Description

Description

This private, spacious, and well-maintained 3-bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home in Brewster is perfect for a vacation down the Cape with friends and family of all ages. During your stay you’ll have plenty of space to spread out and relax.

Upon arrival, a good balance of modern amenities and Cape charm creates a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for you to settle into.

You enter the house on the first floor which features an open concept living room, dining room, and fully stocked kitchen. The den is a great place to escape to take a nap or read a book, and the light-filled sunroom overlooking the trees is the perfect place to start the day with a cup of coffee or tea. The first floor also includes two bathrooms - a full bath with a walk-in shower, and a half bath with a washer and dryer.

On the second floor there is a full bathroom (shower and tub) and three tastefully decorated bedrooms with ample closet space. The primary bedroom has a queen bed and a futon-style couch that folds down into a double bed. The second bedroom has a queen bed, and the third has twin bunk beds. All bedrooms and common areas of the house have wall mounted mini-split units for on-demand air conditioning (A/C).

The home also boasts access to beautiful outdoor spaces where you can enjoy a nice cocktail in the evening on the patio in the front garden, enjoy the large back yard perfect for lawn games or lounging, or hang out on the flagstone patio out back with outdoor seating, cook on the gas grill, and enjoy the enclosed outdoor shower.

As former summer renters ourselves for many years, we’ve tried to anticipate your every need! Guests can expect sharp knives and all the supplies you need in the kitchen, a bar cart with cocktail making supplies, a large collection of games (including a premium foosball and non-premium air-hockey table), puzzles and books you'd want to read, beach gear (toys, chairs, umbrella, boogie boards), and if you are traveling with a baby or a toddler, a pack-n-play, monitor, high-chair, and baby gates are waiting for you. You can log in to your favorite streaming channels on TVs in the living room, den, and bedroom (cable TV also available in the LR).

The lower Cape location of this home provides quick access to freshwater ponds, bayside beaches, historic Route 6A, and shops and restaurants in Brewster or Orleans. It’s also a great jumping-off point to explore the wonders of the towns on the Outer Cape in Eastham, Wellfleet (drive-in movie theater anyone?), Truro, and Provincetown, and it’s only a 15-20 minute drive to the National Seashore. An entrance to Nickerson State Park is around the corner where you can explore hundreds of biking, hiking, and walking trails or swim in one of the pristine kettle ponds. Less than a ½ mile down the road is the Cape Cod Rail Trail where you can bike, run, or stroll for 27 miles. You have easy access to bayside beaches including Linnell Landing (1.2 miles) and Crosby (1.5 miles), and you are only a short walk or drive to many classic lunch, dinner, and ice-cream options. For those of you with water vessels, the home has a large, multi-car driveway including a ramp area to park your boat a bit out of the way.

Please note: The cleaning fee includes fresh, owner-provided sheets for all beds + towels (personal and beach), hand towels, bath mats, and face cloths. We are strict on the “no pets” policy because of family allergies.

We bought this house with Kyle's mother, Donna, in January 2018 and have been renting for seven years. She grew up in Worcester, MA and some of her fondest childhood memories were spent on the Cape. Her Auntie loved fishing and visited regularly. Sometime around 1955 she purchased an old fishing shack in South Dennis across from fields where Portuguese fishermen dried their nets. For many years, Donna's parents would pack up the family (8 kids!) each summer weekend to help turn Auntie's 'shack' into a home.

When Kyle was born, Donna introduced another generation to the Cape even though she then worked and lived at the Jersey Shore. Donna brought Kyle at least twice per year in the Summer and the Fall. When Auntie passed away in 2004, it seemed that the Cape would never be the same for Donna. She hadn't returned in over a decade, and probably never would have, until Kristin and Kyle moved to Boston.

By that time, Kyle had introduced Kristin to ''that old Cape magic'' and she was hooked, as were our two school-age kids, Rowan and Hazel (now teenagers). What began as a way for Donna to share and extend her memories of Cape Cod with Kyle grew into our entire family developing their own identities and relationships with Cape Cod. We are fortunate to now have a family home that our own kids can know in the way Kyle and Donna always had a ''home'' on the Cape at Auntie's house.

We are so glad you are considering our home for your holiday.

What is special about this property?
We love the chance to retreat to the house in Brewster at all times of the year. Warm and welcoming, the house is updated and modern with tasteful artwork, décor and stylings. There is plenty of room to spread out, with space for your entire party to rest, relax, and chill. There are two separate rooms on the first floor with TVs (the den and living room), the open concept living room-dining room-kitchen is great for causal conversation while prepping for dinner, and the light-filled sun porch has furniture for lounging and a table and chairs for a quiet meal. The property's location is one of its greatest assets, nestled in a wonderfully quiet neighborhood with the ability to walk, bike, or only take a short drive to any number of outdoor activities, including freshwater ponds and bay-side beaches. The property has lots of secluded outdoor space surrounded by garden and trees, including a front brick patio right off the living room (perfect for a cup of coffee in the morning) and a large back yard and flagstone patio just off the back deck outside the sun porch. The stargazing on a clear night is really something and the fully enclosed, two-chambered outdoor shower is one of our favorite things after a long day in the sun. We hope you find as much joy in your time retreating here here as we do.

What is special about your town?
We love Brewster because it has it all. From the time our son was a baby, we spent at least a week or two down the Cape in the summer, and sometimes for long weekends in the Fall or Spring, exploring Dennis, Yarmouth, Orleans, and Brewster. Of all the towns we stayed in, Brewster always felt just right. We could never quite get over the endless flats where our kids walked and played from tide to tide; the rail trail where they rode their bikes to mini-golf and stopped for ice cream; and Nickerson Park where we hiked and boated. These days we pack a lunch and drive or bike to one of Brewster's many bay-side beaches and often end the day at one of the kettle ponds for a fresh water dip.

We love Brewster's quiet and small-town charm—it can feel both upscale and very down to earth. Whether you are looking for roadside fish shacks or fancy seafood dinners, Brewster delivers. You can explore art galleries, antique shops, and church basement thrift stores along the strip of 6A. You can grab a cup of pour over drip coffee at Snowy Owl or roll up for a cold one and some live music at the Woodshed. The Brewster Ladies' Library and the Brewster Bookstore rival any big city browsing. Mini-golf? Check. Eat Cake for Breakfast? Yes. Shuck your own oysters? Brewster Fish Market has what you need, and more. And it's so easy to access the many towns and unique attractions across the mid-, lower-, and outer-Cape.
