Description

It's all about LOCATION-just steps from deeded access to the Mill Pond where you can launch your Kayak without ever having to put it on your car. This spacious and well appointed home is just off of the LOOP in a sought after private neighborhood. The Marina and Yacht Clubs are a short distance away with Main Street and Oyster Pond nearby. Read the reviews--extended families LOVE this place.
The minute you pass through the door into the fully equipped well appointed Chef's kitchen with its cherry cabinets, Bosch and Electrolux stainless steel appliances, and wet bar you will know-''this is a special family home, not just a traditional rental.''
From the kitchen, you will step down into the 400 plus square foot sun room with its brick floor, gas log fireplace, comfortable wrought iron furniture, a large flat screen TV (equipped with a Roku and Netflix subscription). There is also a table for dining and comfortable wrought iron furniture. This room is a magnet for gathering and overlooks the patio and backyard.

The adjacent large brick patio is perfect for al fresco dining. The three outside tables can be arranged to comfortably accommodate 12. Or you can sip your morning coffee on the lounge chairs and catch up on your emails.

From the sunroom, you will step up into the formal dining room for eating or for card playing or puzzles. From there you enter one of the four large common rooms. This room has a gas log fireplace, large bay window with window seat and plenty of room for many to gather and share memories or for one or two people to sneak away and enjoy some quiet time and read one of the books on hand.

When heading for the three first floor bedrooms and two baths you will pass the cozy den on your left with its queen sleep sofa, pocket doors and flat screen TV. The pocket doors provide privacy if the need arises this room can be used as a quasi sixth bedroom.

There are four more rooms on the first floor.

The first floor Master suite has its own bath, a queen bed, and twin trundle beds. It is adjacent to a very large study with gas fireplace and comfortable leather furniture, flat screen TV, desk and printer for those who have to work. The study overlooks the second patio and the gardens at the rear of the home. This can be a family suite or can be perfect for a couple wishing to have their own private space.

The other two bedrooms on the first floor each have two twin beds and share a bath off of the hallway. There are pictures of all of these rooms with the listing. All five bedrooms plus the den and sunroom have ceiling fans in addition to central air.

You now ascend the bridal staircase to the second floor. At the top of the stairs to your left, you will see the Great Room with its wet bar, distant views of the water and a regular set of stairs leading up to the roof deck. The Great Room has numerous 6 foot long windows overlooking the yard as well as sliders out to a cozy balcony (great place for meditating). It is equipped with a large flat screen TV with a Roku and tables for game playing or dining. Perfect spot for entertaining or hanging out.

At the other end of the floor is the magnificent Red Room with it four poster bed, private sitting area (that is also a full-size sleep sofa) and your own very special black and white bath. The bath has a cast iron soaking tub and a rainforest shower. The room is perfect for the bride to be and her attendants prior to the wedding (many brides to be have stayed here, including my own two daughters.

The second bedroom on this level (the Blue Room) has a queen size and a twin size bed as well as ample closet space.

There is a fourth bath off of the hallway that services the Blue Room as well as general guests.

The easily accessible roof deck has reclining chairs for sunning and three tables that seat twelve. From here there are distant seasonal water views-sometimes as far as the Atlantic. There are also views of the Mill Pond and the drawbridge.

The outside lot is professionally landscaped with a lush green lawn and a wide long expanse at the rear of the house for lawn games or just relaxing.

The closest Beach, Oyster Pond, is just a 10-minute walk away and downtown is a 15-minute walk. There you will find many restaurants and shops. Veterans Field, the home of the Chatham Anglers, is less than a mile away. The entrance to the Cape Cod Rail Trail for biking off of Crowell Road is about a mile away.

For at home entertainment the house comes with a Netflix subscription and two TVs equipped with a Roku

This location is ideal--convenient yet quiet. Pets considered but must be approved.

"Best Chatham Home to Stay and Enjoy"

If you could rate a "Perfect 10", this ideally located Chatham Home is it in every way. For two weeks we greatly appreciated having our four small family units having the ability to spread out, to get together in choice family rooms for game nights, to have large full baths, to view the spectacular scenery from the roof deck, to walk to Chatham Lighthouse and Center; to have beautiful landscaped yard front and back for tossing a ball, badminton or frisbee and to be a few walking minutes from the beach.

In essence, "Perfect" anytime of year!!

Could Not Have Been Better

This beautiful and spacious home is centrally located to all things desirable in Chatham. It's walking distance to downtown shops and restaurants and a very short drive to Lighthouse Beach. Chatham Shores Golf is an equally short drive away and a wonderful little course for nine holes, especially if you have kids playing with you. No tee times, no waits and $20 for nine. A typical day was an early morning stroll to town to get a coffee, then off to the beach, back to the house for a quick rinse off in the outdoor shower, off to the golf course and back to the house for a glass of wine and dinner on the patio, followed by a cigar with my father on the rooftop deck looking at the stars. I have stayed often on the Cape and booked homes that looked great online, but disappointed when I arrived. This house was the opposite. It exceeded the expectations that the online pictures created. There are so many places for family to gather, or to go off on your own for a nap, or to read or to do a jigsaw puzzle. There were ten of us and more than enough room. The house is endless and wonderfully furnished. Every kitchen utensil, plate, pot, dish, bowl and cup that you could need is in the kitchen. Paul, the owner, was friendly, accessible and attentive. A truly memorable week. show more show less

Perfect in Every Way!!

We just stayed at this exquisite home over a long weekend while celebrating our daughter's wedding. The expansive number of rooms allowed for our extended family to sleep comfortably and privately. We set up some areas as "dressing rooms," and we had ample space for hair and make up. The photographer was so impressed with the beautiful grounds, it made for perfect pictures (the homeowner went out of his way to ensure the grounds were meticulously manicured!) As an added bonus there are two patios and a roof deck offering plenty of outdoor seating. Several rooms offer charming water views! The location was perfect, as many of our events took place near down town Chatham. The large driveway is able to accommodate multiple cars easily and efficiently. This home is not only exquisitely decorated but it exudes a feeling of warmth and provided us with a place where we were able to create cherished memories during this special time. We enjoyed our visit so much we hope to return in the future for a family reunion or group vacation! show more show less

Never Disappoints!

This is our 4th stay at this fantastic property in Chatham and it did not disappoint. We are a group of 8 older women who spent a get-away weekend at this wonderful property. Although the weather did not cooperate for outside activities (lots of rain and wind), the house provided us with everything we needed for a great weekend. We cooked in the well appointed kitchen, enjoyed our meals in the roomy dining room, crafted in the sunroom which was bright despite the outside conditions and watched movies in the large, comfy upstairs room. The furniture throughout the house (including beds) is very comfy, the bathrooms are great, and the entire house is immaculate. The chilly conditions forced us to use the heat for the first time and we were all very comfortable. A bonus is the wildlife in the backyard. We saw turkeys, fox and deer.

The owners are wonderful and attentive to any questions or concerns that may come up. We will definitely return! I would highly recommend this property if you are looking for a relaxing stay in Chatham.

Wonderful Property

I just returned from spending 3 days at this wonderful home with 7 of my friends. This is the second time we have rented and it didn't disappoint. The home is immaculate, beautifully decorated and well appointed with anything you need for a comfortable stay. The home is large enough for everyone to spread out if looking for privacy, but the dining room, sunroom, and upstairs room are large enough to accommodate everyone comfortably. Kitchen is well equipped and comfortable to prepare meals. The grounds are pleasant and well maintained, providing privacy from neighbors. There are multiple outside areas to enjoy the fresh air and watch the wildlife and birds. The owners are attentive and accommodating. We absolutely love it. A wonderful place for old and young, families and friends to gather. We will certainly return!! show more show less

Spectacular Chatham Home!

I hosted a reunion for ten college friends at this fabulous home. We are all 65 years young and hadn’t seen each other in a long time. This location was perfect! There was enough room for each of us to have our own beds. There was a large all season porch that we spent many happy hours in. The 4 gorgeous bathrooms worked out so well! The patio and grounds are lovely. This home would be perfect for a family reunion or for 3 or 4 families to share. There are so many lovely rooms that you will never feel that you need more space. In addition, the location is close to so many Cape activities and places to go. We also enjoyed the dining options in the area. We truly had a wonderful long weekend and highly recommend this property! show more show less

We enjoyed visiting this property for an end of summer getaway. The listing photographs give an excellent preview of all of the charm that makes this property a special destination. We especially enjoyed the picturesque backyard with its lovely natural elements that attract beautiful butterflies and birds. Paul was easily accessible throughout our booking process and stay at the home.

Anxious to return next year

What a special place. Walk to the beach, walk to town, walk to the park. Perfect location. Tons of room, updated bathrooms, lots of kitchen supplies, beautiful yard, great roof deck with partial water views. Really enjoyed ourselves and already looking at dates when we can return next year.

I went to Chatham in the Spring of 1977 to attend a conference at CBI. It was my first ever visit but I immediately knew it wouldn't be my last. In June 1980 we started looking for a second home on Cape Cod--it didn't take long to decide that Chatham was where we wanted to be. After looking at numerous properties we were lucky in September of 1982 to see a newspaper ad for this house. It was love at first site--quality construction, a super fabulous location and it felt like home.

We were lucky! At that time is was a sprawling three bedroom, 2 bath all on one floor home. As our family continued growing (and getting married) we knew it was time to expand. We added approximately 2,000 square feet mostly as a second level - to include two more bedrooms and two ore bathrooms plus 2 large common rooms.

Every time I plan on going there I feel as excited as I was when we first owned it. It is a special place.

What is special about this property?
Location, location, location. Quiet neighborhood on a private road yet a 10 minute walk to the Oyster Pond and a 15 minute walk to the heart of downtown Chatham. For an after dinner stroll head down the street to Stage Harbor or walk the ''popular loop''.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable and there are 12 of them so an ideal place for your family/group to enjoy each others company yet still be able to have some private space and quiet time.

Just about a mile from the Bike trail or head in the other direction to the Lighthouse Beach.

The lot is large and has a flat area in the back for whiffle ball, croquet, corn whole or just playing tag and blowing bubbles.

This house has hosted many memory making events for my family as well as the families of numerous other satisfied tenants over the years. Sixtieth wedding anniversary, several 80th birthdays, multi-generational family gatherings with people descending from all across the country or the globe.

I had one tenant for the month of July who came back every year for 25 years until such time as her health prevented it. In her obituary it was mentioned that her most favorite place on earth was the house she rented in Chatham for the month of July.

What is special about your town?
How could you not love this town? Miles and miles of shore line, Summer Theater, weekly band concerts, Cape Cod Summer baseball league, any type of restaurant your palette desires. Don't forget golf, tennis, biking, paddle boarding and of course SHOPPING. Lots of boutiques to browse and buy. Chatham is a destination and a great place to spend your vacation.
