Description

Description

Welcome to our home on Seconsett Island where you will be surrounded by water wherever you stroll! Just four houses down (minutes walk) is the beautiful warm, sandy ocean beach of Waquoit Bay where you will find scallop shells, clams, oysters, hermit crabs, blue crabs, spider crabs, horse shoe crabs, shrimp, fish and more. Sit on the beach with your family, play in the sand, enjoy frosty beverages and take in the many passing boats, parasailers, kayakers and Martha's Vineyard in the distance. It's quick and convenient to walk back and forth from the beach to the house ~ especially if you have young children. While you're heading to the beach grab a rake and basket and join the many Quahogers digging up tonight's dinner (quohogs to make a batch of clam chowder!). Or meander over to Hamblin Pond and cast our crab trap - baited with crab favorites like bacon or chicken - and you will have Blue Crabs galore for dinner. Boil them up and dip into butter! Join islanders for ''happy hour'' to watch the incredible views of the sun setting over Washburn Island - it's a sight to behold.

Seconsett Island is truly a hidden destination and boaters' paradise. Drag our kayaks or paddleboard to the several launch access ways and amble around Hamlin Pond, Waquoit Bay, or explore the many inlets and rivers in the area! Paddle across Seconsett Island over to barrier, uninhabited beaches, like Washburn Island (part of the National Estuary), or paddle over to the back side of awesome South Cape Beach. If you're new to kayaking or an experienced kayaker this is the location for you. So much to explore ~ truly Island Living! If you have a boat, make arrangements with the marina in our back yard - Little River Boat Yard - for deep water access to the Bay and Nantucket Sound. The Vineyard is a quick 15 minutes door to door! Bike or walk around our island for a quiet stroll. The options on the island are endless. When you are done with the days activities wash off all that sand with our outdoor shower located in the rear of the house. Venture off the island and you'll find the Mashpee Commons 8 minutes away (Gap, Pottery Barn, Williams-Sonoma, Lilly Pulitzer, Talbots, many quaint eateries, a movie theater, Starbucks to name a few) or drive in the opposite direction to explore all that Falmouth has to offer (have you visited The Knob in Quisset Harbor yet?!). The ferry to Martha's Vineyard is close by.

We hope you enjoy our home and island as much as we do. It's a pretty spectacular yet little known spot ~ just the way we like it! The house is clean (!), maintained, and well-cared for throughout the year. The house is fully equipped with Central Air to handle those hot summer days. The house itself has 2 full kitchens, 2 family rooms and 2 dining areas. Plenty of space for everyone and includes finely appointed amenities. There are 4 main bedrooms with 12 beds (1 sleep sofa) throughout the house. In one of two upstairs bedrooms, you will find 2 hidden trundle beds located beneath the twin beds. There is a queen-sized sleep sofa overlooking the main family room for extra sleep space. On the main floor you will find a master suite with shower and 3 full-size closets. Downstairs there is a queen-sized bedroom. Also located downstairs is a ''bunk room'' for additional guests. We provide soft sheets, bedding and pillows. We ask our guests to bring their own bath towels and beach towels. There is plenty of parking on-site with 2 seashell driveways (front of the house, rear of the property).

If you enjoy sunlight, then this is the home for you with a three-story window facing the water. Glimpse peeks of both Waquoit Bay and Hamblin Pond from our beautiful front deck while sipping your morning coffee. Or step onto the new architect-designed bluestone patio for relaxation. The bluestone patio also includes a custom-built granite fire pit for s'mores or open-coooking meals! There is an enclosed patio off the back of the house. Other activities available in the house include foosball, air hockey and a wii console. There are 2 flat screen TVs in the 2 family rooms, 1 flat screen TV in the master bedroom, and 1 flat screen in a guest bedroom -- all connected to Comcast. There are several traditional board games located in the front closet.

    Wonderful stay on Seconsett Island

We had never heard of Seconsett Island before we rented Steve and Danielle's beautiful home. What a wonderful stay we had. We were a family of 6 adults and 2 young children 4 and 4 months. The house was perfect for all of us and because of its set up we all got our own floor to retreat to at the end of the day. We made use of the Kayaks, Paddleboard, bikes and nearby beach.

Steve and Danielle couldn't have been any more helpful and welcoming. Wonderful people to work with.

    Wonderful home!

We stayed at Steve and Danielle's beautiful home last June (2021) and had an incredible time. The home is spectacular, decorated beautifully with so much space, it was the perfect size for my family of four (husband, two small kids) along with my parents. The backyard is amazing and it was a super easy walk to a small beach. The neighborhood is beautiful and very quiet, perfect for early kid bedtimes! My kids also LOVED the downstairs games and beach toys in the shed.

Danielle was so communicative leading up to and during our stay! We truly had the best time, thank you for letting us stay in your wonderful home. show more show less

    Loved it

The description of the house and area is accurate, although in reality everything is even more stunning. The owners, Danielle and Steve, were always quick to respond to our questions. We are a 3 generation family of 2 granddaughters and 5 adults, ages 4 till 80.

We all loved the house so much we hardly spend time on the nice patio and lawn. It is big, beautiful, comfortable, clean and lots of space. One bedroom we didn’t even use.

The basement apartment was perfect for the kids with 3 single beds in the family room in addition to the queen size bedroom, see info for everything else. It connects to the kitchen as well as the sunroom. The sunroom also connects to the large master suite area and to the patio. All connections can be locked and have curtains.

It was great to have 3 1/2 baths and a big laundry room with excellent machines, a sink and large countertop, we used it often. Detergent was provided. All bathrooms had hair dryers. The master bathroom is big, others are nice also.

The main kitchen was well equipped. The owners use the house often so there are many useful items, aluminum foil, paper towels, herbs, olive oil etc., everything worked. The air conditioner and the WiFi worked well also. We did not like the kitchen faucet, too much pressure, everybody got a shower the first time they used it. The dining table is huge, we had brought a plastic backed cloth to protect it, so that was good to have. Some decorative items we put aside during our stay to prevent breaking them.

The detached garage had lots of beach stuff, chairs, boogie boards, buckets, lawn games, bikes, scooters, pop-up sun shelter, etc. We could have left some of our stuff at home if we had known exactly what was there. There were not enough life jackets for all the adults, so we could not all kayak at the same time. One neighbor offered us her kayak though.

We used the kayaks and paddle board several times and it was easy to transport them to the neighborhood beach, a short walk away. Beach is nice, small, shallow water, warm water, great for children especially. There is a narrow, shallow waterway connection to the next door marsh area, also great for kayaking. We also drove to other beaches, all very different. The little neighborhood beach was really practical though because you wasted no time getting there. Afterwards the outdoor shower, with warm water, was very popular. We had brought a folding towel rack which came in handy, even though things did not dry very well outside because of humidity.

The neighborhood is wonderful, small, quiet, residential, beautiful, mostly dead-end streets ending at the waterfront. Neighborhood is great for walking, biking, always running into friendly neighbors, residents offering help and info. Stores and restaurants are just a few minutes drive away.

The house and location were just an ideal choice for us. The weather was great too, except for arrival and departure days. Check-in was at 4pm and check-out at 10 am on Saturdays. Thanks to Danielle and Steve for renting their beautiful home to us for a week, from the Pekoz family.
