Description

Description

From the moment you pull into the shell and stone driveway behind the tall private hedges in one of the most sought-after areas on Cape Cod, you will be enchanted by this beautifully situated home with mature plantings and flowers blooming in every season. With attention to detail throughout the house and an elevated, beachy style, the welcoming foyer leads you to an inviting, spacious dining area, a well-appointed kitchen with breakfast nook and a full bathroom down the hall boasting marble tile and walk-in shower. With new mattresses throughout the home, you will sleep like a baby in the charming primary bedroom. The guest room, also known as the Seagull room, houses 2 twin beds.

On the other side of the foyer, you will be lured into a spectacular family room with vaulted ceilings, oversized windows, and built-in bookshelves that create the perfect gathering space for good conversation, playing games, doing a puzzle, reading a book, watching a show on the big screen tv or taking a nap by the fireplace.
A full bathroom and the ''Starfish'' bedroom complement this side of the house along with a back door that leads out to a private deck, perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or a beverage at sunset.

The lower level accommodates guests with an additional spacious ''Whale's Tale'' bedroom and full-service bathroom, washer & dryer and another wonderful gathering space with large screen TV. Walk-out French doors lead you onto the patio with table service for 8.

The picturesque backyard is surrounded by trees and conservation land that provide beauty and privacy, as does the enclosed outdoor shower. Newly installed energy efficient mini-split air conditioning units will keep you feeling cool and comfortable inside, but make sure to enjoy the Adirondack chairs on the front lawn as you listen to the crash of the ocean waves, enjoy some lawn games, or stargaze at night.

Nauset Beach is .6 miles down the street, but as an added bonus, this rental allows the Nauset Heights Association privilege of private access to the beach which is a mere .3 miles, 6 minute walk via Callanan's Pass. Priscilla's Cove is .6 miles in the other direction and is the perfect spot for kayaking, paddleboarding, windsurfing, shell-seeking or walking along sandy paths that lead out to the ocean.

Orleans Center is only 3 miles away. But just down the road there are several excellent spots to dine, enjoy happy hour, get coffee, have ice cream and shop at quality gift and clothing stores.

This property is the full package that will make you feel 'home away home' and want to return year after year.

    A Beautiful Vacation Rental

Our family has spent many summer vacations on the Cape, but our week in Orleans at 54 Nauset Heights was the best so far. The home is clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. We also really enjoyed not having to lug bath towels and bedding with us. The location is wonderful with Nauset beach being a pleasant 5-minute walk away. The owners were easy to work with and responsive to any questions we had. We can't wait to return!

    Phenomenal!

We have rented in the Cape for over 22 years, primarily in Chatham. This year we wanted to try something new so we found this beauty, and so glad we did! Everything about it was perfection - from the comfortable and tasteful decor to the beautiful setting, and most of all the location. Both gorgeous Nauset Beach and Priscilla's landing were a brief stroll from the house and everything the Orleans has to offer was no more than a 10-minute drive. Traveling with two adult children, everyone had space to themselves as well as areas to gather, work or relax. Larry and Beth are responsive, kind and gracious hosts who have considered their guests' every need and have equipped the home in kind - a renter's dream. We LOVED it and cannot wait to return next year! Thank you for a wonderful experience. show more show less

    Terrific Two Weeks in Orleans

Our two weeks at this house were terrific. There was enough room for everybody to sleep comfortably and relax both inside and outside. When the weather was less than ideal we played board games and read books. We also had the opportunity to hike, ride bikes and visit the beach as frequently was we wanted. Having the beach a short walk away allowed some flexibility. The house also provided everything you could want while on a Cape vacation. It was very easy to settle in and enjoy our family time. The owner was extremely is extremely easy to communicate with. show more show less

    Perfect vacation home

This rental provided the perfect place for our annual family vacation. The house had everything we needed to enjoy our time together. The living room space provided comfortable seating for our family of 7 to enjoy reading in the early mornings and Scrabble games at night. The ability to walk to the beach is a vacation game changer; allowing people to come and go based on personal preference. The well appointed kitchen, as well as the owner provided linens and towels made for a comfortable stay. This home has it all, show up with your personal belongings ready to relax! Larry and Beth were helpful hosts and the information sheet provided in advance gave us just the right amount of detail. We have been coming to Cape Cod for 30 years with our family and we have a new favorite rental! We highly recommend this house. show more show less

    Ultimate Nauset Beach Vacation

We enjoyed an amazing two-week Orleans vacation in an amazing house in an amazing location. The house exceeded expectations being comfortable, spacious, and well-appointed. The owners made the stay easy, supplying bedding and towels. The location in Nauset Heights made it easy to walk to the neighborhood beach or Nauset public beach and explore surrounding areas of nature. The location also created the perfect atmosphere to kick back, relax, and recharge. It truly is a Nauset Heights gem!

    Perfect beach spot

This was a new location for us in the Cape having stayed in Eastham for the previous 15 years. But now the kids are grown and needs change. This house was in a perfect location and had all the amenities our family could want. The house was obviously updated throughout as seen in the pictures. The owners were very responsive in their communications as well as being very helpful with local spots and recommendations. The house is centrally located in Orleans, so you can take a slow drive into Chatham for the day as well as a leisurely drive to Wellfleet. The best asset to the house was its proximity to the private beach. That alone made it all worth while. Will definitely be booking here again. show more show less

    Superb!

From start to finish this was an superb experience. Larry is a responsive host and communication was easy. The house is lovely and well-stocked with everything one could possibly need. It was spotless on arrival and my family and I all agreed it was one of the most comfortable and convenient homes we've stayed at after 20-ish years of vacationing on the Cape. Proximity to the beach was fabulous. We'd absolutely recommend staying here!

    Wonderful home and location!

This is a perfect house for a family vacation! Beautifully appointed, it is very spacious with a dining room and living room where all can gather, and large bedrooms that offer privacy and great closets -- no living out of your suitcase. Kitchen is stocked with everything - just add your own food and beverages.
Nauset Beach is a 5 minute stroll from the house, and it's a quick ride to great restaurants. We stayed for 2 weeks and didn't want to leave!

    Beautiful Nauset Beach Rental

Such a lovely home! From the moment we opened the front door and walked from room to room we could see how perfectly decorated and welcoming it was in every way. Everything we needed to make our vacation comfortable was cared for by the owners. We were only 2, but this house would easily accommodate a larger family with all the same comforts. The location was exceptional including the gorgeous neighborhood, proximity to the private beach just a 5 min walk from the home, as well as, nearby restaurants, shops and activities just a short drive away. We bicycled on the Cape Cod Rail Trail, golfed on The Captains course in Brewster, played tennis at the township courts and enjoyed visiting Provincetown and other special places. Every evening returning to this special home was wonderful. show more show less

Our lifelong dream of owning a home on Cape Cod became a reality in May, 2023. We have been coming to the Cape our entire lives, having spent more time on the bay side in East Dennis and Brewster growing up. A few years ago we began renting in Orleans and fell in love with the town, the beaches and the community offerings. We met with a realtor to ''start the process'' but were in no rush to buy. Three months later, we did what we never thought we'd do: buy a home sight unseen (except online) because this home, in this particular location, was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and absolutely too good to pass up!

What is special about this property?
We feel so grateful to have landed in the Nauset Heights neighborhood in East Orleans, one of the most desirable areas on the Cape, which offers us and our guests access to private beach areas and a beautiful setting to walk or ride bikes. Our home is beautifully situated on the property, being set back from the street behind plentiful hydrangea bushes and tall leyland cypress hedges which provide a lovely natural border that gives a sense of privacy in front while being surrounded by a former cranberry bog and conservation land on all other sides. We love gathering on the side yard to catch a glimpse of the sunset out back, enjoying meals together on our back patio and relaxing in our adirondack chairs out front by the beautiful black maple and cherry trees, taking in the seasonal blooms of irises, peonies, columbine, roses and hydrangeas. One of the things we love most is being able to hear the crash of the waves, with the ocean being a mere .3 miles, 5 minute picturesque walk away. We also love being able to kayak, paddle board, windsurf and quahog at Priscilla's Cove about a half mile down the road, while also having public Nauset Beach just a half mile in the other direction. Since this is our ''home away from home'' that we share with renters, we have put thoughtful, loving care into the details of the decor, the softness of the bedding and towels, the well-stocked kitchen and the outside spaces to provide the most comfortable, relaxing experience while we are here.

What is special about your town?
After 50+ years coming to Cape Cod, we have found Orleans to be the town that has 'It All.' It offers charming, small town ambience while also providing the convenience of larger stores for food shopping and necessities. With an excellent array of diverse restaurants, shops and art galleries on Main Street and beyond, to the quality choice of beaches on both the ocean and bay sides with plenty of coves for water sports, birding and hiking, Orleans has something for everyone!

There are several places to get fantastic fresh seafood or also delicious take-out. And It's hard to resist frequenting the absolute best places to get donuts, baked goods and ice cream! We really enjoy hitting the farmer's market on Saturdays, supporting the Artists' Cottages and local galleries, riding bikes on local roads or jumping on the Rail Trail, watching the Orleans Firebirds play high-level baseball, catching a show at the local theatre just a couple of miles down the street and attending summer concerts at Nauset Beach, with picnic in tow or patronizing some of their delicious food truck offerings.

Perhaps the thing we treasure the most about our special spot is walking to the beach to watch sunrise in the morning while being able to catch the sunset at Skaket Beach or Rock Harbor (accompanied by a local steel drum band on Wednesday evenings in summer) - all in the same day! We have found our little slice of heaven right here in East Orleans!
