My husband and I have been visiting Chatham for many years and never even knew this house existed; but we were very happy to find out about it. It was perfect for the two of us and reminded us (in a good way) of his grandparents' house, where we used to stay in Chatham before it was sold. The location is fantastic -- walking distance to just about everything -- but it is very private and quiet despite being right off Main St.

We were a little concerned about not having a stove, but who wants to cook elaborate meals on vacation? We prepared a few easy dinners with the toaster oven and gas grill, and ate out or got take-out on other nights, so it wasn't an issue at all. It was quite warm during our visit, so we appreciated having A/C in the bedroom and living room, but also enjoying sitting out in the beautiful garden when it was a bit cooler. The gardens are really spectacular, and attract a variety of birds, butterflies, and bunnies.

The owners are very friendly and thoughtful hosts, but not at all intrusive, and were easy to approach if we had any questions. We very much enjoyed our stay and hope to be back next year! show more show less

Cozy, comfortable charm defines this lovely cottage in Chatham. I loved beginning my day with morning coffee in the flowering front yard, then having a convenient place to come home to after a swim or bird walk. A perfect place to slow down and appreciate the pleasures of the natural world and Cape Cod village life. Thank you!

This house was perfect for my two week stay. Being located right on Main Street made it perfect for walking to my internship and shopping around in my free time. The living area was also perfect for my time off. It felt like my own little apartment. Ellen was great at helping out with anything I needed and was a great host. I absolutely would stay here again.

We just returned home after a week in Chatham at Ellen and Ed's cottage and I have to say it was one of the best vacations we ever had. First off, the location is perfect. If you asked me to place a pin in a map of the entire Cape of the best vacation spot I would place it directly on this cottage. It is steps away from the best Main St. on the Cape and a short walk to the spectacular Chatham Light Beach or to The Chathams Bars Inn for a frozen Mudslide. The legendary Chatham Squire tavern is about 100 yards away and the fantastic Impudent Oyster restaurant is even closer. I didn't move my car for the first fiver days because everything is within walking distance, including Cape League Baseball games.

The home and property were as advertised, at the end of a long driveway we felt like we were in the middle of the country with access to an outside shower and grill and our own private seating area to relax. The home itself was spacious, clean and very well maintained with an authentic old Cape Cod feel. We loved it!

Ellen and Ed were wonderful hosts; friendly, helpful and funny and not at all intrusive. Just good people. We hope to return again and again. This was exactly what we were looking for when I did our search. show more show less

Just got back from a great stay on the Cape. Returned to Chatham after several years. Ellen and Ed's place is cozy and clean and just as pictured only better. The location is the gem with this spot. It is right off Main Street but secluded and private with no street noise. Walking, biking distance to everything. The gardens and birds are magical! Favorite times of the day were sitting in our outdoor area in the AM for coffee or PM with a glass of wine and a book. The outdoor shower is a must for us and was lovely.

Ellen and Ed are the best hosts being helpful but not intrusive. I cannot recommend this rental enough. Can't wait to get back! show more show less

I just returned from a wonderful week on the Cape. I have been coming here for many years and this cottage has been my favorite hands down. The description of the cottage was exactly as described and so much more. The owners couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. They are wonderful hosts.

We enjoyed our morning coffee outside watching all the birds and the beautiful flowers. We had the convenience of walking to the restaurants and shops on Main St., and a short walk to the Chatham beaches nearby, including Lighthouse Beach and Monomoy Refuge. The outer Cape beaches were a scenic drive away. The Cape Cod bike trail also was nearby. Everything we wanted to do was easily accessible. Our stay at the cottage couldn't have been more quiet and peaceful.

This is a rental that meets every expectation and beyond. I highly recommend it to anyone traveling on their own or with a companion. I hope to stay again next year in this charming cottage!!!

As a native from the Cape now living in a land-locked state, I knew exactly what I was looking for, and this cottage did not disappoint! It is happily situated off Main St. close to shops and restuarants but set back just enough off the busy road to ensure peaceful restful nights, There are too many quaint touches to list, but my favorite was the bird feeder positioned right outside the kitchen window. Watching the shorebirds feast is such a delight!

As a solo female traveler I appreciated that the hosts were nearby. It allowed me to feel secure throughout my stay. They are lovely people dedicated to making sure vactioners have the best possible experience. Morning yoga is a .70 mi walk to lighthouse beach. The bike path to the Rail Trail and collegiate baseball with the Cape League both nearby. Do not miss Monomoy Wildlife Reserve. All this and then return to a lovely space that will feel like home.

We are an Irish couple in our early 70s and we have travelled extensively worldwide. We had a most enjoyable stay in this comfortable and charming home for a week in May, 2022. The home has a nautical theme. While it is on Main Street, it is still very private. We had the use of a dining room/kitchen, sitting-room, bedroom and bathroom. We enjoyed the outside shower. Parking was provided. Our every need had been anticipated by our hosts and so we had everything we required. We were cared for way beyond the call of duty. We were within a short walking distance of great beaches, including that of Chatham Lighthouse.
Chatham is a wonderful vacation spot. It has many great shops and restaurants. We will never forget the lobster and clam chowder. It is very central for visiting the rest of the Cape. You can hop in the car and visit the other Cape sights.
We had a wonderful, relaxed week - the perfect Cape Cod vacation. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cottage, thanks to our hosts. It is a home away from home. We highly recommend it.
