Cape Symphony Presents: Celtic Session & Community Dance

About Cape Symphony Presents: Celtic Session & Community Dance...Cape Symphony Presents invites you to a Celtic gathering featuring a session with Chatham fiddler Rose Clancy followed by a community dance led by Summer McCall at Cape Symphony's Falmouth campus (60 Highfield Drive) on Wednesday July 24, 2024. The session will begin at 6:30 PM, and the dance will be from 7:30 – 9:30 PM.

A Celtic session is typically led by one or two musicians, joined by any number of others on various instruments and vocals. The joy is in learning by listening, singing, and playing, and sharing this time-honored tradition. For the dance, Summer McCall will draw from Irish, Scottish, Cape Breton, English folk and New England folk traditions including contra-dancing and square dancing. The dances will be easy and fun to learn, and no prior experience is necessary! Summer will teach with patience and good humor.
