The home and landscape have been re-designed under the guidance of one of Boston's top designers. Modern, whimsical, and Cape-focused style and comfort will make anyone who appreciates design smile.

The waterfront views are stunning! Whether you are having your morning coffee in the kitchen, checking email in the office, outside on the furnished deck, grilling your favorite meal, or sitting in one of the Adirondacks down at the water's edge, you will have a breathtaking scene to enjoy.

The seasonal sunsets may rival the best you've seen on any vacation. Relax around the sunken fire pit while the sun disappears behind the bay.

Spring and Summer fauna provide near perfect privacy in the bayside yard.

Ospreys, great blue herons, hawks, and egrets all play and catch their meals in eyes view of your favorite place to sit - in or outside. Fiddler crabs scurry into their homes as you walk along the water.

Take a trip to the middle of Buttermilk Bay, or to a beach, or sandbar, on one of the provided kayaks.

Painters, photographers, birdwatchers, and nature lovers will appreciate the landscape and wildlife in and around Buttermilk Bungalow.

If guests choose to venture out from the oasis of The Buttermilk Bungalow there is plenty to see and do:

• Main Street Buzzards Bay and Cranberry Highway are both right around the corner and provide some new and classic eateries, antique shops, entertainment, and all the amenities you might need.

• Classic Cape towns (and their beaches, shopping, dining, site seeing….) like Falmouth and Sandwich are very close for you to explore.

• The breathtaking beaches and nature of Truro and Chatham (watch out for the Great Whites!), or the art/culture/food of Provincetown make excellent day trips.

TRAVELING WITH INFANTS AND TODDLERS:

We have not baby or toddler proofed the home/property for safety.

We may be able to offer some amenities (pack-n-play, high chair, etc.). However, we kindly ask that you reach out to us to discuss.

NO PETS Policy:

Unfortunately, we do not allow pets :/ We have a dog of our own but soon discovered that our trips to The Buttermilk Bungalow were less relaxing as we were worried about the furniture, floors, rugs, and the non-fenced-in yard. Our dog enjoys (and he is picky!) stays at the close-by and affordable Animal Inn (Sandwich, MA).

The entire home (excluding the basement) is accessible to guests. Additionally, the deck, yard, and waterfront are for guests to enjoy. Walking along the reeds/water towards the small boat launch is permitted (you may want to launch the kayaks from this location)

Please reach out to us if you need anything or have questions about the space, things to do, etc. We (or sometimes hired professionals) maintain the property. If routine maintenance is scheduled during your stay, we will give you a heads up before arrival. Generally we, or these professionals, only need access to the outside space and/or basement. If you discover something in the home requires maintenance we will promptly schedule someone (or ourselves) and let you know when they will arrive.

Quiet neighborhood. Close to downtown Buzzards Bay, Cranberry Highway, Cape Canal, and Bourne Bridge. Anything you might need is a very close drive from the home.

There are activities (swimming, hiking, etc.) within walking distance. Sidewalks are limited so please be VERY careful when walking to these locations. Beaches, shopping, site-seeing, restaurants, entertainment, Cape destinations all within a short drive.

''OFF SEASON'' NOTES:

In mid/late fall we will begin storing away the outdoor furniture for the cold months to come. Additionally, once we feel it is too cold to enjoy, will store away the kayaks. We return the furniture to the deck and fire pit areas in early Spring. Kayaks will become available again when it warms up.

We are hands on and responsive hosts. We want you to enjoy your vacation in peace. However, if you have any questions, preferences, or special requirements, we will respond in a timely manner and do whatever we can to accommodate you. We want this vacation/visit to be amazing!

    We fell for Buttermilk Bungalow for its location and its Instagram worthy interior. We got so much more than that from our week! The location is perfect for watching sunsets, kayaking, biking the canal, long beach days and s'mores at the bungalow fire pit. Erin did an AMAZING job with the decor. Loved everything. Also, the house is well equipped. Bring your flip flops and you're set. We have rented many cottages on the Cape and this was by far the best home and experience we have ever had.     The Buttermilk Bungalow made for a perfect stay. The location was ideal for our outings and activities, and we found that the area had lots of hidden treasures. The home itself is beautiful, pristine, inviting, charming, and cozy. The decor and amenities are so thoughtful and well appointed, and this seemed to anticipate all our moods, needs, and wants. We felt completely at home and surrounded by loveliness. Erin and Chuck were so friendly and thorough in their communication, and we felt welcomed before we even arrived.     We absolutely loved the stay. The house is beautifully decorated and had everything you could need. We were very impressed with the kitchen, it had so many amenities and cooking was a breeze. I think the highlight was the deck and the view. It's very peaceful and private, plus there was a ton of space to relax. I would definitely come back!
