Getting back to Cape Cod and the Islands

Jennie Sparrow | 11/20/2017 (updated 1/9/2018)

Why do you get back to the Cape and Islands? If you’ve been following our Facebook and Instagram accounts over the past couple of months, you’ve heard this question many times! The Cape holds a very special place in many people’s hearts—it’s the place where they vacationed in the summer when they were growing up, the place where they lived and worked for a few summers, where they visit family, and where they eat delicious seafood and walk its many beautiful beaches. The Cape and Islands are destinations that, once you visit, you yearn to return again and again.

We ran a contest in October asking our followers to share their photos and videos that illustrate why they #GetBack to the Cape and Islands—the winning submission receiving two lobsters. We received such fantastic submissions that it was hard to decide the winners. We thank everyone who entered!

We’d like to extend congratulations to the winner, Amy, who submitted a photo of herself, her husband, and her children taken at Rock Harbor in Orleans during sunset.

Here she is receiving her winnings . . .

. . . and sharing them with her husband!

We’d also like to congratulate runners-up Ally and Annie as well:

We love seeing and hearing why people #GetBack to the Cape and Islands—please keep sharing those special moments with us!
