    The perfect Orleans home

If you're looking for the perfect home to stay at during your time in Cape Cod and Orleans, this is the house to rent! It is a beautifully kept, clean, charming home, fit with everything you could need. You can tell that the owners really love and take great care of the home and property, and were incredibly detailed and prompt with responding to any questions that we had. The patio in the backyard faces lush, beautiful trees, and we had lovely views of beautiful birds and bunnies while we ate and relaxed. We loved the quiet, peaceful and friendly neighborhood, and were minutes away from beaches and all of the great stops in Orleans. We hope to stay here again! show more show less

    Magical summer in Orleans!

What a magical summer in Orleans! We were lucky enough to find this amazing house this past summer, having spent previous summers in other parts of Cape Cod. What a gem! It was like a time capsule back to another era. The house is in impeccable shape with some of the original fixtures, in addition to modern day updates. It was more than spacious for our family of 5. We loved the open floor plan, the huge kitchen (with appliances from the 70s!), the deck which was perfect for BBQs, and the backyard. The location is centrally located, with access to beautiful beaches, lakes, lots of different restaurants, shops, the Cape Cod Firebirds (you must attend at least 1 game!), and Hyannis when we needed to go to the "big city". Susan and Dennis were always available to answer questions, and respond to our needs.

The only thing I wished was that we were in walking distance to beaches/lakes but Nauset and Skaket are only about a 10-12 min drive.

We hope to return next summer!

A Well-Appointed Home in an Ideal Orleans Location

Susan's home is beautiful, comfortable, and sparkling clean. It is exactly as described in the listing but even nicer.

The location is a really lovely neighborhood with easy walks to the water and two (or three?) town landings where you can easily park and put in your kayak, sketch or just sit and enjoy your coffee. There are also conservation trails nearby for walking.

We met many friendly neighbors while out walking. The neighborhood is really quiet, even over the weekend of the 4th!

The house is beautifully built and everything about it is meticulously maintained. It is not a typical rental, but a carefully designed and built Colonial. The one-floor living is ideal for hosting older people (as we were!). And the openness of the living room is perfect for a multi-generational family. The kitchen is really great. While the stove is older, it works perfectly well and looks like new. Susan has everything you could want for cooking, grilling, and even baking if you're so inclined. We appreciated that the cupboards were stocked with essentials like coffee, cooking oil, vinegar, dishwashing soap, etc. The dishes, glasses, and cookware are very nice.

The bathrooms are original to the house but in perfect condition and sparkling clean. Also, both are perfect for older people. Very easy to step in and out of. Our 91-year-old parents were very comfortable.

We really appreciated the thoughtful things Susan did to welcome us: a bottle of wine, a pie, and a bar of chocolate from Nauset Farm (yum!) greeted us along with a handwritten note welcoming us to her home.

Susan is very easy to communicate with and responded to our questions very quickly. (She even went above and beyond and purchased a beach umbrella for us to use when I asked if there was one at the house!)

Our activities included: walking Nauset beach at sunset and looking for seals; kayaking many different parts of Pleasant Bay; biking the bike trail as well as to the beach; dinners at home on the grille and a lobster feast; cheering on the Orleans Firebird's minor league baseball (a wonderful night out and I'm not even a sports fan!).

I'll conclude with the highest compliment: we would rent it again!

    Great Family Home!

Our family loves to vacation on Cape Cod every year. We particularly enjoyed our stay this year in this fabulous and welcoming home! The home was very clean, the mattresses were new and comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped with everything that we needed. Susan was wonderful and accommodating and she spared no effort in the professional details of the home. The home is conveniently located in close proximity to the beaches and the stores which made for a very relaxing and fun stay in Orleans! We will be back! show more show less

    Beautiful home

Beautiful home in a lovely neighborhood exactly how it was described but much nicer! My family loved the open floor plan, pretty hardwood floors & large kitchen equipped with everything you might need to cook meals.

We would definitely stay in this very clean & functional home again!

    Great house...Great family vacation - 5 Stars!

We spent a wonderful 4th of July week at this beautiful home and loved it. The location is perfect, close to Nauset Beach and Skaket beach, both ideal spots for families. The house is located in a gorgeous neighborhood and is so convenient to restaurants, grocery stores, biking trails and beautiful Asa's Landing - which was a perfect spot for kayaking.

The home was spotless, beds were extremely comfortable and the spacious floor plan and backyard were perfect for our family of five. We loved Orleans and wish our vacation was longer than one week.

Susan was wonderful to work with, communication was seamless, we will definitely rent this property again next year!

This special home is new to our family in 2021. After many years renting in various towns on the cape, and looking for that special property that would have the right balance of charm, comfort, space, and most importantly - location and access to the water - we were very grateful to have discovered this special gem of a home in a quaint, and very desirable area in East Orleans! We plan to enjoy this home with our extended family in early summer and fall, as well as the off-season, and share it with others during the peak summer weeks in July and August. While this is our first year as vacation rental owners, we are also local Realtors and very attune to the needs and desires of our guests. We are very excited to welcome you to our home and hope that you have a very comfortable, enjoyable and restful stay here!

What is special about this property?
This special home was custom built in 1977 by a couple who had spent many years vacationing in the Eastham and Orleans areas. They had it built according to the ''Royal Barry Wills'' style Cape. Royal Barry Wills was one of America's most popular architects in the mid 1900's and master of the Cape Cod-style house. Will's artistry brought refinement to every level of planning, engineering, and detail of the Cape Cod model. Wills was very particular about each point of the home and defined the exact characteristics that made this style unique and quintessential. Wills didn't ''copy'' the original Cape houses. Instead, he imbibed the sense of ''charm'' into the original style. If you are interested in architecture, you may enjoy learning more about Royal Barry Wills work.

This home has been very well cared for and well loved by the family who built it. Its charming and original features have withstood the test of time and are still in impeccable condition, belying its age of 44 years!. We hope to continue to preserve these features and ask for your thoughtful care during your stay.
