We had a great time at Sanktuary and Howard has done a great job with his family's home and it was a fantastic vacation. We will hopefully be returning in the future. Our 7 month old started crawling when we were there, and had a great time on the back lawn.

We have visited Nantucket for the past 30 years and “Sanktuary” is by far one of the best places we have ever rented. Large, clean, fully equipped and perfectly situated, we all enjoyed a much needed vacation. Howard has thought of everything, and the master suite with deck allowed us all a chance to sit and admire the setting sun and the ocean each evening. We plan to rent this wonderful home again when we return to our favorite island.

Sanktuary (13 Lyons Lane) in Nantucket is just wonderful. Great location, beautifully maintained grounds and an incredible master suite. The multiple decks provide plenty of outdoor seating and we especially enjoyed the deck off the master suite with ocean views. Even though the home is in a neighborhood setting, we had a feeling of great privacy given the trees bordering the property. We highly recommend this beautiful home.

This summer marks our 4th consecutive year at Howard's house, and everything was perfect as always. The new outdoor wood [eucalyptus] table, chairs, and rocker make both decks even more enjoyable. Other upgrades inside and out add to an already beautiful setting -- we hope to be back next year to this very nice rental property. Howard [the owner] is very easy to deal with and makes renting this great house easy and efficient.

Our family has "grown up" at 13 Lyon's Lane / "Sanktuary" in the summer, and we love returning year after year! We enjoyed several lunches and one dinner outside at the new dining set outdoors! The landscaping as always is lovely, and the new tree in the front and new foundation plantings are beautiful. We arrived fresh from "final exams" and work stress, and by the end of the 2 weeks my youngest was painting and reading and not even checking facebook. :)

We had the pleasure of staying at 13 Lyons Lane this summer for the first of what we hope will be many years to come. The home is lovely and very well maintained with beautiful grounds and plantings. "I almost don’t want to advertise how perfectly comfortable, serene and meticulous we found this home. The space was open, bright and breezy, and easily accommodated our four children and babysitter. The space is so cleverly designed, we never felt on top of one another (a quality we can’t boast about our own home). The outdoor shower, gracious yard and quiet neighborhood made the everyday moments more memorable than the planned outings. So seldom do you find utility melded with charm. We also appreciated the proximity to the bike paths and the quaint town of Siasconset, as the whole family often took a ride to the general store and fantastic cafe. Though we’ve rented many lovely vacation homes over the years, this is by far our favorite."

Summer 2009 (July) Update. We returned again to Howard's house this summer because we had such a nice stay last year. Again, the house was meticulously maintained, very clean, and beautifully landscaped. It is always great to return to such a nice house after a day on the beach or in-town. We are already looking forward to returning here in 2010.

We have been summer visitors to 13 Lyons Lane for 7 or 8 years now, and we have seen our children grow up here! The kids love the beautiful lawn and gardens for early morning bird and bunny watching, and for late night star gazing. My husband and I love the master suite and deck, and enjoy coffee every morning with a beautiful view of the treetops and the ocean, and Sankaty Lighthouse in the distance. In our busy lives we crave the quiet and privacy we find at 13 Lyons Lane, and delight in the welcoming details of the house and garden. We look forward to returning often!

" We stayed at Howard's house for the first time last year, and have already reserved a week for the upcoming Summer of '09. The house is beautiful, immaculate, and very well maintained. There is plenty of space for a large family or 2 smaller families. The master bedroom suite is fantastic, with plenty of privacy and access to a 2nd story deck with great views both night and day. Everyone in our party was extremely happy staying at this house -- all the amenities you could ask for and located on what we consider the nicest area of the island."
