Only 6/10 mile to family favorite warm water Ridgevale Beach on Nantucket Sound, our custom home is located on a private cul-de-sac in a quiet residential area near the South and West Chatham line. Our area is comprised exclusively of private single-family homes with paved roads and underground telephone, cable, and electric lines. It overlooks Cockle Creek and the tidal salt marsh inlet of Nantucket Sound that flows between Ridgevale Beach and Hardings Beach. Ridgevale Beach is adjacent and connected to Cockle Cove Beach.

Day-light lower level provides a second comfortable sitting or TV viewing area, an open activity area for games, ping pong, air hockey, or bumper pool, and access to patio area with a hot shower. We provide an outdoor propane gas grill (with spare tank).

Separate enclosed laundry area is equipped with large capacity washer and dryer, an iron, drying racks, and ironing board. We supply laundry detergent, bleach, and fabric softener. Lines for fresh air drying are located under the deck.

The layout of the house is very comfortable. Two full bathrooms (tub with shower) and three bedrooms are located on the main floor of the home. Master bedroom with king bed is located at rear of house with adjoining master bath. Two guest bedrooms (one with X-Long twin beds, one with twin beds) are located at front of house. Main bathroom is located off central hall near guest bedrooms. We provide bed linens, extra pillows, blankets, bath ans beach towels.

Two (2) low steps from the main entrance to main level of the home. Step directly from dining area onto expansive two-level mahogany deck. Wide gradual steps lead from main deck to lower deck and then onto private yard or to a patio area under main deck.

Our home is situated with a Southern view overlooking Cockle Creek and tidal saltmarsh inlet from Nantucket Sound between Ridgevale and Hardings Beaches. Cockle Creek winds through the tidal saltmarsh to Nantucket Sound. Since the water depth is tidal, we recommend a kayak or canoe be launched from the inlet at Ridgevale beach. There are several websites for local area boat rentals.

Our home is located less than 1 mi. from the bicycle trail, 3 mi. to Main Street, Chatham Center, and 0.6 mi. to Ridgevale Beach.

Ridgevale Beach is adjacent to but separated from Hardings Beach by an inlet to Cockle Creek and is adjacent to Cockle Cove Beach. We are 2.3 mi. drive to Hardings Beach. Parking pass for all Chatham beaches are purchased at Ridgevale Beach.

We provide beach equipment, including beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, and a cooler on wheels.

Chatham is located on the elbow of Cape Cod. Ridgevale Beach is on the South coast of Chatham, on the Eastern end of Nantucket Sound. The Atlantic Ocean is on the East coast of Chatham.

Our location offers proximity to a variety of attractions and activities for all ages.

Chatham offers a central location from which to tour Cape Cod. We're less than 1 mi. to a Park and Ride lot at the bicycle trail that winds through Harwich, Orleans, Eastham. Nearby Chatham Municipal Airport has small plane excursion rides. Sailing and Sportfishing boat charters and boat excursions to Monomoy Island are nearby; We're 36 mi. to Provincetown Whale Watching excursions, ferry to Plymouth, and fast ferry to Boston.

We're 5 mi. to the fast ferry from Harwich to Nantucket Island; 30 mi. to the Steamship Authority Ferry (and fast ferry) from Hyannis to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket; 41 mi. to the Island Queen Ferry from Falmouth to Martha's Vineyard.

Our home is furnished and well equipped for your comfort and enjoyment.

We provide local telephone service, landline and portable telephones, telephone answering machine, clock radio in each bedroom, High-Speed Broadband Ethernet and Wireless Internet, Expanded Channel Cable HDTV TV (on main and lower levels), stereo CD player, rubbish and recycle pickup, and professional lawn maintenance.

There are four(4) 6000 BTU window a/c units that cool 1000 sq.ft.. A powerful Dehumidifier/Evaporator installed in the lower level automatically measures and evaporates humidity. The open living/dining area has a ceiling fan. An automatic exhaust fan is installed in the attic. We provide additional box, window, and portable fans.

Although days on Cape Cod can be hot and humid in July, due to our home’s location and proximity to Nantucket Sound, we normally benefit from a constant direct offshore breeze from Nantucket Sound which provides good air circulation and cooling. Tenants have reported that AC was not needed.

We manage our rental directly. We do not utilize third-party booking agents who charge tenant booking fees. Tenants contact us directly to provide additional information or to resolve any problem.

We personally inspect and ensure that our home is thoroughly cleaned to our standards and is in proper order for incoming tenants. We expect a tenant to remove their personal belongings, food, etc., and to leave the house in a presentable condition. Our cleaning and linen fee is $250.00 for 1 or 2 occupants, $300.00 for 3 or 4 occupants, or $350.00 for 5 or 6 occupants. We schedule additional disinfecting to follow cleaning.

Due to owner's SEVERE ALLERGIC REACTIONS, we restrict rentals to NON-SMOKERS WITHOUT PETS (of ANY TYPE, BREED, WEIGHT, or SIZE).This restriction is included in our rental agreement.

Maximum occupancy is limited to six (6) persons. Our rental agreement stipulates that our property shall not be used for any function or gathering of more than the maximum number of occupants (6) without our prior permission.

If possible, we modify check-in and/or check-out times to accommodate a tenant's schedule.

We book with preference to two or more week rentals and with flexible turnover days and check-in/check-out times to comply with state/local guidelines and recommendations to maintain sufficient time to clean and disinfect between rentals.

    Lovely Chatham Home

    This lovely Chatham home ticked all the boxes for what we were looking for when vacationing on Cape Cod - located in a quiet neighborhood with a scenic backyard, walking distance to the beach, close to restaurants, shopping, and places to visit. The homeowners were gracious hosts that were easily accessible by email, text, or phone. Information was left in notebooks that answered all questions we might have. The home was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. This 3-bedroom (including king sized bed, often difficult to find in rental homes), 2-bathroom home gave us plenty of space during our stay. The back deck offered views of Cockle Cove Creek/salt marsh and our favorite blue heron during low tide. We consider ourselves fortunate to have found this home to spend a week in on the Cape.     South Chatham Rental

    Fantastic location, within walking distances of Ridgevale Beach. Each morning, coffee on the deck overlooks a scenic salt marsh. The house has a basement complete with ping pong, bumper pool and air hockey for family fun. Very convenient to downtown Chatham or the airport for a leisurely breakfast while local planes come and go. Very relaxing atmosphere. Homeowners are very detailed oriented and extremely responsive to questions or concerns. A pleasure to work with.

    Comfortable Cape

    We had had a lovely summer week in this home. It's clean and well-equipped, including beach towels and toys. It's on a pretty, quiet cul-de-sac, and walkable to the beach. Close to Chatham's stores and restaurants, but feels secluded and cozy. The back deck has a wonderful view and is perfect spot for outdoor meals. Highly recommended.

    Home with lovely marsh view

    We spent two weeks in this home enjoying morning coffee and evening drinks on the deck which overlooks a marsh. We were mesmerized by the blue herons who frequented the marsh
    We found the home to be meticulously clean and well stocked ,( kitchen appliances,dishes,pots ,linens ,towels and beach accessories). Beds were quite comfortable .
    The house is convenient to the bike path and beaches ,and near restaurants for take out during the pandemic

    So peaceful

    Our 6 person family had a blast. All the extras were fantastic. Not having to bring linens or beach supplies was a huge help. The layout of the house is perfect for families. Favorite part was sitting on the back porch in the mornings just watching the cranes in the marsh. Evenings watching the bunnies were nice and relaxing as well. Hope to return in 2023

    Cockle Cove House Review

    We found the house to be very clean and comfortable. It well equipped with beach going things and cooking things. We really enjoyed the gaming basement and spent all our evenings there. There was a nice large deck that overlooked a tidal marsh, which would have be nice to have breakfast on if it weren't so chilly in the mornings.

    The street was quite and close to the Ridgevale Beach. It was a short 15 minute walk to the beach. The house was a short drive to Chatham, which has nice downtown area to shop, eat, and walk. The house is centrally located on the Cape, which made it easy to get to Provincetown to the north and Hyannis and Falmouth to the west. I would definitely recommend. show more show less

    Great house - great location!

    We stayed in this house in early September and couldn't have asked for a better place. The house was spotless and included lots of amenities like a washer/dryer, beach chairs, outdoor shower, and linens. Plus, the kitchen was well-stocked and the beds were very comfortable.

    The location was perfect - we could walk to the beach and ride our bikes (or run) to the bike path, about a half a mile away. And we enjoyed sitting out on the large deck and looking at the marsh.

    The house isn't far from Chatham's main street, which is filled with lots of stores and good restaurants.

    And the homeowners were great - very responsive to any questions we had. We hope to stay here again.

    A peaceful vacation home with every amenity

    We enjoyed a very pleasant vacation here in early September. The owners were so responsive and incredibly thorough in arranging the rental, sharing local information, and in caring for their home. We'd never seen a vacation home so well stocked with every item you could need in the kitchen, bedrooms, rec areas, BBQ, etc. The back deck is sun-drenched and has a full view of the marsh - very peaceful. It's on a cul-de-sac so very quiet. Walking distance to Ridgevale Beach, which was perfect for the kids. Highly recommended! show more show less

    We are native New Englanders, growing up in Greater Boston MA. We've lived in southern NH and presently reside in Rhode Island. Starting in 1982, we acquired coastal homes in Massachusetts and Florida that we have made available for short-term furnished rentals.

    We do not consider any of our properties as ''a rental'' but as ''our home''. We consider tenants as our guests and appreciate it when tenants respectfully treat our home as ''their home away from home''.

    We do not list our homes on any rental website that blocks communication between owners and inquirers prior to collecting their booking/service fee from the renter. We enjoy direct communication with tenants and believe it is essential for each party's expectations.

    We personally manage our rentals and communicate directly with tenants, not through a property manager. Prior to a rental, we ensure that our home is properly prepared to our standards. We remain available to promptly provide information or resolve a problem if one arises.
