    Wonderful Stay

We rented this house with another family and it was perfect for all of our needs, The kitchen, dining room and living rooms are open spaces with an open floor plan where everyone could get together. The house is very deep and has a private wrap around deck in the back , equipped with a gas weber grill. , There is also a beautifully landscaped yard off of the deck that was perfect for the kiddos to play in. The house is very spacious and well stocked!

The location is very convenient, as you can walk to town and it's only a short distance to the grocery store, beach etc. Can easily bike to beach or grocery store ( and with summer traffic this is a HUGE plus). The owner was extremely helpful in answering questions and making sure we had a good experience. I can't recommend this home enough! We will be back again! show more show less

    What a wonderful Vineyard rental

A true home and vacation get away. This house has everything you need for a restorative and restive vacation - close to everything, from beaches to town; ample space with many rooms to gather with multiple living room areas and dining areas and porches. The large kitchen is filled with everything you need for your vacation, there is a great outdoor shower, and large bedrooms. What a wonderful place to return to each year.

    A wonderful retreat
This was an amazing vacation beginning with the communication from the owner to the great location to the beautiful home. It was an easy to walk to downtown Edgartown and we enjoyed the cute village. There were beach chairs and bikes for our use. The beach was an quick drive. There is a bus stop at the end of the road so it was easy to travel to other parts of the island. The home was beautiful. We especially enjoyed the back deck for relaxing and unwinding. All of the 5 bedrooms had queen beds with one having a king. That is hard to find in a rental and was perfect for 5 couples. I highly recommend this rental. show more show less

    50 year reunion of friends
The property is open, spacious, very well stocked kitchen, bright, nicely decorated. There were 7 of us and we could all gather comfortably to chat in all the rooms. Lots of options to sit outside on the property and we used them all. We had a wonderful time. Very good location in town.

    Location, location, vacation!
The house is nice and big-- larger than our group needed but still spacious for a large group with multiple sitting and dining areas and two staircases to the upstairs. What attracted me is that the house is walking distance to Edgartown, a lovely stroll and we could skip the hunt for parking in town. What I didn't foresee was how much we loved the outdoor shower, the screen porch, and the large open kitchen. The house is down a charming unpaved lane and walking into town we felt part of the local fabric and much less like tourists. We really appreciated the beach chairs and umbrellas provided by the host. It was so nice having a washer and dryer onsite, as well as a dishwasher in the kitchen. We cooked while there and found everything we needed for meal prep in the kitchen plus a gas barbecue. We ate either at the kitchen counter or in the screen porch, which also was the site of some spirited game nights (BYO games). There is a feeling of generosity on the part of the host and that she trusts her guests. There is a compact blue tooth speaker in the kitchen we connected to our phones for tunes. Notes: Every bedroom has a fan, but the house is not equipped with AC if that is important to you. You may miss in the description that renters must provide their own linens. The Stop & Shop is nearby but the best selection is at one of the Cronig's Markets. Also, there are wonderful farm stands on the island for fresh flowers and produce. show more show less

    Great House
We had a great time. The house was spacious and had everything we needed. A bit easier to get back and forth if you have a car as it's off the beaten path, but Ubers were mostly able to locate it without much trouble. Would certainly stay here again!

    Wonderful Large Farmhouse

We had a wonderful stay! The home is much larger than it appears in photographs. Biking distance to town & groceries.

Home is fully stocked, very clean and comfortable. Bikes and chairs are provided in the shed for you to use.

Front screened in porch is a great spot to read a book or have a morning coffee time. Back deck for barbecues.

New outdoor shower enjoyed by all. Large living room for family movie watching & comfortable beds.

I enjoyed how much space the house offered. We had 3 grandparents join our family of 5 and there was plenty of room and most importantly plenty of bathrooms.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Michelle's home and hope to return next year.

    A Wonderful Stay

9 friends and family enjoyed a fantastic stay at this perfect home. It was beautifully maintained, very spacious—much larger than anticipated and had everything we could need! The property has a great deck and sitting areas, with plenty of rooms for us to split off and do some work in different areas of the home during our stay. I'd highly recommend. It's a short walk to town and a beautiful place to work the week. Miki was a dream to work with.

Charming, roomy, open and airy (we had a HOT week), this home had character and plenty of space to separate for conversations or reading to kids (loved the screened front porch and the back deck) or to get 8 adults around a table for dinner together. Late sleepers had plenty of privacy in the upstairs rooms. We LOVED the outdoor shower, the art work on walls, the pantry room for organizing food we brought, the second refrigerator option, the TV removed from central action where many enjoyed tracking sports events, and the kitchen layout where kids could eat at the breakfast bar while others cooked. The location is amazing: even the 5 and a 1/2 year olds could walk into Edgartown for ice-cream or other excursions; State Beach and South Beach were each only c. 10 minutes drive away, while Morning Glory Farm or the Stop and shop were even closer. Michele was great to work with, we would certainly return, and we highly recommend this home to future vacationers!! show more show less

I was born in Brooklyn, raised on Long Island & lived in and around NYC my entire life. I now live in Wilton, CT. My cultural interests are many & are satisfied with the New York Broadway theater, music, arts & entertainment.
I am a proud mother of 4 adult children I have raised as a single parent since my husband died 17 years ago. Each is unique...a NYC businesswoman, a solar power entrepreneur, a criminal justice investigator and a musician.. Each one is an important focus of my life supporting them in the development of their own fruitful and successful lives.
I own my own consulting business for executives in large multi-national corporations. I have taught or coached more than 10,000 leaders throughout the world in more than 50 countries on 6 continents. I have accumulated more than 3 million frequent flyer miles. While I love my work & my travels, my favorite place on the earth is Martha's Vineyard. I searched long for all of that this, our second home. The house is special primarily because it's large to accommodate my large immediate & extended family where we celebrate holidays & enjoy the best of life. The ''island atmosphere'' detaches us from the challenges of life & offers my family and friends the ability to relax, have wonderful conversations, cook a meal together and enjoy life in a beautiful home in a beautiful place .

    ''
I visited the Vineyard for several years before I finally bought this house whil

What is special about this property?
My home was originally built in 1900 by an apple orchard farmer named Orran Norton. The house has been expanded & renovated through the years but the essential ''feel'' of the house remains somehow firmly established on this land. In fact, when you live in the house, you can understand how the house was built with purpose on this very spot...on top of a hill (unusual for this part of the island) near Eel Pond. When the water warms during the day in the summer, it creates a wind that then sweeps up the hill & flows through the house...like a natural air conditioner.
And while my interior decorating is mostly contemporary, the house is dotted with some original antique pieces, each with it's own story.
I love to cook & entertain, so the kitchen is fully equipped, open & perfectly designed for gatherings & fun.
As a master gardener, I lovingly restored the original lilac hedge on the property line so that it is now a showplace in the spring & the setting for my annual ''Lilac Party'' with my neighbors. I also planted a perennial garden in the back yard & added Hydrangea, Rose of Sharon, and other flowers & plantings that frame the house & yard. I placed window boxes throughout the first floor and placed large flowered planters on the back & side deck. Bird feeders and birdbaths serve as a view out of every window.
I have decorated the entire house with love and care, including the four brand new bathrooms.
My friends and family love the house & I'm sure you will too.

What is special about your town?
I grew up on Long Island Sound $ vacationed on Fire Island so I am an ocean person. I visited the Vineyard during my open-ocean sailing days & always loved the wonderful & wondrous sense of the place. And the most endearing part about the Vineyard is that it does not change a lot. What you remember is essentially what you will find again...to be delighted & enchanted with its natural beauty, glorious history, and gracious atmosphere. Everyone on the Vineyard is smiling and having fun. I love to ride my bike here because there are miles of off road bike paths. You can see a multi-generational family riding together. It's a beautiful thing.
And since I'm walking distance to town, a walk down Water Street could end up sitting on a rocker with a cocktail making new friends at Chesca's...or while strolling through the quaint streets & lanes of Edgartown, you can imagine what the place was like in the Whaling Days.
Edgartown is beautiful and stylish with a multitude of restaurants and pubs and designer shops and galleries. Sometimes, you will come upon musicians playing in a square or a group of children at their homemade lemonade stand. Or, just spend some time at the public wharf talking to the fishermen or just watching the Chappy ferry transit back & forth. Or take a 7 mile bike ride to Oak Bluffs....one of the most enjoyable rides you will ever experience...with water on both sides of you & the air
