Pochet Retreat — Private Nauset Beach Access | 5BR, 3BA | East Orleans

Spend a week at the beach the way it's meant to be — without the crowds. This spacious five-bedroom home sits in the quiet Pochet Neighborhood Association in East Orleans, just a short walk from a private stretch of Nauset Beach and two minutes from the Sparrowhawk Drive boat launch on Pleasant Bay.

Nauset Beach regularly ranks among the finest barrier beaches on the entire East Coast: wide, white sand, dramatic Atlantic surf, and miles of open shoreline. Pochet Association members bypass the public lots entirely, reaching a far less crowded section of that beach — a privilege that brings families back to this neighborhood year after year.

The house is genuinely roomy, with five comfortable bedrooms and three full baths that accommodate large families or multi-generational groups with ease. Nearly an acre of land provides ample outdoor space to spread out, plus generous parking for everyone in the group — no juggling cars. The private neighborhood roads are minimally trafficked, making it easy and safe for kids to roam freely.

The Pochet area offers the best of both worlds: a secluded, peaceful setting with the restaurants, shops, and conveniences of East Orleans village just minutes away.

What makes this property special:

Private Pochet Association beach pass included — a secluded section of Nauset Beach, one of Cape Cod's best

2-minute walk to Sparrowhawk Drive boat launch (Pleasant Bay access for kayaking, sailing, and fishing)

Five bedrooms — ideal for larger families or two families traveling together

Nearly an acre of private yard with ample parking
Quiet, private neighborhood roads — great for families with children

Convenient to East Orleans shops, restaurants, and the Cape Cod Rail Trail

Kitchen and bathrooms reflect the character of a classic Cape Cod home — comfortable, lived-in, and perfectly suited to a week focused on the water rather than the indoors. read more show less

We have owned a house in Brewster since 2005, and have been vacationing on the cape since before they had children (all grown up now!). We work on the house every summer before rental season and visit a few times a year even though we live in Michigan. We want our guests to feel comfortable and at home and make great memories when they visit. We recently bought a house in East Orleans in the Pochet association. We've spent the winter cleaning and making it comfortable for guests. Our plan is to start major renovations in the fall so stay tuned!

What is special about this property?
Our Brewster house is in the villages at Ocean Edge, very close to 6A, so really close to the rail trail, coffee shops, and to beaches.

Our East Orleans house is in the Pochet association, so private deeded access to Nauset Beach, widely recognized as one of the best beaches on the cape. We are close to the Sparrowhawk boat launch and all the great food, shopping, and sports in Orleans. The house was even used as living quarters for the crew carrying out the salvage of the Maltese freighter Eldia that ran aground on Nauset beach in the 1970s. There is a mautical map in the basement that still has the markings of the freighter location and clearance zones. We've put a few pictures of the rescue up in the living room.

What is special about your town?
Brewster and Orleans are our favorite towns on the cape - easy drive, laid back atmosphere, lots of great beaches, restaurants, and the bike trail! Brewster gives you the unique Brewster Flats, unrivaled almost anywhere in the world and great fun for families or for taking a walk at low tide, while East Orleans gives you long pristine stretches of the Atlantic coast, great for long walks or long days at the beach.
