As a party of two friends, looking for a relaxing summer getaway, we couldn't have been more lucky than to find the delightful Towns End Cottage. Positioned away from the hustle and bustle of Nantucket Town, the cottage is quietly situated in the picturesque village of 'Sconset. The location is great, just off the rotary in the center of the village, so perfect to pick up one of the many island shuttle buses, for provisions from the local store or for lunch or dinner at the various cafes and restaurants (our favorite was Chanticleer, a must visit if you are on the island). Add to this a short stroll to the vast golden beach, and the location couldn't really be better.
The other really great feature of the cottage is the spacious and beautifully planted garden cleverly arranged with furniture to provide both sun and shade at any time of the day, and with a high hedge dotted with beautiful hibiscus bushes which seem to thrive in the island's climate, providing ample privacy to relax or dine out in.
The cottage is comfortably furnished with all the comforts you would need, 1 double bedroom and 1 bedroom with a single bed, truckle and bunk. The interior is cozy and welcoming.
Nantucket is a charming island, full of history and culture. Everyone we met was polite, courteous and helpful. All in all, a great vacation. show more show less
