The description of the house and area is accurate, although in reality everything is even more stunning. The owners, Danielle and Steve, were always quick to respond to our questions. We are a 3 generation family of 2 granddaughters and 5 adults, ages 4 till 80.
We all loved the house so much we hardly spend time on the nice patio and lawn. It is big, beautiful, comfortable, clean and lots of space. One bedroom we didn’t even use.
The basement apartment was perfect for the kids with 3 single beds in the family room in addition to the queen size bedroom, see info for everything else. It connects to the kitchen as well as the sunroom. The sunroom also connects to the large master suite area and to the patio. All connections can be locked and have curtains.
It was great to have 3 1/2 baths and a big laundry room with excellent machines, a sink and large countertop, we used it often. Detergent was provided. All bathrooms had hair dryers. The master bathroom is big, others are nice also.
The main kitchen was well equipped. The owners use the house often so there are many useful items, aluminum foil, paper towels, herbs, olive oil etc., everything worked. The air conditioner and the WiFi worked well also. We did not like the kitchen faucet, too much pressure, everybody got a shower the first time they used it. The dining table is huge, we had brought a plastic backed cloth to protect it, so that was good to have. Some decorative items we put aside during our stay to prevent breaking them.
The detached garage had lots of beach stuff, chairs, boogie boards, buckets, lawn games, bikes, scooters, pop-up sun shelter, etc. We could have left some of our stuff at home if we had known exactly what was there. There were not enough life jackets for all the adults, so we could not all kayak at the same time. One neighbor offered us her kayak though.
We used the kayaks and paddle board several times and it was easy to transport them to the neighborhood beach, a short walk away. Beach is nice, small, shallow water, warm water, great for children especially. There is a narrow, shallow waterway connection to the next door marsh area, also great for kayaking. We also drove to other beaches, all very different. The little neighborhood beach was really practical though because you wasted no time getting there. Afterwards the outdoor shower, with warm water, was very popular. We had brought a folding towel rack which came in handy, even though things did not dry very well outside because of humidity.
The neighborhood is wonderful, small, quiet, residential, beautiful, mostly dead-end streets ending at the waterfront. Neighborhood is great for walking, biking, always running into friendly neighbors, residents offering help and info. Stores and restaurants are just a few minutes drive away.
The house and location were just an ideal choice for us. The weather was great too, except for arrival and departure days. Check-in was at 4pm and check-out at 10 am on Saturdays. Thanks to Danielle and Steve for renting their beautiful home to us for a week, from the Pekoz family. show more show less
