beautifully decorated . We went to several beaches, did the go karts, Brewster Store , Brewster book store---loved it!---and, of course, ice cream. The owners have thought of everything you need--linens, towels, beach toys and chairs, etc. So much less to pack!!! We highly recommend this beautiful Brewster home!!

We just returned from a great week at Even Keel. It was exactly as advertised, and then some. Our group included 3 generations and the layout worked perfectly with spacious bedrooms that accommodated parents separated but connected to their toddler/infant on one side, and together in a large shared room on the other side. We cooked quite a bit, and the kitchen was well-appointed with everything you'd need.

The garage is stock full of all types of entertainment: ping pong, cornhole, beach items & toys. Everything was extremely clean and well maintained. We spent most of our time on a northside beach, but the central location is perfect for daytrips all over the Cape. Best rental we've had.

We loved the Even Keel! The house was very nicely decorated, very clean and spacious enough for our 2 families to be under the same roof but not feel crowded at all. The furniture was very comfortable, including beds. A very nice, large, well equipped kitchen. We also loved the back yard, with the fire pit! The house had everything we needed, and more! It was convenient to stores, restaurants, beaches, bike trails, etc. We would definitely stay here again!

We just returned home from the most relaxing week on the Cape in all of our years, and much of it had to do with this beautiful home. We loved how it was tucked away in a small neighborhood adjacent to Elbow Pond, so we could really relax at night on the back deck or sitting around the fire pit. Even better was how beautiful and well organized the house was. Every possible thing you could need for the week (e.g., linens, nice towels, all kitchen supplies, spices for cooking, cleaning/laundry supplies, paper products) was there for us to use, plus the hosts had tons of games/puzzles for entertainment as well as smart TVs with all the streaming services to log in to.

Another super thoughtful touch was that the hosts provided pretty much everything you would want/need for a day at the beach (chairs, umbrellas, big blankets, cooler, buckets/pails, toys), and even bikes if you wanted to hit the trails.

In all the years we've come to the Cape, we have never stayed at a more beautiful, comfortable, and organized home. Five stars does not do it justice. THANK YOU so much for sharing your home with us - it definitely lived up to its name :)

We enjoyed two amazing family Cape weeks at Even Keel this summer, one in July, and again in August. I can't say enough about this home! The location is perfect - only ten minutes from our favorite beaches (Mayflower & Corporation). Grocery stores are also just minutes away. The Brewster flats & General Store are also a short drive and so fun to investigate. Tammy is a wonderful host as well, providing great recommendations for kayak & paddle board rentals and things to do. We all enjoyed time on Elbow Pond, honing kayak skills and trying paddle boards for the first time. We've been vacationing in the Yarmouth & Dennis area for over ten years and feel this house can't be beat because of its location and family friendly setup. It truly feels like a home away from home. Plenty of space for all the family members to enjoy time together or in their own space. We were there with grandparents and kids ages 2-11. We packed less than we usually do because many kid items were already there and in great condition. We all had the best time and cannot wait to go back!

Our family vacation at Even Keel was wonderful! We were four adults, two teenagers and a nine year old. The second floor family room was ideal for the kids to play video games and watch TV. All the beds and linens were extremely comfortable. It was a plus to have linens and towels included.

The neighborhood is quiet and the house, being surrounded by trees provided a peaceful atmosphere on the deck, patio and in the hammock.:)

The owners were readily available for assistance and suggestions. The Welcome book awaiting us was perfect and very detailed about local attractions.

The house was spotlessly clean when we arrived and the kitchen was well stocked with supplies. Excellent supply of utensils and pans.

We have rented many houses for our family vacations and this was the first rental I've had with so many amenities for us to use! We so appreciated the beach items especially the cart and the umbrellas! Each time I looked in the garage for something I wish I had brought with me, there it was! Everything you might need for summer activities was in the garage.
We had beautiful sunny weather during our July 4th week, always a plus, and enjoyed our stay at Even Keel.

Cannot say enough good things about our stay. The property was prefect for a family—the house well appointed and had every household items one would need. Plenty of sports equipment from bikes, ping pong to water play items and outdoor games. Located in the prefect central spot for any day trips to the various Cape Cod points of interest.

Easy communications with owner who made you feel very welcomed. Exactly like advertised, Highly recommend as a place to stay and can't wait to return next summer.

The house was absolutely amazing. It was more than wonderful with its layout, amenities, brand new appliances, clean and brand new bathrooms, washer and dryer, outdoor shower. large deck and lovely hammocks. Every aspect was a pleasure in terms of the house. The kitchen was beautiful and the large rooms and closets and TV nook were terrific. There was a pond at the end of the road, with several other ponds within a 5 minute drive. Thank you for an amazing and memorable vacation experience.

We had a wonderful stay at Even Keel in Brewster. The house is located on a quiet street next to a bunch of ponds in a wooded area. Our 4 yr old daughter could bike up and down the street without worry of too many cars, but we could also easily drive to nearby beaches and ponds for swimming.

The house was very well appointed - everything was easily at hand. All the bedrooms are well sized, and our family had a wonderful stay. The ping pong table was a really nice bonus too!

My family stayed at Even Keel for a week and it was really great. The house is beautiful and has everything you need. The kitchen has everything you need and great space for cooking at home, which we did a few times. The beds were comfortable as were the living areas. We didn't need to pack towels, beach chairs or beach "toys" which was really helpful when packing for a week away with a family of five. When not swimming in the pond or at the beach the kids enjoyed ping pong, corn hole and some other outdoor games at the house. The beaches in Brewster were also great. The tide pools made the beach a relaxing and peaceful experience. The house is close to many cool beaches and restaurants. I would definitely recommend this house and would definitely return !
