Description

Description

Off of Barnhill Rd on the way to popular Harding's Beach, this updated three bedroom house with AC offers a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, perfect for families or couples.

The house features a cozy living room with tv, and dvd, updated kitchen with adjoining dining area, which can also serve as additional living space. Here is a spacious dining room table perfect for night time board games. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a nice island with bar stool seating. The first floor has 2 bedrooms, one with twin beds and the other with a queen. The first floor bathrooom was just renovated last winter. Upstairs is a master bedroom with a king size bed, TV, small deck overlooking the patio, and full bath featuring a jacuzzi tub!! All bedrooms have ceiling fans. The living room also has a ceiling fan.

The home has a nice deck with tables and chairs and a gas grill. And the adjacent brick patio offers some shade surrounded by a flowering cherry tree and perennial plantings.

Nestled down a private road in a quiet neighborhood of mostly seasonal homes, you will be only a short 4-5 minute stroll to Barn Hill town landing on the beautiful Oyster River. Although there is no swimming beach here, it does have a public boat ramp and is a nice place to just wander to and appreciate the scenery and tranquility. Kids will love going back day after day to poke around the shore looking for horseshoe crabs or watching the local shell fishermen bring in their day's catch.

About a 15 minute walk, short bike ride or quick drive in the other direction is beautiful Harding's Beach with public facilities, lifeguards and a canteen truck. Other popular beaches, including fresh water ponds, are also close by.

Besides all of the various beaches, Chatham has plenty of other activities to offer....A couple of small museums, seal watching, fishing, public tennis and basketball courts, great bike trails, golf, beach yoga, health and fitness club, kayaking, and sailing ..........
At night we have many restaurants, casual pizza or fried clams to fine dining, Chatham Anglers baseball under the lights at Veteran's Field, several summer concert series and the famous Friday night Chatham Band concerts in Kate Gould Park.

Possible day trips from Chatham might include the JFK Museum in Hyannis, Heritage Plantation in Sandwich, Provincetown on the very tip of Cape Cod, Boston and all its historical sights, (and Red Sox games), or take the ferry in neighboring Harwich to Nantucket.

    Oyster River

Awesome location, able to walk to the river. Great place to walk in the morning and evenings. Well appointed and cared-for home. It was great for us, kids could stay in the bedrooms off the kitchen while we retire to the suite upstairs. Plenty of space inside and out. This will be a family tradition. Any thing we needed Bob is just a phone call away. Perfect vacation getaway for the family- thanks you so much Bob for those memories.

Nice home base for 1st time visitors to Cape Cod

We enjoyed our stay at Bob's place on Ocean Port, just a short walk to the Oyster River to rent kayaks and an easy bike ride to Hardings Beach. And despite Covid-19, we still had a good time exploring Chatham and other nearby towns and beaches. Main street is very close for wine, ice cream, take out food, access to the bike trails, farmers market, etc.

The house was as described, even a bit nicer than expected, and very clean when we arrived and the A/C in the bedrooms worked well. Our pet loved sitting in the window seat watching the world go by or hanging out with us in the fenced in patio. The neighborhood is very quiet at night, good for sleeping with the windows open. We loved the outdoor shower, beach chairs, kitchen island, and Roku TV. show more show less

    Great November Stay!

We had a great stay over the Thanksgiving holiday! Everything at the home was found as expected.
Clean, well accommodated kitchen, plus a thoughtful welcome basket, including a treat for our dog, was a nice touch. The home has comfy furniture and rooms to spread out in. Having bedrooms on two floors is very convenient for families/kids with different bed times. Private furnished patio.

The location is great! Quiet lane, walkable to a town landing, with beautiful water views. The West Chatham area has much to offer and is a great home base for visiting other parts of the Cape.
The owner Bob was available and easy to reach, but not intrusive. What a great stay! We will be back!

    Fall Weekend in Chatham

We enjoyed a fall weekend at this home in Chatham. The house was roomy, comfortable and enjoyed by all in our family! The house was very clean on our arrival, and Bob was very good communicating with us and meeting us. Our family of 5 plus our dog could spread out inside as well as onto the nicely furnished patio outside. It's located on a nice quiet street too. Bob was a pleasure to rent from, and we hope to stay here or at his other property next year. Thank you, Bob! Would recommend this home!

Jul 20, 2017wonderful week!64 Ocean Port Lane, Chatham, MA, 02633, United StatesJuly 2017 - we thoroughly enjoyed our week at this property. Tucked away on a quiet street and steps away from a town landing where we could put our kayaks in, it was perfect for us! House was clean and well equipped with all that you might need for a week, outdoor shower was great and private patio area was awesome to come home to after a day on the beach. Our family, dog included, had a great week in this house. We walked to Harding Beach every morning with our dog. Our 2 sons, ages 16 and 19, each had their own room. The house had everything we needed and was so nice and airy. We really felt at home and comfortable. We would walk to the local marina every night and watch the boats, there's also a kyack rental place there. Convenient drive to all the places we love in the Chatham area. House was very clean and ready for us when we arrived. We got a nice warm welcome from Bob, the owner. show more show less

This is a rental house that I will definitely be coming back to. It was clean, homey and has a great patio area. I also really liked how the house came with beach chairs and a cooler to use while you were there. Bob was very accommodating and we really enjoyed our stay!

Jun 7, 2015Fantastic place for a break from it all64 Ocean Port Lane, Chatham, MA, 02633, United StatesBrought friends visiting from Scotland with small children here, it was a great house, nice and quiet and clean! Good for walking the dog as well down to Harding Beach. Not too far from downtown Chatham either for walking Bob was fantastic - checking in when we arrived, and helping when the trash pickup was off due to the holiday. We loved this beautiful, cozy home, snuggled away in a quiet, secluded neighbourhood backing onto forest. Nicely decorated, comfortable, clean, well kept house with very interesting "Cape Cod'ish" ambience and private back deck. It was perfect as a home base for our four days of sight see the Cape. downtown Chatham, multi million dollar summer homes, the Chatham fish market docks (seals are a must see) and many beautiful beaches within easy travelling distance. Bob, the owner, a very easy going, nice guy, was very supportive. Everything was perfect (except the weather, oh well!). Excellent value for the money. We will definitely be back to stay at one of his two properties. His second property is slightly larger and also looks fantastic. show more show less

My family moved to Chatham from New York in 1967 after several years of enjoying our summer vacations swimming at Harding’s, Ridgevale, and Cockle Cove beaches, going to Friday night band concerts and evening strolls downtown.
I graduated from Chatham High School in 1975 and now operate a small landscaping business here. Many of the homes I take care of are rental properties and now I own 2 myself!
I’m always available to answer questions and to do whatever I can to make your vacation carefree and memorable. I enjoy meeting our guests who have discovered and fallen in love with Chatham as my family did so long ago. I’m proud of the many nice reviews we’ve received!
Outside of work, my interests include world travel, playing trombone in a couple of local bands, and taking care of my 13 year old golden retriever!

What is special about this property?
Location!! Walking distance to one of Chatham’s most popular beaches, Harding’s. Also, only a 4 minute stroll to the town landing on Oyster River. People love the enclosed deck/patio area.
Newly renovated downstairs bathroom in 2019!

What is special about your town?
    Many beaches.
    Great walking downtown.
    Bike trails.
    Golf, tennis.
    Local museums.
Day trips to Provincetown, Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard.
    Chatham Anglers baseball games.
    Friday night band concerts.
    Fresh local seafood.
