I'm returning to vacation hosting after several years away from the rental market. I've owned and cared for this Eastham home for twenty years and recently prepared it thoughtfully for guests again, with your comfort and ease in mind. I hope visitors who enjoy those things will feel at home here as well.
I love the natural beauty of the Outer Cape—the ocean, the bay beaches, ponds, marshes, wildlife, sunsets, and quiet neighborhoods that this vacation home is ideally located for you to enjoy.
Many families have returned to this house repeatedly over the years. It has been the setting for creating happy childhood memories of their summer on Cape Cod.
What is special about this property?
This classic Cape-style home combines old Cape Cod charm with modern comfort. Sunny windows brighten every room. Beds are made before your arrival, towels are provided, and a whole-house generator keeps things running even after storms.
The kitchen is thoughtfully equipped and organized. Photos inside cabinet doors help guests quickly find what they need on day one.
After the beach, the outdoor shower is a treat—I've enjoyed many showers there under the stars. The deck has outdoor dining, lawn seating, party lights, and a gas grill for relaxed summer evenings.
What truly makes this home exceptional is the location.
Boat Meadow Beach is a short walk away. At low tide, explore the flats for tiny sea creatures, whelk egg cases, and hermit crabs. At high tide, swim, paddle, or simply enjoy the view. Bring a picnic, a camera, or your paints—the Cape light has inspired artists for generations.
What is special about your town?
While you are here, explore beyond the beach, there is plenty to do nearby.
Eastham has old-fashioned summer concerts on the Windmill Green. The Eastham Public Library offers activities for children and programs for adults. Next door stands the lovely historic chapel painted by Edward Hopper, who spent many summers on the Outer Cape.
Just down Route 6 is the Salt Pond Visitor Center at the Cape Cod National Seashore, with exhibits and ranger programs about the nature, geology, and history of this remarkable sandbar.
On the border of Eastham and Wellfleet is Mass Audubon Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. A walk there can feel like stepping back in time.
Eastham is also a great launching point for Wellfleet, with its galleries, bookstores, restaurants, and charming streets.
Further out at the tip of the Cape is Provincetown. Catch a whale watch — I especially recommend Dolphin Fleet Whale Watch. Their naturalists are knowledgeable about the magnificent whales that return each spring. Seeing them up close is unforgettable.
Provincetown itself is lively, artistic, and full of character. Provincetown Art Association and Museum (PAAM) has beautifully curated exhibitions and a permanent collection celebrating the artists who helped establish Provincetown's reputation as an art colony.
And for music lovers, Payomet Performing Arts Center in Truro offers concerts and performances all summer long.
