This family friendly beach vacation home is decorated in a warm, inviting, nautical, Cape Cod cottage style with charming antique accents throughout. The floors are hardwood with area rugs from Clair Murray collections reflecting the scenes so prevalent in a seaside setting. In keeping with the theme, walls are bright and decorated with framed photos of local picturesque fair typical of Cape Cod.

From the deck, there are some water views of Taylor Pond with a town boat ramp giving water access to Nantucket Sound and beyond. Great for launching a new water activity or to revisit an old one. A paddle board,kayak,canoe or small craft are good choices for this environment.

The large master bedroom, with a wide screen TV, has a king bed with ample mirrored closet space. Two additional bedrooms have twin high risers. The well supplied and equipped kitchen area has comfortable bench and chair seating. The living area has a sofa and storage ottomans with a wide screen TV. in a wall unit.The fireplace is flanked on both sides by bookcases supplying a variety of reading material, some playing cards and a few few board games for younger children. Additional seating/ work space is available from a extendable sofa table with bench seating. Block out curtains offer privacy and temperature regulation. There is outside access to a washer and two dryers. Parking is on site and off street. The outside H/C shower is significant enough in size to accommodate beach flotation devices,towels, and bathing attire. The house is supplied with an independent power source from a Kohler generator in the event of an interruption of service from our local utility.

The house is located in a very safe area of year around and seasonal homes well suited for a quiet and restful stay and far removed from the bustle of traffic. A short ride into town (both Chatham and Harwichport) provides casual as well as fine dining. Weekly free band concerts in Chatham are always well attended. The Cape Cod Baseball League is a wonderful opportunity to see some of the best college baseball players in the country compete. Times and places of each game are posted in the visitors guide available at the local Chamber of Commerce. Many of the shops in town are specialty and boutique in nature and are the places where that special gift or treasure can be found.

It is truly a special place to spend some time.

Local fishing charters are available as well as harbor tours for seal watching. If desired. there are rental opportunities for water sport gear.

All town beaches are available with the purchase of a parking sticker which can be on a weekly, monthly or seasonal basis.Cockle Cove beach is a 10 minute walk away though a wooded path.

This has been our family’s vacation home for many years and we extend to all our guests a welcome and a pleasant stay. We are available and in the area to assist you should you need any additional help.

    Comfortable & great location

    We've been coming to Chatham for many years, but this was the first time in South Chatham. We usually stay in N. Chatham. Location can't be beat! The house is compact but very clean and comfortable and Nancy has everything very thoughtfully organized. The extra touches such as beach chairs and umbrella are appreciated. The location is a short walk/ride from Cockle Cove Beach which is a nice strolling beach. If you're going in the water there, wear water shoes as there are many good sized crabs! There is a nice trail close to the house which leads down to the private beach. The rail trail is just up the road, which was a priority for us when booking as we love exploring by bike. Wifi was very good, there was a well outfitted kitchen, lots of closet space, beds & living area were comfortable, a/c was good. All in all a lovely week. Thanks Nancy & Joe! show more show less

    Wonderful Homebase for Cape Cod Vacation!

    This lovely little house was perfect for our week at the Cape. Communication with owner was clear and consistent, and home was exactly as advertised.
    Nice short walk to the beach, easy drive to Chatham and other points of interest. Home was immaculately clean, and small kitchen was well equipped. We ate most of our meals at home at had everything we needed.
    Outdoor shower is large, clean and perfect after days at the beach. (Owner has beach chairs and an umbrella - nice to nto have to make room for those into the car when packing!) Also nice to have a washer/dryer onsite to catch up on laundry on a rainy day!
    Highly recommend!

    My family and I recently stayed at Nancy's charming vacation house in Chatham, Cape Cod during the July 4th weekend. The house was located in a quiet neighborhood just a short walk from the beach. It was owned by a kind and welcoming senior couple who went out of their way to make us feel at home.

    The house was clean and cozy. The master bedroom was especially spacious, with a king-size bed. The other bedrooms were also comfortable.

    The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed to cook our own meals. There was also a washer and two dryer in the basement, which was very convenient. The backyard has an outdoor shower.

    We had a wonderful time at this vacation house. We enjoyed exploring the town of Chatham, swimming at the cliff pond, and hiking in the surrounding area. The owners were so kind and helpful, and they made sure that we had everything we needed.

    Pros:

    Clean and cozy. Beautiful decorations.

    Quiet location

    Close to the beach. 10 minute walk to a private beach. A lot of shells.

    Outdoor shower with super high water pressure.

    Spacious master bedroom

    Well-equipped kitchen

    Washer and dryer in the basement

    Cons:
    It would be perfect if this house could add a dish washing machine

    Overall:

    We had a great time at this vacation house, and we would definitely recommend it to others. The owners were very kind and welcoming, the house was clean and cozy, and it was the perfect location for our family. We would definitely stay here again in the future.     show more show less

    Spacious Cottage in Great Location

    Our family has been coming to the Cape and Chatham for 20+ years and this was the first time we stayed at this lovely home. We couldn't be happier with our choice. Super clean with central A/C. Huge master bedroom and 2 other sizable bedrooms (which made our 2 kids happy to have their own rooms for the first time.) Awesome outside shower was a huge hit! Short walk to the beach and just up the street is our favorite ice cream shop. The owner - Nancy was great to deal with and ensured that we were happy with all amenities in the cottage. We will definitely be coming back!

    Great for a classic Chatham vacation!

    Immaculate house, located within a short walk to Cockle Cove beach. Superb outdoor shower (a must-have for our family), Central AC, Comfortable Chatham cottage hit the mark for a two week vacation during the recent heat wave! Highly recommended!

    Relaxing cozy cottage with private beach

    Best vacation on the Cape this was our third year and we decided to rent. I can't say enough about this lovely home it took us in with open arms ,so cozy we just loved it. We plan on returning next summer for two weeks .Our host family was wonderful very friendly and helpful.Short walk to private beach and not far to the Chatham lighthouse can't wait to go. Back

    Fabulous!

    This home away from home was perfect. The size of the master bedroom is luxurious, and the most important part of any Cape Cod stay is the outdoor shower. This one stays hot and has great pressure!

    The home was extremely clean. The proximity to the Beach and Pond made everything even better and the walk through the Woodland Marsh area is magical. We saw bunnies every day. Thank you!

    Wonderful rental in South Chatham

    We had a wonderful 4 week stay in this charming house, located close to Cockle Cove Beach and Mill Pond. It is also a quick, easy drive to town, little shops, an ice cream parlor and a couple of grocery stores. From this location in South Chatham, it is an easy drive to Harwich. The walk to the beach is about 10 minutes with kids in tow, and it's such a lovely beach, especially for those with small children. The home itself is adorable. As a previous reviewer noted, it feels like a family home, not a rental - clean, bright and well-loved. And the owners are amazing! So responsive and helpful. They also took extra care to ensure the home was well cleaned during the COVID crisis. This was an unexpected trip for us, planned as a getaway during the public health emergency, and we're so glad we made the trip to South Chatham.     Wonderful home in a fantastic location, steps from the beach!

    We absolutely loved our stay at this charming seaside home, it feels like someones primary residence not a rental. The home is bright, open and beautifully appointed, plenty of room for my wife and three teenage girls. The master beedroom is huge. The neighborhood is amazing! Its quiet, has beautiful pine trees, an ocean view and a really neat path along a salt marsh that leads to a private beach, less than a 5 minute walk. I paddle boarded from the neighborhood pond to the ocean every day. The pond is 50 yards from the house. The upscale town of Chatham is just a five minute drive. We are renting this home again this summer!

    We are seasoned rental owners on Cape Cod and Sanibel, Florida. Our property in Chatham has been our children's (grown) and grandchildren's for many years of enjoyment. As time will have it everyone gets older and time and experiences will differ.
    So, we are making our family home available to vacationers who wish to experience a more comfy and residential experience.
    As seasoned rental owners, we provide the amenities that we would appreciate as renters ourselves. Additionally, we are not absentee owners and are personally available to assist and advise. We live close by and spend our summers on the Cape and have for many years.


    What is special about this property?
    Our home is a convenient 2 minute ride to a town beach and a few steps to a pond boat launch with access to Nantucket Sound.This is great for small craft, canoes, kayaking and board sailing. A few steps from the house there is a private path to walk to the beach.
    We offer a deck with some pond views and a Weber grill with a direct gas source.
    The outside shower is massive, convenient and a thorough enjoyment for kids and a welcomed benefit for parents!!
    The home is removed from the noise of a densely populated area on a quiet residential street. This is a secure and safe area for all.

    What is special about your town?
    Chatham is the quintessential summer shoppers paradise!!! Shops abound!! Restaurants are top notch offering local and seasonal venues. Everything you need can be found and then some!!! The Chatham A's college baseball team play league games in town.. a treat for all.
    Local and DELICIOUS produce is available at our weekly farmers market. Chatham Fish and Lobster is a fabulous local fish market.. minutes away .. You can order and pick up your steamed lobster!!! They are most helpful and accommodating. We have been using them for many years.
    The Chamber of Commerce in the center of town is a welcomed source of more information and direction.
    We all want our visitors to have a memorable, pleasant and happy vacation. Chatham is a piece of summer you won't forget.
