Description

Description

Stay in our lovely solar powered air-conditioned home, which is steps away from the 10 mile Shining Sea Bike Path and the beach.
We are in a very quiet neighborhood. Woods Hole Village is about a mile away on the bike path and is the perfect place to experience Cape Cod. Our home is perfect for cyclists who want to bike Cape Cod, beach enthusiasts, MBL or WHOI scientists, and families wanting rest and relaxation. It’s a charming waterfront town. You can also walk to the ferry for a day trip to Martha's Vineyard. Or, just relax on the screened porch and listen to the birds.

Our home has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. On the first floor there are two bedrooms. One bedroom has a double and a twin bed (the picture has not been updated). The other has a queen bed. Please note that the second bedroom does not have a bedroom door, but does have a privacy curtain There is also a bathroom with a shower and a laundry room on the first floor. On the second floor, there is a bedroom with a queen bed, a bathroom with tub and shower, living room, kitchen and enormous 3 season porch. The screened porch is our favorite spot in the house. The porch has beautiful views of our greenery, comfortable couches, a six person dining table, a ceiling fan and board games. If you need to work, we have a desk with an ergonomic office chair on the second floor. We also have a private, landscaped back yard, an open front porch, and an outdoor shower. Other amenities include a dishwasher, washer/dryer, Internet, and both a gas and BBQ grill. Beach towels and linens are provided. We have a t.v. with an Amazon Fire stick to stream programs. There is no cable. You can park 3-4 cars in our driveway. We have a NEMA 14-50 outlet in the driveway for electric car charging (check compatibility with your car as you may need an adaptor).

We are a short walk to the WHOI Quisset Campus (walking trails, basketball, baseball and tennis courts) and the MBL cottages and tennis courts.

    Great stay in Woods Hole

This is a great, comfortable property very close to beaches and the bike path. The screened in porch is amazing! Comfortable kitchen and living room. Beds were comfortable. The best part is using the bike path for an easy ride into Woods Hole, easy ride to beaches. We loved Nobska beach, which requires a local parking pass to park; but is fine to ride your bicycles to and use and is beautiful and sandy and fun for kids. We brought our bike trailer to haul gear. We also rode to the Vineyard ferries and spent the day with our bikes. show more show less

Walkable to array of beach choices, from a very private rocky one 2 minutes away, to our favorite public, not crowded, and sandy one 5-10 minutes, all along the bike trail. Bike to grab lunch in Woods Hole or the Station Grille, or if you are more serious biker a morning ride to end of the trail and back is 18 miles. Another really good bike loop is to Woods Hole, then back via Church street and the Nobska lighthouse. House is airy. We liked sitting in the screened in porch and looking at the trees through the windows. The house has everything you need for one, two, or three swims a day! We definitely want to come back. We had a wonderful stay in Woods Hole! The home had everything we needed and was very clean. Great location—close to everything you would want to do. My family asked if we could rent the home again for our next visit! (from AirBNB)

This beautiful home is an oasis away from home. Comfortable, clean, lovely, and super convenient to Falmouth, Woods Hole, and very near the bike/walking path that leads from Woods Hole to Falmouth to North Falmouth. We rented bikes in town from Corner Cycle and walked to pick them up and then rode them back. Nicole and Steve were super fantastic hosts, and very communicative, and helpful. We were attending a reunion meeting at the MBL, and this was the perfect home to stay in for convenience in walking to Woods Hole and the MBL. And absolutely lovely and stunning during the fall, with gorgeous southern exposure and a living room and kitchen filled with light and the warmth of the sun. Very convenient to the beach, and we can only imagine how exciting it would be to stay at this location during the summer season. Fantastic kitchen, games, books, towels, state of the art television, washer and dryer, and lots of space with three bedrooms and both the upstairs and downstairs spaces. Lovely sun room with ample space of sitting and another table for dining. One of the most amazing places we have ever stayed, and hope very much to return again in the future. show more show less

This was our 7th year renting in the Falmouth area, and the first time we've stayed at this house. The location was ideal - just steps from the bike path, which we enjoyed every day. And about a mile walk into the town of Woods Hole. We stayed four nights.
This is the first time we've rented during the fall, and the Cape is a wonderful destination this time of year (not withstanding the Nor'easter that came in the last night, knocking down a lot of trees and knocking out the power in most of Falmouth).
The open kitchen/dining/living room area on the main floor was bright and sunny on the days it didn't rain. Although it was in the 50's and 60's during the day, the large, south facing windows brought in enough warmth that we only had to use the heat briefly in the evening. The heating system took a little effort to figure out, but the owners were very helpful in explaining it to us.
The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked with cooking utensils, pots, dishes, glasses, etc.
Reminder that there is no cable TV, which actually ended up being a plus, as we spent time reading and talking in the evening.
If we come back in the summer, I would love to get more use out of the screened in porch.
This place is not fancy, but it's comfortable, very clean and quiet. There was room in the driveway to easily park three cars.
The owners had great communication and responded quickly to my messages.

This place is perfect for a chill weekend away. The beach and bike path are very close and the Falmouth and Woods Hole strips are easy to get to. We really enjoyed the living room space and Sonos sound system. Communication was great, the house was clean and comfy, and we had a wonderful time!

Great home. Close to bike path which is great to get to Woods Hole or North Falmouth (which is also great because bike riding for kiddos could be tough on some of those streets). Kitchen was fully stocked with extensive pots and pans which helped us prepare great meals. very functional house for vacation.

Nicole and Steve's place is so wonderful! We had such a beautiful week. The house has great light and views of trees through the windows. The house was so clean and the sheets and bath towels were new and very nice. There were beach towels as well which was great. There is a fully appointed kitchen and a Poland spring water cooler. We also appreciated the bottle of welcome wine!

The shining sea bike path is a must. We rented bikes for the week from corner cycle (they delivered the four bikes to the house and picked them back up at the end of the week). Our kids ages 6 and 8 loved biking into Falmouth or into Woods Hole - it was their favorite thing to do each day. The rented bikes come with bike locks so we could just lock up the bikes and take the ferry to Martha's Vineyard for the day, then bike home.

The intersection just to the left of the house is dangerous and sometimes cars come way too fast. We walked our kids and bikes across the road each time. But once across, the bike path is very close.

This house was a great central location for day trips to Martha's Vineyard, Plimoth Patuxet Museums, whale watching, and visiting other beaches along the cape. We loved Woods Hole, too! Unfortunately the Woods Hole aquarium will not be open this summer (2021). The MLB visitors center will be open July 1. We visited the WHOI Discovery Center and our kids loved it. Definitely visit Pie in the Sky Bakery and eat on the roof of the Woods Hole Market!

The water is very close, and honeysuckle was blooming along the path down to the beach. This is a beautiful spot.

    Wonderful Vacation

My husband and I rented this home for three weeks last summer and were very pleased with it. I have long been a lover of Woods Hole and have vacationed there many times; this home added to the experience.

It was very comfortable, nicely furnished ,well air conditioned when needed, and had ample sleeping room. The real gem of this house , in my opinion, is the very large screened in porch...perfect for coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening.

It is a short walk to the small private beach and a very short ride to public beaches. Also, very close to Falmouth and of course Woods Hole town where you can catch the ferry to MV and Nantucket. The icing on the cake were the two raised bed vegetable gardens which we were invited to reap the harvest from....some of the best tomatoes ever.

The owners, Steve and Nicole, are both attorneys in Chicago. Steve has gone to Woods Hole every year of his life. His grandfather was an MBL scientist. Nicole grew up in Hawaii, but now ranks Woods Hole as her favorite place in the world. Steve's parents built this house on one of the final remaining lots in Woods Hole. They loved the lot's proximity to the beach and the bike path. When Steve inherited the house, we added a large screened porch, mini-split AC units and an outdoor shower, which turned out to be perfect additions.
We rent our Chicago home while we are in Woods Hole or on vacation.

What is special about this property?
The porch and the open living area on the second floor (kitchen/living room) are our favorite parts of the house. We love that in a few minutes we can be on the WHOI beach, which is almost always empty and has a lovely swimming area. Our kids bike to the Children's School of Science safely on the bike path. We also like that our kids can hang out with their friends on the first floor or in the yard and the adults can enjoy a bit of serenity on the second floor.

What is special about your town?
Woods Hole is the best! Take the bike path to charming Woods Hole town for breakfast at Pie in the Sky, lunch at Quicks Hole or the Woods Hole Market (restaurant and grocery store), get an ice cream at Jimmy's or Candy Go Nuts, have dinner at Water Street Kitchen, and then go to the Captain Kid for a drink. (There are other restaurants, but these are our favorites). Explore the charming Woods Hole Library, the Aquarium, the WHOI Exhibit Center, the Buzzards Bay Discovery Center, or take a sailing lesson at the Woods Hole Yacht Club. Riding a bike on the 10 mile bikeway is a gorgeous way to spend your day. You can rent a bike from Corner Cycle in Falmouth.
