Description

Welcome to Anchor! Located on Silver Leaf, one of the prettiest streets in the historic Old Village. A couple of minutes walk from Chatham Light and Lighthouse beach and an 8-10 minute walk to Main Street for strolling, shopping or dining. This 2900 square foot updated custom gambrel cape sleeps 8 in four bedrooms plus two in the bonus gallery room. The house features two zone central air conditioning and heat, three second floor decks, some with water views, and a large yard for the kids. It's the perfect vacation home for extended families, two families, or a reunion getaway. Set back from the street and sited on three quarters of an acre above the Black Pond conservation area, Anchor is a gem.

SOME OF OUR GUESTS HAVE BEEN MAKING MEMORIES HERE FOR OVER 10 YEARS AND LOVE THIS HOME!

Your vacation begins as you enter from the driveway into an open family room overlooking the private yard. Casual seating plan features a large smart TV, a comfy upholstered couch and two chairs and café table with four chairs. Head out through the sliding glass doors to watch the kids running around in the “bowl” shared with our adjoining property. By the driveway entrance there is an enclosed outdoor shower for a quick rinse.

Step up to the fully appointed kitchen with under counter beverage fridge and granite counter tops. Family and friends love to sit around the island during meal prep. We highly recommend making homemade lobster rolls served from the island—super easy and always a big hit.

Ahead are a full bath and two bright classic Cape Cod twin bedrooms that sleep four. To the right is the door to the unfinished basement with a ping pong table and washer/dryer. Across from the kitchen is the fire placed dining room. The table is antique pine designed by a local craftsman that seats 8- 10. Beyond the open balusters is an elegant light filled sunken living room with mid-century bamboo furniture. This engaging room is a tranquil place to unwind and spend some time with a book or have a quiet conversation.

Head up the stairs to the second floor that has a dedicated central a/c and heat zone. To the right is the cheerful front to back Lighthouse bedroom with a queen bed, a day bed, and a slider to a private deck overlooking Silver Leaf with views of the Chatham Light and Lighthouse beach. You can’t help but smile when you enter this room!

To the left is the gallery featuring works by local artists and a TV with Roku stick, a Bluetooth speaker, and a round table and chairs great for games, puzzles or cards. There are also two twin daybeds. Through the slider is our largest deck with a view to the left of Chatham Light and Lighthouse beach. If you have a lot of folks and happen to have a spot of bad weather, it’s a relief to have this versatile room upstairs to spread out in.

Across from the gallery is a full bath that is shared by the Lighthouse bedroom and the gallery.

Beyond the gallery you enter the privacy of the front to back master suite. Shut the door and unwind in your own calming, private oasis. There is an en suite bath on the right with granite counters, shower and your own Keurig. A king bed, a TV with Roku stick and a private deck overlooking Black Pond make this the perfect spot to start and end your busy days in Chatham. You deserve it!

The house is awesome but you came to experience Chatham. Once you head outside you have two amazing choices:

Off To The Beach!
Take a right on Silver Leaf and bear right across Bridge St. to a public path that runs along the Chatham Beach and Tennis Club—about 2 minutes. It’s a bit quicker and less hectic way to get to the beach, and there are no stairs. You also can take a left at the end of Sliver Leaf and head over to the stairs across from Chatham Light.

Off to Town!
Take a left on Silver Leaf, a left on Water and a quick right on School and it’s about 4/10 of a mile to the east end of Main St.- about an 8–10 minute walk at a normal pace. More likely you’ll take your time while talking to your companions and enjoying a beautiful stroll through the Old Village.

    Wonderful Week at Anchor

Just spend a wonderful week in Chatham at the newly renovated Anchor home. Anchor is a fabulous place to gather with friends and family and create memories - from gathering around the dinning room table and sharing a meal, to playing wiffle ball in the backyard, to lobster dinners outside on the picnic table - we enjoyed every minute.

Anchor is perfectly located minutes from Lighthouse Beach and a short 10 minute walk to the charming downtown Chatham (great shopping, restaurants and ice cream. They even have a quaint little movie theatre where we saw Top Gun). But best of all are the newly renovated bathrooms and interior - there is ample room for everyone to spread out and relax, read, play games, do puzzles and watch movies. It was the perfect place for our family - we will be back! show more show less

    Lovely late summer weekend

My husband and I brought my elderly father to the Cape for a long weekend this past week and we were fortunate to stay at the Anchor home. It was so comfortable and in the perfect location for an easy walk to Lighthouse Beach or downtown Chatham. The house has everything you could need, plenty of living space and a lovely yard. We will be back!

Have been renting for 15 years

This house and its ideal location have kept us coming back year after year. Renovation performed about 7 years ago made the place even better. Perfect for our family and guests. Perfect for quiet family time or hosting cocktails or a lobster bake.

Walk to Lighthouse Beach is only a few hundred yards. Easy walk or bike to Stage Harbor, Oyster Pond, or town.

Great outdoor space for frisbee and other activities. Ping pong table and washer/dryer in basement. Up to date cable and wifi. Grill for cooking up those striped bass.

We love Chatham and this place is the ideal place to stay. We will continue to rent here.

What an amazing and wonderful time with our adult children and one other young couple at the Anchor - our second visit! We travel from San Francisco to Boston to the Cape with anticipation of this beautiful spot. Thanks to Tim for your generosity in sharing and to the wonderful housekeeper Joann. The house always looks so clean and inviting.

What a wonderful magical week we had, our first as a family at Cape Cod's Anchor house in Chatham. The house is beautiful, with so many perfect places to read, relax. talk, even use our electronic devices for recreation. Joann, our house manager and housekeeper (she does it all!) could not have been more welcoming and helpful in getting us acclimated to the house, the town, and all else. We never had a bad meal out, and saw Provincetown, Wellfleet, Hyannisport, and all of Chatham - from Harding Beach to the Chatham Bars Inn - to the fabulous lighthouse! We built memories here and we fell in love with this part of Massachusetts - easy to do! Thank you Jan, Tim, and Joann for our memorable stay. With much gratitude., always. show more show less

In our 5th return to Anchor with our family we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary! Weather was beautiful all but tow of our ten days. We enjoyed our favorite beaches and for the first time experienced the Beachcomber seal tour! Our young grandsons love this property. We played wiffle ball, badminton, kids horseshoes, bubbles, the swings, and fling boomerangs! Our 6 year old grandson is learning tennis from his grandma using the high school tennis courts while our 3 year old loves the playground across from the train museum. The kitchen works with well with several cooks and we ate well. Thank you for a memorable stay!
