Highfield Hall and Gardens in Falmouth

Highfield Hall in Falmouth.

We recently uncovered another of the Cape & Islands’ gems high on a hill in the town of Falmouth. Perched above lovely, sprawling gardens and surrounded by acres of conservation land, this renovated 1878 Victorian home is a destination that should not be missed!

“Stickworks” sculpture by Patrick Dougherty currently on exhibit.

Considered part of Falmouth’s “Arts on the Hill,” Highfield Hall and Gardens sits among Highfield Theater, the Cape Cod Conservatory, and Falmouth Academy. The property is host to musical events, seasonal art exhibits, and beautifully restored gardens and trails through Beebe Woods. Inside the home, the permanent exhibition, The Highfield Story, “tells the dramatic history of Highfield Hall and traces its journey from private family enclave, to abandoned edifice, to the pride of our community.”

Be sure this Upper Cape destination makes it onto your “must visit” list. Whether it’s a picnic lunch under one of their gorgeous beech trees, or a stroll through their lush gardens and intriguing outdoor exhibits, you’re sure to enjoy a day spent at Highfield Hall.
